MADRID

593f8105afa68.jpg

MARCA's front page this morning is dedicated to an interview with Asensio who has grown into the first team at Real Madrid toward the end of the season and looks to have forced James Rodríguez out of the door.  The player can play in various midfield and attacking positions with an excellent technical ability and is also extremely quick.  The player that is a Barça fan and the player that could've played for Athletic Bilbao but fell through their scouting system which is strange.  All of that and more inside the paper in a great interview.  Also up top a reference to Antoine Griezmann's contract renewal with Atlético Madrid until 2022 and an interview with 10 time winner of Roland Garros, Rafa Nadal.

SPORT go with the Marco Verratti saga and a comment made by the player's agent Donato di Campli as he left the PSG offices in a rush...  "Barça or Barça" those are the only options the player wants to listen to.  FCB have apparently offered €100m (nobody has confirmed this) directly to Paris Saint-Germain so as to open the gate to be able to speak to the player personally who is in Ibiza since yesterday.  But apparently right now Barça are hesitant to speak to him personally because the Parisian club haven't recognised the offer officially to Barcelona and so has only met up with a few Barça players who are on holiday there (including a Chelsea player in that group, Cesc Fàbregas).  Also references at the bottom to Griezmann's renewal with Atlético Madrid until 2022.

MADRID

594ca1f5dbf45.jpg

MARCA offer their front page with Karim Benzema who is on holiday in New York and decided to visit one of the Real Madrid youth sides that are at this moment also in New York playing in a tournament.  When he was seen there he was interviewed with one of his quotes making the headlines... "My dream is to continue to win things at Madrid".  Also on the right hand side references to the ongoing U-21 European Championships where Spain face Serbia after having beat both Macedonia and Portugal.  Underneath that we see a quote by ex Barcelona president Joan Laporta who like a few others is looking for the moment to push forward another presidential election at FC Barcelona.

BARCELONA

594cb00636827.jpg

France and Borussia Dortmund's Dembélé makes today's front page and a suggestion that the deal to sign him will happen in the summer of 2018.  I have no idea how that's news and it seems very strange...  Also news that Marco Verratti has taken time out of his holiday in Ibiza to make a lightning trip to Paris so as to talk face to face with the PSG board.  On other news, the story about Brazilian Lucas Lima possibly coming to the club and the announcement that it would be in January only for a club board member (unknown) to say it isn't done.

DiarioAS.png

MADRID

594cb006002af.jpg

AS offer their front page dedicated to Real Madrid target Mbappé and the rumour that Real coach Zinedine Zidane called the player personally to convince him to move to Real Madrid and not listen to all the other offers.  Apparently telling him he would get minutes in the side and that Real Madrid can turn him into a world star.  Also further news on the Cristiano Ronaldo tax fraud case where the Spanish fiscal office have apparently said that the only deal that can be made is the same as for everyone by admitting he evaded tax, paying the fine and what he owes.

1280px-Logo_Sport.svg.png

BARCELONA

594ca1f643ae1.jpg

Barcelona based SPORT go the Verratti route with their front page this morning and the news that the player has taken two days out of his holiday to quickly return to Paris and talk face to face with PSG.  He will apparently be trying to force his move to Barcelona in person by stating that this is his only chance to get the move he's always wanted.  Also the news that Lucas Lima will be signing in January although that's in the air at the moment and shrouded in a bit of scandal.  At the bottom we see more news on the Cristiano Ronaldo tax fraud case where the player is apparently saying he won't pay the Spanish fiscal office and that he'll fight his case in the courts.

VALENCIA

Regional Valencian sports newspaper SUPER DEPORTE offer today's front page on the ongoing issue with signings at Valencia CF.  The fans are making their voices heard (as per usual with them) and saying they don't want anymore broken promises (the headline).  Also rumours Napoli's Raúl Albiol could be returning to the club after 10 years away.

FRANCE

594ca1f99b9b5.jpg

French sports newspaper L'ÉQUIPE like AS go with the rumour that Zidane has apparently spoken in person to Monaco's Mbappé so as to convince him to move to Real Madrid and forget all the other clubs interested in him.  Up top also the news that Verratti has taken time out of his holiday so as to quickly go to Paris and talk to PSG owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi himself face to face.

MADRID

MARCA offer their front page this morning announcing that Arbeloa has decided to call it a day and will retire from football. Up top is the part that should've made the full front page if true by suggesting that both Real Madrid CF and Manchester United are currently in negotiations for the transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo to Old Trafford.  Also references at the bottom to Spain's U-21 team winning once again, this time against Serbia 0-1 where Denis Suárez was the star.

1280px-Mundo_Deportivo.svg.png

BARCELONA

594df375e726e.jpg

The main proportion of MUNDO DEPORTIVO's front page today is again dedicated to the ongoing and never ending saga with Marco Verratti.  According to sources in France, Verratti was told by PSG (owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi) that they won't sell him and to make Verratti change his mind they offered him a substantial raise on his wages to €12m a season.  Verratti apparently refused straight away and left the offices at the club returning on the first flight to Ibiza.  Verratti apparently only wants to know about signing for Barcelona.  Also up top MUNDO DEPORTIVO congratulate Messi on his 30th birthday.  At the bottom we see references to Spain's 0-1 victory in the U-21 European Championships with a wonderful performance from Denis Suárez.

DiarioAS.png

MADRID

594e018640a64.jpg

AS offer their front page mainly dedicated to another of the summer's transfer sagas with the Kylian Mbappé possible signing for Real Madrid.  AS use the L'Équipe as the source on reports that Zidane and Florentino Pérez have been inc contact personally with the young French player and that they may have convinced Mbappé to choose the Santiago Bernabéu as his big money destination.  Up top we see the reference to the Spain U-21 team keeping their 100% record in the European Championships with a 0-1 victory against Serbia.  At the bottom AS congratulate Lionel Messi on his 30th birthday by reporting on how the Spanish fiscal office have changed their decision from searching for a prison sentence for Messi to a simple fine.

Regional Valencia daily sports newspaper SUPER DEPORTE offer their front page on what they've basically been offering their front page for over two weeks if we eliminate the couple of days they dedicated their front page to how the Valencia Basketball team beat Real Madrid to the league title.  Anyhow...  More reports on the comings and goings at Valencia (actually no comings at all so far) with Enzo Pérez possibly going to River Plate in Argentina rather than a move to Sevilla which was on the cards a couple of weeks ago.

MADRID

594f44f68fcbd.jpg

MARCA dedicate most of their front page this morning to Spain's ladies basketball team who have once again reached the European Championship Final where they will play France today at 20:30cet.  On the right column we see Sergio Ramos who could become the Real Madrid player with the most honours won.  He currently stands at 18 tiles, 5 behind the club legend Paco Gento.  Below that it tells of how Spain's U-21 team will meet Italy in the semi-finals and below that how Getafe CF have made it back to La Liga though the play-off system after beating CD Tenerífe 3-1.

1280px-Mundo_Deportivo.svg.png

BARCELONA

594f44f716a65.jpg

MUNDO DEPORTIVO's front page is dedicated to the story that FC Barcelona is supposedly negotiating the signing of Brazilian Paulinho.  Barça need squad players in midfield and according to one technical board room member, Paulinho fits the requirements in this area.  Also at the bottom references to Getafe making it back to La Liga and how Spain's U-21 team will meet Italy in the semi-finals of the U-21 European Championships.

DiarioAS.png

MADRID

594f44f6c638c.jpg

Madrid based AS goes with the Gareth Bale story I spoke about in the Real Madrid thread.  It looks like the more than possible arrival of Monaco's Kylian Mbappé could mean that Bale will be moving on and PSG are earmarked as his possible destination.  Also a focus on Spain's ladies basketball team making the European Championships Final where they will be playing France and also in football's U-21 European Championships how Spain will be facing Italy in the semi-finals.

logo-marca.png

MADRID

5951e7f5e820a.jpg

MARCA deliver their front page dedicated to the UEFA U21 European Championship Final between Spain and Italy.  Namely two of the most talented and most talked about youngsters on the continent...  AC Milan and Italy's Gianluigi Donnarumma and Real Madrid and Spain's Marco Asensio.  The clash is played tonight at 20:00bst.

1280px-Mundo_Deportivo.svg.png

BARCELONA

5951e7f66a968.jpg

MUNDO DEPORTIVO's front page surrounds the Bellerín to Barcelona issue and the assumption by the headline that FC Barcelona will give themselves 10 days to try and convince Arsenal FC on an offer for the Spanish right-back.  If this is not possible, then the club will move onto another alternative.  Up top references to tonight's U21 Euros Semi-Final between Spain and Italy.

WEDNESDAY 28th JUNE 2017

logo-marca.png

MADRID

59533975eb3e8.jpg

MARCA'a headline this morning says: "Saúl takes us to the final".  The front page is dedicated to Spain's 3-1 victory against Italy in the U21 Euro Championships semi-final.  Atlético Madrid's Saúl scored the hat-trick.  Also on the right-hand aside Theo Hernández' imminent move from Atlético Madrid to Real Madrid is slot completed and a quote by him saying that his dream as a kid was to one day play for Real Madrid.

1280px-Mundo_Deportivo.svg.png

BARCELONA

5953397667d24.jpg

MUNDO DEPORTIVO also dedicate their front page to the U21 Spain side getting to the final after a 3-1 victory agains Italy's U21 with a hat-trick from Saúl Ñíguez. Up top we see a debate that is contained inside about what each senior Mundo Deportivo journalist thinks on the Héctor Ballerín issue for Barça and the difficulties that are contained in getting him from Arsenal.  At the bottom a strong quote from Chile's Arturo Vidal on Cristiano Ronaldo where he calls him "Conceited".

DiarioAS.png

MADRID

5953397637722.jpg

AS perform a miracle on their front page which is dedicated to Spain's U21 side getting to the final of the UEFA European Championship against Italy by 3-1.  Even though Saúl was the protagonist (something all of Spain's national sports newspapers managed), AS managed to obtain a picture with Saúl and of course their picture boy over the past few days, Real Madrid's Asensio.  Aside from that, we also have a mention at the bottom on the Confederations Cup semi-final between Portugal and Chile where once again AS manage to take a swipe where its not needed by saying that Portugal face Messi's dark beast, Chile.

1280px-Logo_Sport.svg.png

BARCELONA

5953397695e4c.jpg

SPORT almost forget Spain's U21 feat in getting to the final of the U21 European Championships and seemed to have remembered in the last minute before going out to print by sticking it in the bottom left corner of the front page.  Instead SPORT go with a speculative front page and headline by stating that Barcelona won't go beyond the 4th of July (they love all their independence connotations don't they) in their attempt to sign Italy and PSG star Marco Verratti. Also reports that the Manchester City group along with Pep Guardiola's brother, Pere, will attempt to purchase newly promoted La Liga club Girona.

VALENCIA

595339784d486.jpg

Regional Valencia sports newspaper SUPER DEPORTE almost done the same as SPORT by forgetting what Spain's U21 side done yesterday in their 3-1 victory against Italy's U21 side...  Although the logistics department at Super Deporte seem to have managed a salvation act by not relegating it to a bottom corner and actually placing it on a top corner.  Instead they focus the main proportion of their front page on some nonsense about Valencia's 'B' side gong to France on some sort of...  Forget it, won't go into this manginess stuff.

logo-sportyou.png

NATIONAL | SPAIN

28.jpg?2017062804

National sports newspaper SPORT YOU also focus their entire front page to Spain's U21 victory against Italy's U21 side in the European Championships Semi-FInal by 3-1.  Saúl makes the front page after scoring a hat-trick.

SATURDAY 5th AUGUST 2017

logo-marca.png

MADRID

598552763b989.jpg

Not much happening in Madrid, so MARCA this morning have decided to go with a front page on what's happening in Paris, France with yesterday's presentation of Neymar for Paris Saint-Germain.  My favourite bit is the amount of security involved...  Comparing that to what Donald Trump gets these days you'd think someone in the US wants rid of Mr Orange.

1280px-Mundo_Deportivo.svg.png

BARCELONA

598552768a736.jpg

MUNDO DEPORTIVO have decided to go with what looks like being the three star signings this summer for FC Barcelona.  Coutinho, Dembélé and Iñigo Martínez.  According to Mundo Deportivo, those are the three that will be arriving.  Up top the sports newspaper have decided to go with one of Neymar's quotes yesterday on his presentation for PSG... "The best players in the world are here".

320px-Logo_diario_AS.svg.png

MADRID

598560857282d.jpg

AS go with the return of Cristiano Ronaldo to training with Real Madrid.  They also take a quote from something the player said in his court appearance for tax fraud which could get him 15 years in prison...  "I've never had a problem in England and that's why I'd like to go back".  Interesting because his tax problems have nothing to do with his wages at Real Madrid and actually have everything to do with his own publicity work he does.  Also up top references to Neymar moving to PSG and how 6 out of the 12 nominees for UEFA awards are all Real Madrid players.

400px-Logo_Sport.svg.png

logo-marca.png

MADRID

5987f57607225.jpg

The main portion of MARCA's front page is dedicated to Real Madrid's upcoming game against Manchester United in the European Super Cup.  The headline states that Mourinho wants revenge for some reason. Revenge for what is my question?  Also up top in MotoGP we had three Spanish winners in the three motorcycling categories (Moto1, Moto2 and MotoGP) which were dedicated to the death of one of the greatest motorcylist riders of all time, Ángel Nieto.

1280px-Mundo_Deportivo.svg.png

BARCELONA

MUNDO DEPORTIVO offer a front page with four big moments this week for Barça.

- Messi to sign his new contract

-  Chapecoense playing in the Joan Gamper

- The possibility of Coutinho and Iñigo Martínez signing

- The Supercopa de España against Real Madrid

320px-Logo_diario_AS.svg.png

MADRID

5987f5763ec50.jpg

AS use this morning's front page in memory of Ángel Nieto with all three Spanish riders that won in yesterday's motorcycling GP's in the Czech Republic.  Also references to the Joan Gamper at the bottom where Barça will be playing Chapecoense.  Up top there's a focus on the Community Shield in England that was won by Arsenal and where Álvaro Morata missed in the penalty shoot-out.

400px-Logo_Sport.svg.png

BARCELONA

THURSDAY 17th AUGUST 2017

logo-marca.png

MADRID

59952475f1f2a.jpg

MARCA's headline says "The Summer Dance" in reference to Real Madrid winning the Supercopa de España.  The score was 1-3 in the Camp Nou with a better performance from Real, it was 2-0 at the Santiago Bernabéu.

1280px-Mundo_Deportivo.svg.png

BARCELONA

5995247669fc2.jpg

MUNDO DEPORTIVO put a lighter criticism on their front page although inside they hit the board at FCB really hard.  The headline on the front page simply says that Barça haven't managed to start their engines yet.  There's a lot more problems than a twitchy starter motor here in my opinion.  Also at the bottom we see references to Cristiano Ronaldo publicly stating (via one of his social media accounts) that he feels like he's being persecuted.  He said the same thing about his tax evasion court case a couple of weeks ago.  He seems to think there should be different rules for him.

320px-Logo_diario_AS.svg.png

MADRID

599524763a807.jpg

AS produce one of their poster special front pages which open up into an A4 size poster for collectors.  Now...  This type of front page is usually reserved for very special moments like when the World Cup was won, the European Championships or a Champions League...  This infact, in my opinion, is the showing of why Barça are bigger!  This in my view is the proof that there's still catch-up or that at least the psychosis of being dominated has affected judgment.  Anyhow...  AS bring out a poster special for the Supercopa de España with the headline that reads... "Shower and Title".

400px-Logo_Sport.svg.png

BARCELONA

5995247699881.jpg

SPORT is more to the point and accurate in it's one worded front page headline...  It is infact the best way to describe what has occurred to FCB overtime and here is the medical analysis...  "SOULESS".  There is no identity or soul in this side, it's been finally stripped!  Also at the bottom references to the arrival of Paulinho to Barcelona and the signing of Coutinho from Liverpool just hours away.

MUNDO DEPORTIVO's front page also relates to Real Madrid's disastrous start at home where they're still yet to win.  The bottom half of the front page states that Real are already 7 points behind Barça while up top Messi's stats which are astronomical.

AS offer this morning's front page in relation to Real Madrid's home defeat at the hands of Real Betis by 0-1.  The headline states; "Seven Points" and a quote by Zidane where he says that Real Madrid played a bad game but that with the various chances the team had the ball didn't want to go in.  Also up top Atlético Madrid's fantastic victory by 1-2 away to Athletic Bilbao and a stellar performance from Antoine Griezmann.

SPORT rub it in on Real Madrid with their front page headline.  Real Madrid still haven't won at the Santiago Bernabéu and last night Real Betis made it a whole lot worse by inflicting Real's first defeat of the season in the 94th minute, 0-1.
