Yeah I'm a huge fan. My favourite book is The Metamorphosis, and I've also read The Trial/Process, as well as a few of his short stories like In the Penal Colony, The Stoker, and The Judgement. I managed to find an edition of the Metamorphosis with a load of his short stories in a little used book store in Glasgow.1 point

I remember watching a YouTube video of one of his introductory lectures on the scientific method. Despite having zero prior interest in science (I did the bare minimum in school to get the grades I needed) I was totally hooked in. Anyway, I've moved onto this now: Its comparatively short to what I've been reading recently so I hopefully should be done in a couple of weeks.1 point

To be fair, the USA aren't in a position to behave like the USA at the moment.1 point

Scottish Independence has become a joke now, how can you have a referendum and then push for another referendum because of a democratic decision made afterwards. Complete bollocks. I voted to remain, majority voted Brexit, that's democracy. On the subject of Brexit, I look forward to when we leave the EU and people are still complaining about immigration and overloaded schools/hospitals. Also can't wait to see nowhere near, or if any of the amount of the EU "fee" that was promised to be put into the NHS throughout the campaign actually get put back in it. Probably carry on cutting the NHS down and closing needed departments and A&E's.1 point

I was reading reddit (r/de) and found a comic done by some Germans about Trump's "bill" to Merkel: Source: https://www.reddit.com/1 point

Just finished reading it and the insight into how speed and accuracy nearly conned everyone is great. It really is amazing what lengths some people go to just to get an edge on people even if its a micro-second of an advantage.1 point

Just a lot of noise. The UK is in a debt trap. UK finances are awful, Scotland's finances are awful, the current lifestyle of the entire island is being subsidised by unborn generations productivity via the Bank of England and private bondholders. The affordability of free prescriptions is absolutely nothing in comparison to the pensions crisis coming. The arguments about being able to afford free tuition and other perks or not are just noise. Totally irrelevant to the question of independence which is solely a matter of where power lies.1 point
