  1. No, you are going down some weird rabbit hole and I’m calling you out. No one that is not ‘super bothered’ makes this thread and consistently doubles down on their opinion, not once have you said ‘Oh yeah maybe you are right I didn’t think of it that way, thanks’, you didn’t mean to instigate a discussion and come to a new synthesis, you just wanted to soap box these asinine observations echoed by the unhinged. Own up to it and don’t waive it off, either own that the racial switching/or ‘politicising’ bothers you, or take on some of the thoughtful critiques and come to a new conclusion with the new information and opinions you’ve been given.

  2. You aren’t getting at anything, you are just regurgitating standard conservative talking points without any sort of critical reasoning and have just doubled down by repeating the exact same points you read on a Daily Wire unpaid intern article. You’re being nebulous on purpose and are now trying to obfuscate your opinions by rewording them in the hopes you either convince someone you changed your mind, or you change their mind. You have also been actively avoiding answering questions from myself and @Dr. Gonzo I really want you to think about what you are upset about and why you came to that conclusion, and why you felt the need to vent these frustrations in this thread. You need to reflect on yourself, not Disney.

  6. Everton had to walk away from a £220m sponsorship deal for the new stadium because of Usmanov's links to Putin and then ended up getting docked 10 points when we were £20m over the limit of overspend and the lost sponsorship deal wasn't accepted as mitigation. I wonder why our fans think there are two different sets of rules for two different sets of clubs...

  7. AWB and Lindelof will more than likely moved on in the summer, I suspect we will get low transfer fees for both players and we'd rather that than lose both for free. Martial is a special case really, they've messed up big time giving him a massive deal off the back of a good period when his contract was up for renewal last time. He knows himself it's the end of the road this time round, he no longer has the ability to lift his game to secure a new deal so has accepted he's going this window or in the summer. United want him gone in January, whether we get a Saudi team come in is the only way we will fully offset his wages, if he want's a European club I think we will pay a portion of his salary for the next 6 months. Either way he's going in January, they wouldn't have played without cover for Hojlund all Christmas if he wasn't. Varane is the same, he's on nearly half a million a week and we've been lucky to get half a seasons worth of games out of him each season. It would make zero sense to sign him back on a deal near that figure. Unless he takes hugely reduced terms I think he will be leaving on a free transfer as well. Ineos look like they are getting things in shape to be fair as I suspect Varane would have been extend otherwise.

  8. https://twittter.com/SkySportsPL/status/1743000101763657960?s=20 Wow. This is exactly what the Abramovich administration did at Chelsea. Kept extending contracts of your Batshuayis and your Barkleys thinking somehow their value would increase & Chelsea could sell them for decent money. Triggering a one year extension on players like AWB and Lindelof is one thing. But they literally cannot give Martial away given the evidence of the last few years. He has no value to from a transfer sense. I’m surprised that this kind of thing is happening in this interim period until ineos complete. Unless they’ve sanctioned it in which case United are totally screwed.

  11. Because most people when confronted with new information make a Hegelian dialectic, that is a synthesis of two opposing ideas to create something new. You haven’t said anything I haven’t read before on conservative media sites or heard someone repeat ad nauseam, there is no dialectic for me to have, it’s already been done. You are just ignoring points people are making with repetition, you obviously don’t want a debate at all, as you literally being confronted with one from, right now, and instead of challenging or reflecting on anything I’ve said you’ve retreated into your shell and acting like I want to bully you . I am trying to help you here, some of the ideas and observations you have been asserting lately are incredibly worrying to me, I don’t care if we agree on stuff like this, I don’t care that your opinions differ, but I do care that you’re entering a rabbit hole that you can lost into and you literally ignore valid criticisms, this isn’t about Disney this is about everything lately, Disney is just a symptom, this is a topic that has been beat to death, and argued over for years already. I consider you a friend on here and someone that I want around, but this entry-level turning point USA reactionary thing you’ve got going has me incredibly concerned. You are bloody right that you aren’t thinking deeply at all. That’s some abrasion for you.

  12. I genuinely don't know what your point is. It wouldn't bother you if I started making a bunch of home movies that were all terrible because it doesn't affect your life in any way. Nor does it affect your life if Disney are making loads of bad movies. There's hundreds of thousands of them out there so why can't everyone just watch the content they like? Criticise Disney by all means but there's a million ways that films can be bad (in some people's opinion) and if it's bad lighting or bad writing or bad casting decisions then people comment on it and then move on with their lives. But when it's because the skin colour or other physical characteristics of a character or cast member are not what everyone is used to, this massive fuss gets kicked up and we're having debates about the entire direction of movie companies and their politics.

  14. I remember watching a video of a little black girl watching the trailer of that Little Mermaid film, and she burst into tears because she was so happy. Goes to show you how how underrepresented minorities were in being a lead in a story or in a movie. It meant so much to that little girl that I totally understood why it is important things like that happen more often. Especially since Ariel is a ficitional character, so why would people be so persistent that she has to be white? Unless they are indeed racist.

  15. The Walt Disney Company reported a net income of 2.35 billion U.S. dollars in the fiscal year of 2023. The company’s revenues for the quarter and year grew 5% and 7% compared to the prior-year quarter and prior year, respectively. The diluted earnings per share decreased over 2023, but that's mostly because their latest Marvel films have been dogshit and they have very little original content. It's got fuck all to do with weirdos being pissed off a mermaid in a live action film is black. Long term, Disney will be fine and if you buy Disney stock now it'll probably be a very solid investment. And like I said, I didn't say if you didn't see the film you're a racist. I didn't see the film. So one more time: If you care about the skin colour of a mermaid in a live action remake of a cartoon because of "the political message" you're probably a racist.

  17. 2023! Go fuck yourself. My year in a nutshell summed up by even more devastating news today. My uncle, my dad's brother and one the best and most funny men I've ever met has been diagnosed with cancer of the stomach. He's having an operation to remove it on the 2nd January and they will know how badly its spread. Feel like I've aged about 10 years this year. I've been totally and mentally depressed.
