  1. 2114 if you include the one out on Wednesday but yea, plenty to read there, The early issues probably won't hold much appeal to you bearing in mind they were first around in the late 70's but they do give you timelines and characters etc like the Cursed Earth Saga.. That would be an epic ask though, They do a sister Magazine called Judge Dredd The Megazine which is a monthly issue and that comes in at a more doable 404 issues so far... They occasionally do crossovers for the more lengthy episodes/storylines... The Current storyline is Block Buds, these are like giant play characters that act as friendly help around city blocks but when it goes tits up it goes seriously tits up..

  2. I have never read 2000ad... Should give it a go. Given that it's got over 2000 issues it's probably going to keep me busy for a while

  3. I started reading comics when I was a lot younger well before my teens but 2000ad stayed with me on and off, I remember buying the very first issue and at the time it was refreshing and unlike any other titles out there but I drifted in and out over the years and one day I came across a copy of Heavy Metal Magazine that was on sale so I gave it a quick read.. Loved it, The Art, the storylines the articles.. In the early days 2000ad appealed to the younger generation obviously but it grew with its fanbase and the stories became more adult and complicated as well as the art that went with it now they appeal to an older generation that grew up with it.. I have a whole load of them up in the loft somewhere and maybe I could sort through them at some point.. I would be interested in that link for Heavy Metal if possible.. I will send you a link to a place I found as well

  5. Never took you for a comic book fan @Bluewolf! I haven't read any of it since my early teens and now am slowly getting back into it. Won't bore you with all the titles in the Star Wars universe that I've read or am currently reading (Darth Vader one is absolutely amazing though ), but there are also a few others that I hold in high regard... Just started reading Saga a while ago. It's a weird sci-fi-fantasy-romance-war-adventure epic that has it all - there is magic, profanity, television-headed robots, intergalactic bounty hunters, nudity, endless warfare, complex villains, empathetic heroes, ghostly baby-sitters and spaceship trees, all beautifully realised in a distinctive digitally painted style. Love it. Another one - Valérian. A classic French sci-fi series first published in the late 60s and was arguably a Star Wars inspiration to a certain degree... It is a true space opera that takes the reader off into the universe of the distant future, where two agents, Valérian and Laureline, travel through time-space in a vessel chartered by Galaxity, the capital of the Earth Empire. Their travels are jam-packed with adventure, humor and fantasy. East of West - a science fiction Western set in a dystopian version of the United States whose fate rests with the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Descender- my new favourite. One young robot's struggle to stay alive in a universe where all androids have been outlawed and bounty hunters lurk on every planet. A rip-roaring and heart-felt cosmic odyssey that pits humanity against machine, and world against world, to create a sprawling space opera in the aftermath of the collapse of a great and shining human civilization. And then of course there's Heavy Metal... Recently found the whole archive online so slowly working through it... I'm still amazed with the art in it.

  6. Don't think they can redeem themselves at this point. Not after the atrocity that was The Last Jedi. Both Rogue One and Solo were interesting films and with the way things are going, more time and effort should be focused on these stories rather than the main story line. Given it is the final movie this year, reckon that will be their approach. Surely a Obi Wan movie in the making after what happened at the end of Solo?

  7. I don't think it's a major issue. The midfielders at right back are probably better options than Clyne in the games Trent will miss because of their ability on the ball. Gomez probably back in the middle of this run too. The only issue is that it takes away an option or two in midfield but we should get by with what we have given we're only playing one game a week

  8. I think of it this way, what quality player will come in the winter market? The chances are slim to none and most of that business properly concludes in the summer anyways. Its a big risk to take to go out and get a temporary replacement only to have shipped dross out the door and replace it with another shaky player.

  9. With Judge Dredd/Mega City One - Already under way here are a couple of the other 2000ad characters I would enjoy seeing converted into a series.... Bounty Hunter Johnny Alpha and his sidekick Wulf Sternhammer a Norseman who Alpha brought back with him from a time jump... His mutant ability is he has vision like an x-ray machine that can see through anything which gives him a serious edge when it comes to hunting down criminals.. such a range of characters and stories to explore it has plenty to work with... The premise of the series is that the Great Nuclear War of 2150 wiped out 70% of Britain's population and led to a huge increase of mutant births due to exposure to nuclear fallout (strontium-90). The mutants faced a high degree of racism, similar to that faced by the Jewish population of Nazi Germany. Laws were passed forbidding mutants from owning businesses and segregating them into ghettos such as a giant mutant settlement at Milton Keynes. Following the end of this storyline, in 2180, one of the few jobs left for mutants is that of bounty hunter, a job considered too dangerous for normal humans. The strongest of mutants hunt down criminals throughout the galaxy for the Search/Destroy agency, whose distinctive SD badges give them the nickname Strontium Dogs. The SD agents operate from an orbiting space station known as The Doghouse. The ABC Warriors ( Atomic Bacterial Chemical ) The A.B.C. Warriors are a team of war robots designed to withstand 'Atomic', 'Bacterial' and 'Chemical' warfare. They were built to take part in the long-running Volgan War, which Mills had described in several previous 2000 AD strips, including Invasion! and Ro-Busters. Each robot has a distinctive personality – often one programmed by its human creators – but each is more or less able to act with free will. When wars were fought using Robots instead of people this makeshift group of Robots are led by Hammerstein on various missions. Hammerstein you will have already had a glimpse of if you have seen the first Stallone version of Dredd. Don't hold out much hope for this one given the popularity of Transformers as they would seem on paper at least to be too similar...

  10. I'm honestly more in favour of having Fabinho play that central role since his ball control and distribution skills supersede Matip's so that adds an opening to have him or Virgil traverse up the pitch more to help the midfield out. Add to the fact that Fabinho tracks better from what I have seen and Milner would be a more ideal choice playing down the right side as he is our most versatile player.

  11. Yeah I think he came to Europe as a right back and it was at Monaco he moved to a central midfield

  12. What makes you think that? He was originally a RB I believe and has already showed his versatility by putting in a good performance at CB on Saturday

  17. Trademark MS Dhoni. 6 in the final over to help secure the win and tie the series for now. He looked absolutely exhausted though. Totally shattered in the final few overs but manages to summon up enough energy to whack Behrendorff for 6 in the first ball of the final over. Calmness personified as per, from Dhoni. Never, ever seems to panic.

  18. Your workplace give you money to exercise? I'd be much more inclined to get out and lose some weight if that was the case. Personally I've never smoked and never intend on doing but naturally know a lot of people who do smoke and the smell is just vile and makes me feel so sick. Luckily with the introduction of e-cigs, the smell isn't as bad.

  19. My workplace encourages that anyway. Not sure if everyone else's workplace has gone wellbeing mad in recent years but my work encourage getting up from my desk to the water cooler every hour and even give all employees an allowance of 500$ to pay for a gym membership or yoga lessons...

  20. Solo 6.5/10 Decent watch. Couldn't get over how short the actor portraying Han was, however he did a believable job. Much like Rogue One, the ending bumped it up a single point. Can only assume an Obiwan film will be made that will go into detail about how in the fuck this bloke is still alive. Those who've seen it know what I'm talking about. Star Wars stories shite all over the main story line

  25. Knowing our eldest grandson he will stick bloody birds in the glass cage for his Gecko!! The daughter has had the rats out of the cage and holding them in her hand, she said they are not timid now and she will have them out of the cage more often I reckon as she does not like seeing animals closed up in small cages and Connor will have his Gecko running around I can bet you on that, Denise fed the rats some strawberries yesterday and she said they noshed them down, she has completely fallen in love with them. I know she will look after them and make sure Connor looks after his Gecko as she was in the RSPCA with me years ago taking care of animals, if me and the wife were not that old now we would have got some pets like a cat, I love cats.
