Yes. Because as I said, it's a lot less likely that they get offside decisions wrong. People seemingly have short memories. Main reason this incorrect offside call is a big deal is because it's not normal. And that's a good thing because before it was normal. Much rather have a terrible offside call 2 or 3 times a season rather than one every week. And those 2 or 3 times could easily be eliminated if the referees choose to do their jobs. Something made easy by VAR.2 points

I was gonna say the same thing. I guess they're gonna have to clearly state if the goal is onside or offside in order to avoid confusion. Something they probably should've been doing already.1 point

It's such a major clusterfuck. The whole "can't do anything" despite there being a clear and obvious error (ironically, the guidelines of VAR in the first place). I know people are always going to be rEferEEs r sH1t but there needs to be widescale changes, it's actually becoming untenable for the PGMOL and Webb to continue. For offsides, I really can't fathom why they simply can't let AI do the work, similar to goal line technology. The only decisions up for debate should be red cards.1 point

Now you made me doubt myself. But it is indeed the same actor. Jakob Diehl is his name.1 point

Louis Hofmann is somehow perfect for that role, feels like it was written for him...1 point

WEEKEND RESULTS Look at how much yellow there is in the right hand column - we had quite a few draws this weekend - and the majority of them have games tonight so a quick turnaround on choices is needed! @Viva la FCB is still unbeaten with St Pauli after another win. @Rucksackfranzose had success with Vilzing, @londonerlilie won with Newcastle and @Lucas beat Grimsby with his side Swindon. Another win for Grenoble puts myself in a better position in the league too. @Storts moves to Barrow, who face Grimsby next tonight. Top of the league @Stan loses with Leeds so moves to Southampton. That leaves draws for @RandoEFC, @Bluewolf, @CaaC (John), @nudge, @Coma and @Tommy - some of you play tonight so if you see this in time, let me know which team you want to go forward with out of your two options. Stan's loss and John's draw means the top of the table is tied! So much yellow (I hate it!).1 point

If they're mic'd up, the players would probably stop swearing at refs because they'll be more easily punished retroactively tbh. PGMOL should be doing all they can to give maximum transparency. The idea that they need to be transparent in baby steps is laughable. They've got so little integrity, they need to be making big strides to try to restore it. I'm still mostly curious about what they do about the refs refereeing in foreign leagues owned by the same people who own some clubs in the league. Michael Oliver's done a match in Saudi Arabia now & a match in the UAE - both own a club in the league. I think Michael Oliver's not allowed to referee Newcastle matches because he's a Newcastle fan - but what about any competitive rivals of Newcastle? Can he be trusted to be objective in the league if he's taken money from two of the owners of two other clubs with his side gigs? If we're not going to ban state ownership of clubs, and we're obviously not because it's far too late for that considering 2 states already own 2 clubs (and Qatar wants to buy another club in the league, don't they)... we've got to ban our referees from taking side gigs in any other country. Especially when the owners of the league are the same people who own clubs in the league they're meant to be refereeing for... but it's easiest to just ban them from taking any side gigs in any foreign leagues. Aside from protecting the officials from corruption and the appearance of corruption, it also removes the excuse of "whoopsy we're shit because we're tired since we had 2 9 hour flights in the past 3 days." PGMOL needs to have a higher ethical standard and at this point, I don't trust them to make their own ethical rules. I think the Premier League and Football League should be drafting an ethical standard of conduct for the referees that are going to officiate their matches.1 point

Yeah, in name only I think. Bombshell was made by a different developer on a different engine in a differente genre. The only gripe I have with Ion Fury is that finer details can be hard to see in this engine, so this sometimes makes it difficult to spot enemies or important details that will let you progress the game. Other than that it's a great game so far, based off the first zone I completed.1 point

WEEK 9 - PITIFUL After a slightly improved period, this weekend has served to wipe out all of the good as all eight players posted a loss for only the second time this season, making it the joint worst week of the season along with week two. It started early on with league leading @Machado losing on Bracknell's failure to score twice in their home game with Beaconsfield - falling to a surprise 0-3 defeat in what also takes the unwanted crown of being the shortest odds loser of the season, beating the current leader of @RandoEFC picking Chelsea to score twice at home to Forest. Hartlepool v Solihull ended 0-2, so a payout there. @CaaC (John) couldn't back up his big win. Atletico going 0-2 down but eventually beating Cadiz, however Atalanta could only muster a goalless draw with Juventus, so no winner this time. Thought I'd introduce a movement tab to show who has done what in the table relating to last week as I found it funny that the only riser in the table was the only one who didn't play. @Stan falls to a third straight loss with probably his poorest of the season yet. A surprisingly tame Basque derby produced only 40 booking points. Always think that a comprehensive victory for one team is a death knell for booking points. Guirassy's form dried up this week, Stuttgart taking a 0-2 victory at Koln but Brighton loanee Deniz Undav got both goals. @Pyfish came fairly close, impressively landing the Tonali booking, but Alvarez didn't score on the night as Man City exited the EFL Cup with a 1-0 loss at Newcastle. @Lucas came the closest to a winner this week, Fiorentina swatting aside Cagliari 3-0 but Fulham couldn't score past Chelsea, which cost the bet. @RandoEFC loses on the asian handicaps this week as PSG somehow manage to draw with bottom of the table Clermont. A game that cost me a bet as well, infuriatingly. Newcastle made no mistake and they seem to have gotten their early season issues put well to the side now. @...Dan still can't catch a break, his Dutch double pretty disastrous as both of his picks were beaten pretty comfortably at home and is still yet to taste victory. Once again, I have to finish talking about myself. 9 defeats from 9 and it really does just feel like a curse at this point when I can somehow produce a loser with those selections. The Arsenal selection wasn't miles off losing but I maintain that was great value. Man City however, just what the hell can you even say at this point? A dreadful week unfortunately.
