  1. As I've turned over a new leaf, I shall refrain from engaging in any further childish nonsense. We will see how the season pans out.

  2. It's such a mess, I hoped that for once we would have the squad all sorted early in the pre-season, but it seems this will again take a loooong time to finalise. At this point, I just hope both Rashica and Klaassen stay, even if it means going into the new season with Erras as the only DM.

  3. Well I did start watching it and saw up to one of the fights at the lighthouse but nodded off at some point and didn't go back to it so missed all that.. Sounds like one of those ones that leaves you scratching your head at the end of it.. Can just imagine having to try and explain it to someone at work the next day...

  4. That was one part of it, yes. There was also masturbating, having imaginary sex with a mermaid, brutally beating a seagull to death.... being eaten by seagulls. I don't understand, man.

  5. I can't even explain. I'm sure some movie fancy pants saw the art in it, for me it was just confusing as hell. Then I thought it's almost over and I still had 40 minutes to go. The acting was good, but the movie was just... very odd.

  6. Ignore him. Bloke lost all credibility and sanity in the Willian transfer thread.

  7. I love hearing that. He has always been a bit difficult growing up, but he has a good heart and does everything for his friends and family. When he left the academy and went back to the US, all coaches and other kids were in tears.

  8. New aerial surveys of Australia's Great Barrier Reef show the most widespread and severe bleaching the coral reef has experienced. The damage follows record high temperatures in February. Scientists at James Cook University have issued a dire warning about the threat posed by climate change to the world's largest living organism and say temperatures over the next month are critical to how the reef recovers.

  9. Probably Storm Francis you're experiencing. I don't think we'd feel the effects of Hurricane Laura just yet? Plus that's hitting Louisiana as opposed to the east coast of USA.

  11. Did you know Australia and the UK (and Australia) almost went to war in the 1930s? The British Government was pressuring the Australian Government to repay the 'debt' of the military supplies given to Australian to help in WW1. So the UK asks Australia to help with their war, gives them equipment to facilitate involvement, and then expects to be paid back for everything. The Prime Minister wasn't a powerful office at the time and had his hands full with the NSW Premier Jack Lang that outright refused to pay the 'debt' the UK, stating that it was illegal as it would reduce the Australian economy and people to 'slaves' of the UK. The PM was allied with the UK and had the (weakened) military on his books, but Jack Lang had the police on his books, leading to staunch confrontations that luckily never ended in violence. I cannot stress how close the country came to collapsing over this crisis, Lang's actions of moving state money into holding of a private bank (to prevent being funds being paid to the UK) were deemed illegal and his government was dissolved, but not without half of Sydney protesting the result.
