  1. Just finishing up day two in Sicily/Catania. Today we spent the day in Taormina, beautiful place yet again. Tomorrow we are off to Syracusa and then off to Milan for three days. Tickets seemed to work out I'll know when were there but they look good now that they are delivered. We bought tickets to the opening match Inter vs Monza. I tried dealing with Inter's official site but I couldn't get a verification code without an Italian phone number and we wanted to get the tickets ahead of time. I tried emailing them but the time difference meant the tickets I wanted got taken two or three different times then they stopped responding. Bought through viagogo seemed a little sketchy so I half expected it not to work out but knock on wood so far so good for Saturday. Here's a shot from the city up top. Took a funicular down to the beach later which is roughly in the bottom right corner of the pic.

  3. It sounds very convoluted and complex anyway. Most cases like this are complex anyway but sounds like there may have been some underhand tactics at play, or some agenda. But there may be stuff not mentioned in the media which is a) understandable and b) may mean the full picture isn't seen in the public eye. It sounds very distressing for the family but I hope an amicable solution is found for them.

  4. I am sorry, but that's just hilarious. Out of all the ways a person would want to distract a tennis player, making a bee buzzing sound is just ridiculous. She has no shame.

  5. Googled it and found nothing, just like @Tommy. As for the doctors their report is only valid at a German court, if it's in German. And Jugendamt having the final say over social worker's advise is common legal practice. Finally it's Vormundschaftsgericht (translates to guardianship court) that decides. Doubt it will react impressed on attempts of political influence. in my homnest opinion.

  8. FSG transfer policy is really baffling. I mean, I really thought that with their baseball background they would explore market inneficiencies to build strong teams at ower budgets. There are so many of them, especially at a sport like football where analytics are really far behind from US major leagues. I am truly convinced, it is possible to build exciting and nice teams spending much lower sums than the likes of City and PSG. Real Madrid, for example, bought Vinícius and Rodrygo for a combined 90 million euros. IMO You have to cut the middle man, clubs like Benfica, Brighton for example. Instead of buying MacAllister after the World Cup, they should've done when he was loaned to Boca, when it was quite clear he was a class player. Moises Caicedo has been a big prospect for quite some time in south american. Buy him when he is at Independiente del Valle, instead of waiting to see if he can prove himself in Europe. I know there is a lot of risk, but Milan, for example, returned to the top of european football not when their chinese owners spent crazy money, but when a different ownership group focused on getting young players.

  10. We completely squandered our time with Klopp and that team that won the league. How many times have we been a point or two off city at the end of the season? Lost two champions league finals to Madrid. I’m certain we would have won more if Klopp had been properly backed like other managers at the top clubs.

  13. Wasn't sure where else to put this but wondered how much attention this story is getting in Germany. Have only read this BBC article, but wondered how the news is being perceived in Germany, if at all - @Tommy @Rucksackfranzose @Coma ? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-india-66477396 Baby taken away by the 'Jugendamt' in Germany, from her Indian parents in Sept 2021. Parents have limited restrictions in seeing her. Child authorities say there were severe injuries/abuse, but social workers say the parents were loving & caring, and doctors from India & US say there was no way abuse could have occurred, and injuries were worsened by all the examinations. Jugendamt have now stopped the parents seeing their child altogether.
