  3. Late Saturday night my partners waters broke. She blames me creating a party atmosphere after Odsonne Edouard's debut. Anyway the waters broke but my partner never went in to labour. They gave her Oxytocin Monday afternoon which led to abnormally painful contractions. She was in the very small number of people that Epidurals have zero effect on. After 13 hours of being witness to what I can only describe as a live exorcism she had just dilated 3 centimetres as the baby wouldn't put his head in the engaged position and he was now very distressed. The doctors called for an emergency C-Section and thankfully that's where our luck changed. The spinal worked on my partner and Noah entered the world at 0718 weighing 6.7lbs. Him and mother have been doing very well and they're hopeful they'll be released tomorrow.

  8. Good news, my uncle left the hospital after 24 days. On a negative note though, two of my sisters co-workers tested positive, my sister and another doctor are the only ones in their sector who still are able to work. It feels like it´s only a matter of time before she´s infected. Brazil is on its way to overtake the US and become the epicenter of the disease in the coming weeks. It shouldn´t have come to this but unfortunately we have a sociopath as president.

  18. RESULTS I forgot that I was away for the week so apologies for the delay in results. Let's get us up to date! Just to make it easier, if your team drew any of the matches since the last update, you'll have automatically stayed with them as nobody has posted or sent messages to tell me they want to move. We start with the matches played on Friday 5th August, and go all the way through to yesterdays fixtures. Let's hope we can keep up with it! 26 games to catch up on - eek. @Toinho - Started with Crystal Palace and lost 2-0 to Arsenal but then followed that up with a win with Arsenal. @nudge - After 3 games without a win, they finally picked up their first win of the season with a second win coming straight after! @Mel81x - A move to Sandhausen for Mel as they lost with Dusseldorf, before moving again to Karlsruher @Bluewolf - Not a great start to the new season with a 2-0 loss with Villa to Bournemouth, before losing 4-0 with the Cherries against Manchester City. @Lucas - A 1-0 defeat to Chelsea meant a move to London, before a 2-2 draw at the weekend means they can choose between Chelsea or Tottenham @CaaC (John) & @RandoEFC - Leeds were victorious over Wolves so Rando joined John in West Yorkshire, but a 2-2 draw at the weekend means they can split off if one chooses Southampton and one chooses Leeds. @Stan - Started the new season with a 2-0 win over Forest with Newcastle, before a 0-0 draw with Brighton so it's Newcastle or Brighton @Pyfish - Lost to Walsall with Newport, before winning in the EFL Cup to stay with Walsall, before a draw back in the league, where I've decided to stay with Walsall @Tommy & @Viva la FCB - Regensburg and Nurnberg drew 0-0 so both stayed with their own teams but then both moved to new clubs after losing their next games! @Coma - 2 wins for Darmstadt in a row means a run of form is starting and a climb up the table @Rucksackfranzose - Kaiserslautern beat St Pauli so it was a change of team, before they lost to Paderborn @Aladdin - A good start to the season as Osasuna beat Sevilla 2-1. @Dr. Gonzo - Lazio were the starter team and won 2-1 despite both teams having a man sent off @DeadLinesman - The only remaining player not to have played their first game - it is tonight! Here are the results in full - the table is a little squished so put your reading glasses on... So with all but one of our players now in action, here's how the table looks! And finally, here are the next set of fixtures And breathe. I'm not doing that many games at once again

  29. Welcome back. There have been a few changes to the forum to help limit the number of resources we're using to help keep the forum afloat. As standard everyone can still use the forum normally and post wherever they want, although I've changed a few things: There is now a 30 second flood control which includes things like the unread content tab (every refresh is a new query to the db) Signatures have been disabled The number of reputations you can give out is now 2 per day (this one seems dumb but the reputation table on the database is the 3rd biggest one which surprised me when I was looking at ways to cut back) Previously donators could upload images and videos to the server although this has been limited to just images under a new subscription scheme. All of these things will be available or be unlimited through a subscription (not mandatory but it will help with costs) that'll hopefully help balance the costs vs the resources battle we've had since we moved off our original server. ___ Discord will still exist alongside the forum since it seems to work better for live events like F1 although, for the most part, the Discord will be tidied up to accommodate the fact the forum has returned. I've also added a new payment option called Stripe which is an alternative to PayPal and lets you subscribe to the forum without creating any new accounts. The donation button has been removed as I'm hopeful that the £3.50 is low enough to get more people on board and help keep the forum funded on a monthly basis.

  30. Results 2/3 weeks late on this due to a lot going on in the real world but here goes! As ever, when I forget to do results, if you drew a game, I've kept you where you are unless it's the most recent game. The posh graphics for some reason aren't working for fixtures and results so let's go old school for this set! To make it easier, here's a watered down version of the results. @nudge - Won 6-1 with Bayern > Won again @Lucas, @RandoEFC and @CaaC (John) - Won with Arouca > Lost to Rio Ave @Tommy - Lost to Hannover > Drew with Holstein Kiel Pyfish - Lost to Bradford > Won with Bradford > Lost to Northampton @Stan & @Bluewolf - Lost to Brighton > Lost to Aston Villa @Toinho - Lost to Real Madrid @Rucksackfranzose - Lost to Greuther Furth > Drew with Darmstadt @Viva la FCB & @Coma - Won with Darmstadt > Drew with Greuther Furth @Dr. Gonzo - Won twice with Liverpool @Beelzebub & @Mel81x - RB Leipzig won so Mel moved to Leipzig > Leipzig won again. @DeadLinesman - Won with PSG Table The standings table is looking a lot worse for me as all the teams below me now have considerable games in hand over me and not that many points behind! Fixtures And that's it for November - see you again in December - with some of you not back in action until January! And again, the graphics don't work so back to the trusty Excel for this week!

  31. RESULTS Another bumper one as I forgot to post the midweek results. Same case as always, if your team played twice and they drew the first game, I've kept you at your first team. @Viva la FCB's Darmstadt beat their highest opposition in DfB Pokal so therefore he stayed with them, where they then faced @Coma's Holstein Kiel which resulted in a draw so both players can have a choice of where they play next out of those two teams. @nudge's spell at Lubeck ended after 14 games after a loss to Mainz in the cup, however the silver lining is that Lubeck lost their next league game anyway. Mainz then went on to win their league game 5-0 so a good start to nudge's new team! @Toinho drew against Cadiz but then lost to Atletico so he now moves to them. 2 more wins for Real Madrid and for @Beelzebub makes it 11 games for them together now. St Pauli lost out to Freiburg in the DfB Pokal so @Mel81x moved up a league where they then beat Werder Bremen. It was two 1-0 scorelines for @Stan and @Bluewolf as they beat West Ham 1-0 with Liverpool, before then being beaten 1-0 by Nottingham Forest. As for @Rucksackfranzose, his Paderborn team beat Werder Bremen in the cup, before drawing with Braunschweig back in the league. @Tommy lost to Dusseldorf, who then went on to win their next game - hopefully back on track for Tommy now? 30 points from 10 games for @Dr. Gonzo with Napoli keeps him top of the table after a 1-0 win over Roma. I choose to stay with Grimsby after a draw with Bradford, @DeadLinesman won again with PSG, and the bottom three of @Lucas, @CaaC (John) and @RandoEFC drew their game. And here's the next bunch of fixtures which I'll hopefully do the results on time for!

  32. I have no sympathy for any player that joined them this summer. Raphinia, Christianson and Kounde all had good contracts lined up for them at Chelsea but they chose to put on there birdbox cloth over there eyes and chase the Barcelona fantasy that died when Neymar left. The same with Lewandowski who 'fancied a new challenge'. All you have to do is look at how legends of the club have been treated, the mental transfer spending, the way they're forcing out players with smear campaigns and the Frenkie De Jong story to know something is seriously wrong. It needs one of the Governing Bodies to impose some form of transfer ban to save the club from itself. This gambling of a Super League that only three clubs seem willing to participate in at present is crazy and something UEFA shouldn't be best pleased about. If the stories about Martin Braithwaite holding out for his full pay are true then he should be hailed as a hero. He was signed in completely unreasonable circumstances and the smear campaign pointing out his wealth through his property investments is completely unreasonable. If they release him because he won't take a pay cut without paying his wages he's going to get a lot more than the club owe him now at court.

Was genuinely expecting to leave college last year with grades that could get me into Roehampton or London Met, nothing against the Uni’s either, but my grades were phenomenally better than I anticipated and I’m so glad I waited a year to go to Uni otherwise I wouldn’t have had the chance to pick Manchester or King’s. Just waiting back on LSE now.

  47. The Spanish Flu was a catastrophic illness and far more lethal than this disease. Coming right off the back of the first world war, it ravaged an already dehabilitated society but I'm not sure society stopped like it is doing here. People carried on, I see no reason that healthy people should be quarantining now, it makes no sense. In Europe infections are rising but serious illness is not, there is growing evidence that this disease will become like the Cold/Flu another disease which we have to live with. It's not nice but we are human beings, being alive is a risk. I think some people want us to have 100% certainty they won't get ill before doing anything, that's not going to happen. Now that's not to dismiss people's concerns, of course we should be protecting the vulnerable (I wouldn't require anyone with a health condition or who lives with someone with one, to return to work etc) but the rest of us should be prepared to take a bit of the strain here. We need to keep things going otherwise there are going to very serious repercussions and may lead to far more death than we are seeing now. If the depression is as big as the 1920s then I guarantee you we will see a return to far right/far left politics in Europe. We were already heading that way, a massive depression will just tip it over. I don't mean to sound crude, I absolutely respect people's worries but I fear the 'cure' is going to be just as bad as the disease. We fucked up at the beginning (I hold my hands up in being as much of a fool as anyone) but I don't see any forward thinking now. Why haven't we got a quicker testing? If we could test results in a hour or so it would revolutionise what we could do.
