  1. Specialisation is a thing of the past, the clear delineation between positions and whatever FIFA/Footballer sub-position is a thing of the past. A varied set of skills is more important than being the best crosser in the world, but bad at shooting. That’s why Brydog is right about wingers, they aren’t the old midfielders playing out wide like Beckham and Giggs, they are forwards and need the skills to score goals as much as passing and crossing, but they still need the qualities and skills Beckham and Giggs had. It doesn’t matter if they are 170cm if they have the technique of header accurately they will score eventually. For example fullbacks are barely strict defenders anymore, they are transitional players that move the ball vertically, more like a well rounded midfielder, well that’s where I think they do most of their work anyway.

  3. Social media, especially the site formerly known as twitter, is full of people happy to pile on with hateful shite anytime anything comes up that is remotely close to whatever culture war shite is being promoted by the US news media. This has to do with whether or not women can do something on TV that's typically been a job reserved for men - so of course the chronically online who have nothing better to do with their lives than be useful idiots fighting culture wars online take to the culture wars. With something like "women can't talk about football on TV as good as men can" - that's going to get a huge number of misogynists and incels bitching and moaning about women. Yes, they should be more focused on trying to lose their virginities and fixing their miserable personalities that have them sad and lonely. But that's difficult, whereas being hateful little shits that blame women for all of life's problems comes easy to them.

  4. Joey Barton is a massive twat. His family is full of nasty people, but the only reason Joey's not considered the worst Barton is because his brother literally killed someone by taking an axe to their head. Or as Joey Barton would describe it "my brother went to jail for a little scrap." The less attention we give to him and his thoughts, the better. Some people are just better off ignored. It's commentary - a man or a woman can possess the same skills to be a good commentator, it's not like they have to physically compete to give football commentary. Same with pundits.

  5. I can read I just don't give a shit because Bayern's U17's are comfortably better than any of our youth clubs. I can't say I've seen Chavez but I thought he was another filler player from abroad, but those stats do tell me something. I just hope that he actually gives something on the pitch and doesn't show up for the odd goal

  7. American Evangelicals are proselytizing this idea everywhere that Israel is the biblical Israel and those who honor Israel will be blessed, Jews come back Jesus come back etc Even Japanese Korean Evangelical Christians were signing bombs to be dropped on Gaza. The irony of Japanese doing that This theology is called Dispensationalism and is rooted in the writings of John Nelson Darby. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dispensationalism But this theology really kicked off by a guy name C.I Scofield whose annotated Bible, Scofield Reference Bible, popularized the idea in U.S that creation of Israel and Jews coming back to build the Temple is necessary for Jesus to come back. After which he will give them (Jews) a final chance to believe in him otherwise... Scofield used Doctor of Divinity along with his name but no seminary in U.S has his name in his records. He was allegedly very close to a hardcore Zionist lawyer in New York who funded his career. The biography on his life discusses this in detail.

  8. Some of them are lowering their prices and offering discounts. Lesson for dumb masses for future instead of bitching about prices they can mitigate them by organize boycott.

  9. Personally, I don't like the matchup but for the purposes of getting lower league clubs into the semis that's a good draw. I'd say ourselves and Leverkusen are the favorites, so to have one of us go out next round is of benefit to the rest.

  10. There is definitely a problem for Man United that the players just aren't good enough. To be where Liverpool & Arsenal are. Although there are aspects (the midfields) of both of them I find unconvincing. For a few seasons I've genuinely felt I would not want to swap Douglas Luiz & McGinn for any United midfielders. Or too many others I've seen around. Can now also add in the goalkeeper position. And probably centre forward. Diaby, Bailey, Ramsey & Buendia vs Rashford, Garnacho, Sancho & whoever else? Tielemans vs Mount? A few YouTubers around (Mark Goldbridge) now suggesting Villa are where they are, on work rate. I guess everyone pulls for their own, but to not see era's changing around you, while wearing a Big 6 baseball cap, is what Roy Keane is often on about. Who, still biased & pulling for Man United, often makes more sense than some suggesting any from Maguire, Evans, Lindelof, Martinez & Varane are walking into Villa's side. And not seeing what is staring them in the face. They need the hunger to be changing an era, that is not theirs. Along with a better recruitment policy.

  12. I'd rather have female commentators and pundits in football than Joey Barton. He's just an asshole crying for attention. Absolute bellend.

  13. Females in any walk of life shouldn't need to justify their existence. Anyone that is wanting women out of sport/a sector is everything that is wrong with the world and needs to take a hard look at themselves - that goes for other groups too, such as those put to the side for their ethnicity, religious/sexual beliefs. My only two pence, is that there's a lot of false reporting (not sure the best phrase to use) in order to bump up the womens game. For example you'll hear "what a screamer from her!" when it actual fact it was with as much venom as a paper bag floating in the wind, or shouts that "X female" is just as good as Mbappe! I think it actually harms the game. If it was just genuinely accepted that right now, the women's sport is of a poor standard (with fucking bags of potential) it might not be such a controversial talking point. As someone with a daughter myself, giving females the platform to achieve anything they want in life is something I, and any other respectable person would want. TL;DR - Yes, in.
