He should be given a chance after doing well with Ajax with a circus going on upstairs at the club (I'm literally just finishing Johan Cruyff's autobiography and he's gone into great detail on this subject). Having Frank in charge of the national team would be a great appointment as he would be able to translate Ajax's philosophies into the Dutch side which is what made them so successful in the 70's with ''Total Football''. van Gaal would be the wrong appointment, it would just be another cog to the machine as opposed to a breath of fresh air. That Cruyff autobiography is bloody great isn't it? The man had football mapped out from a very early age and it was him that buried catenaccio. Until then coaches were afraid to base football on attack. You're right on De Boer, but Dutch football is unique in the sense that for it to work correctly, it needs more than one person working for one ideal. It needs everyone above, beside and then finishing with the players to translate the theory into practice. If it wasn't for Dutch, football would still be stuck in the way it was played to begin with... Actually, if it wasn't for Cruyff and Rinus Michels. They need to start winning, something really has gone seriously wrong over the last 2 years it is like when Johan Cruyff was diagnosed with his illness its been a slow death to Dutch football when he did pass away. They need to bring something new to this national team, they need to stop with the Hiddinks, Blinds etc and get in de Boer with the correct coaching team, who plays a certain brand of football which does have results, he also makes sensible choices, even though we don't have the world class players around at the moment, we still have a selection of players that are capable of doing something and shouldnt be losing to teams like Bulgaria. Blind has been terrible, they should be comfortably second place in their group & pushing France for second but look unlikely at the moment. Blind is clueless its a shame how its ending for him as he was such a good player but not cut out for managing, the style and tactics are just clueless, its like the players play with a chain around them. I'm loving it mate, got about two chapters to go but I'm really enjoying it. You can tell that Johan is a true student of football and had ambitious but well thought through ideas for Ajax and Barcelona. It's just a shame that what happened stopped his influence in Amsterdam from being so positive and to an extent in Barcelona too with President Nunez. Rinus Michels seems to be of the same mould too, wherever he went seemed to turn into a success story and when you read about his ideas you can see why.
