And with that said, lots of praise for @Rucksackfranzose for getting 18 points which propels him up into the chasing pack, and into 5th place. And not only that, he was also the only one to predict the goalless draw in the Women's Merseyside derby. Next best were myself and @Tommy with 13 points. The latter capitalising on Nawoo not predicting and closing the gap to 2 points. @Viva la FCB closed the gap on @CaaC (John) to just 3 points.

  3. Wokeism is a black American cultural movement and ideal that requires its people to be aware of the implicit biases of the American system against them, it has nothing to do with China. So you just skimmed over the parts where I criticised China, I also don’t recall praising China. In fact I’ve had at lengthly and quite productive discussions with Gonzo about human rights abuses in China, but you wouldn’t know that, would you. I know you didn’t read the article too, I could have posted a joke link and you wouldn’t notice. And yes Salman is the king. Read that I didn’t say ‘bin Salman’, I said ‘Salman’ who is the father and of bin Salman (the prime minister) and absolute monarch of Saudi Arabia, which is not basically the same as the CCP, which is ironic that you’d accuse me of liking one and not the other when it’s very obvious I’m critical of both, but you are in fact the person that’s critical of one while sucking the dick of the other. Words the orangekrush doesn’t understand but uses libertarian communism socialism fascism dictator authoritarian woke anarcho democracy monarchy @Dr. Gonzo @Rucksackfranzose feel free to add more to the list, we can keep a running tally

  7. At the bolded part: You're neither an Israeli nor living in Israel, so nobody asks you to do anything like this you mentioned.Know you're Jewish, yet while there are Jews like you, who aren't Israeli exist, there are also Muslim and Christian Israelis. Stop that equating the state of Israel with the Jewish community, it's outright wrong.

  8. I don't care what they've done to be honest mate. Every day now is PSR, PSR, PSR. Almost daily reminders that this is the new football. Accountants, lawyers, yawn, yawn, yawn. I think the Premier League have shown beyond all doubt this season that they're in no position whatsoever to be pretending they can implement these financial rules. I can see where this is going now. Nobody likes VAR but it gives everyone something to talk about and, most importantly of all, it gets clicks. The more VAR drama, the better, because it gets people on social media shouting about "the worst decision they've ever seen" and more people are talking about the Premier League. It's going to be the same with PSR. Let's find another way we can introduce financial charges to a club so everyone can keep talking about points deductions and appeals and how stupid the rules are because the only thing worse than people slating the Premier League is people not talking about the Premier League at all. I'm sure Leicester have a case to answer just like Everton and Forest did but you can see how the coverage has changed since Everton initially got the 10 point deduction. Things that would have been dealt with behind closed doors are now a spectacle that has to be played out in public over the course of several months, several meetings, and rounded off with a few journalists leaking the result before it's published accompanied by a bunch of emojis. I'm convinced it's all deliberate. All this "Forest are expecting a decision on Monday or Tuesday at the latest and maybe Sunday" is deliberately designed to get people spending three days refreshing their social media pages and searching for information. It's telling now that the national journalists have increasingly started tweeting out minor updates that would have been a footnote in an obscure article in the past. It's all about the buzz. Football is so fucked, man. If the Premier League want to be viewed as a credible enforcer of these rules then they'll start making a dent in Man City's 115 charges instead of going after a team that's already been relegated from their league. Low-hanging fruit. Of course 115 charges are more complicated but that's all the more reason to get started ffs.

  16. So you've come back after licking your wounds, eh? Well Mr. Libertarian-Nonce, how about you do some explaining. Please enlighten me on a few little caveats you don't seem to address but dance around the boot you lick. So socialism only applies to those well connected, well I seem to be able to use the roads pretty easily, whose cronyism am I appealing to? i seem to be able to use my universal healthcare in Australia very easily, I don't know anyone in medicine. I can call the police, the fire brigade, and an ambulance just fine, I can apply for unemployment, the PBS, maternity and paternity leave, pension, superannuation, childcare support, wow the list goes on... yet I don't know anyone and these services are provided to me as social programs, weird right!? So who is this magical person I know that gets me these connections? Okay that's question one finished, maybe you can now define fascism and how the policies of AfD differ from fascism, they seem to really love the hallmarks of fascism; anti-immigration, historical revisionism, prefacing an in-group and an out-group to blame the 'struggles of the nation on', nationalism, xenophobia, religious prejudice, racism, the 'decline of morals and ethics in society', homophobia, literally using key words that the Nazi party used, you have no idea what you are talking about yet again. Lastly, can you quote me on where I was twerking for Xi? I seem to recall being very critical of Xi, China, and you're inability to use words correctly, and now I'm going to be critical of your reading comprehension because no matter how much you staring the face of facts laid bare before you, I can continue to read the diarrhoea sprayed from your fingertips onto my computer screen.

  21. Results - Australian Grand Prix A broad mixture of scores this week, starting off with a 0 for @Whiskey who didn't make any predictions. Qualifying was more or less business as usual, with @MUFC the only person to gamble on someone other than Max Verstappen for pole position. Leclerc sadly blew his last qualifying effort leaving him empty-handed, with everyone else bagging 5 points for the usual VER pole. Also resolved on Saturday was this week's bonus question. Not helped by Ricciardo's deleted lap-time seeing him knocked out in Q1, nobody predicted a gap between him and Piastri of anything like the 1.5 seconds that Piastri had out-stripped his compatriot by come the end of Q3, so 2 consolation points go to @OrangeKhrush who predicted the largest margin of anyone. Onto the race, and wouldn't you know that it took until just the second race after we started predicting "top three without Verstappen" that this ends up being the actual top three in the race. The change in this prediction achieved what we wanted anyway, with a variety of Perez, Norris, Ferrari and Mercedes picks yielding a nice mixture of scores. Nobody predicted Sainz in 1st place, but 2 points each go to @RandoEFC, @Tommy, @Coma and @DeadLinesman for putting him elsewhere in their top three. Everyone predicted a top three finish for Charles Leclerc, with @RandoEFC, @Stan, @Tommy, @nudge, @The Palace Fan and @DeadLinesman all bagging 5 points for putting him in P2, everyone else picking up 2 - the only points of the weekend in @MUFC's case. @Stan, @nudge and @OrangeKhrush all distinguished themselves by rounding off their podium predictions with Lando Norris in 3rd, collecting them another 5 points each. The presence of Perez in everyone's top three prevented anyone from bagging the 20 points for a perfect podium. Finally, this week's random driver was Oscar Piastri at his home race. Nobody was bold enough to predict a finish as high as 4th for him, but @RandoEFC was closest with 6th place here so picks up an extra 2 points. Here's what it does for the standings: Three races in, defending champion @RandoEFC sneaks to the top of the standings with a 1 point lead ahead of previous leader @Tommy. @MUFC's poor weekend and @Whiskey's no-show this weekend see them propping up the standings. In the Constructors', a mediocre week for Mercedes sees them drop from 1st to 4th. Red Bull raked in the highest points tally this week but it's McLaren who sneak into the top spot in a close battle between them, Red Bull and Aston Martin. I'm going away tomorrow so I'll be posting the predictions for next weekend's Japanese Grand Prix this afternoon.

  30. I'm sure there is, but the way Israel has gone about fighting this war is foolish at best and malicious at worst. Israel's done nothing but bolster Palestinian propaganda because they've done nothing but show disregard for Palestinian civilian life. It is just going to create another generation of Palestinians that think Israelis and Jews see them as pests to slaughter, so they will be very easy for radicals to take advantage of and use their lives as pawns in a greater geopolitical game - just like their parents are at the moment. What's the end game? Nobody in Israel seems to know. Will they occupy Gaza like the West Bank? It seems to be an unpopular opinion amongst both Israelis or Palestinians. Is Israel just going to make the size of Gaza smaller - concentrated into a camp to live in? I think Netenyahu's popularity rating is actually dogshit right now and if Israel held an election tomorrow, he would get crushed. A lot of people view him as the guy who let October 7th's attacks happen. A ceasefire will probably let Hamas regroup a bit, but I'm sure they've been massively devastated after months of this war dragging on. Let's not forget it's one of the most heavily armed militaries in the world with nearly the full support of the West against a starving group of people with terrorists amongst them. The primary reason to have a ceasefire is because Gaza needs humanitarian aid. If you don't view Palestinians as people, you probably won't see things this way - but the fact is the way Israel fights wars creates humanitarian crises. Indiscriminate bombing campaigns, gunning down starving people trying to gather aid, and bombing refugee camps is going to do a hell of a lot more to indoctrinate the populous against Israel than a ceasefire will. This is the biggest problem with the way Israel tries to fight terror. There is no attempt to actually do anything to combat the ideologies - instead just moving in, killing people, and disregarding the human rights of the territories they occupy... it does nothing to halt extremism & this doesn't make Israel any safer. A ceasefire and Israel actually taking steps to demonstrate they respect human rights and don't have a total disregard for Palestinian life would go a long way. I'm sorry, but there is no true existential threat to Israel at the moment. If Israel was seriously facing any existential threat, the US military and likely other countries like France, Germany, the UK, etc. would all come rushing to make sure that Israel's safety is guaranteed. So that's not really any justification for Israel's continual refusal to follow international laws and for the continued illegal settlements. If anything, these illegal settlements put more Israelis at risk as they give West Bank Palestinians good reason to hate settlers and hate Israelis. A two state solution hasn't been on the table since Rabin's assassination. And has been far from Israelis minds since the day Netanyahu first took power. We're talking about the mid-90s here. So no, it's not really fair to characterise the failure of any progress towards meaningful peace just at the feet of Palestinians. There are people in both groups of people that have a longing desire to put this conflict behind them and move on to have normal lives, they've been let down by leaders who are all too happy to have the extremism grow. But in the eyes of most of the world, the failure of any two-state solution lies firmly at the feet of both Palestinians and Israelis. If the UNSC had done its job in the 90s, Netanyahu wouldn't have been in power for so long and the illegal settlements in the West Bank wouldn't exist. But the UNSC has no real legitimacy in this conflict, imo. Of the permanent members, there's 4 countries that have such close historical ties to Israel... they're basically culpable for the present day situation - especially the US, UK, and Russia. That leaves China as the only one that can truly claim to be neutral... and China's currently conducting an actual genocide of Muslims in Xinjiang. An international coalition is probably needed, but I think it doesn't necessarily have to be a UN led mission and it needs to have a significant Arab presence as a counterweight to the US/Israeli side that would be involved. I don't know if you noticed, but the US had far more success going after terror groups with targeted special forces operations and drone strikes than outright warfare on Iraq & Syria. Targeted and less sloppy strikes that actually do something to remove the source of extremism. Israel's making a strategic decision to choose to fight this fight as a conventional war. And they've ignored warnings from the US government "not to make the same mistakes we did in Iraq" in doing so - and just as the US found out in Iraq, turns out treating a civilian population as a hostile terrorist population doesn't really do a single thing to stem extremism and terrorism... I suspect Israel will find the same thing out. I suspect Israel already knows, but the leadership in Netanyahu and his little war tribunal, don't really give a fuck about the blowback from the war today. They just want to be seen as strong while simultaneously dragging out the war for as long as possible to cling to power. And it's not like Israel's incapable of precision special attacks - they made a robotic machine gun to kill a nuclear physicist in Iran that was accurate enough to kill their assassination target while simultaneously leaving his driver completely unharmed. Israel is 100% capable of actually fighting Hamas in a way that doesn't put the vast majority of Gazans in harms way. They are choosing not to for political reasons. And not political reasons that have any benefit to anyone other than Netanyahu and his coalition - just literally doing what they can to cling to power while playing with Israeli and Palestinian lives. Honestly, I think Europe generally has a lot to answer for when they decided Palestinian Arabs should pay for Europe's crimes against the Jewish people for hundreds of years. But it was such a horrifically miscalculated decision with no real thought as to the blowback that we'd be dealing with for decades that I do think Europe should generally be doing a hell of a lot more to stop the bloodshed, rather than just sit on the sidelines and refuse to condemn pretty blatant war crimes and human rights violations.
