  1. My wife and my baby boy visiting me in Germany

  2. Late Saturday night my partners waters broke. She blames me creating a party atmosphere after Odsonne Edouard's debut. Anyway the waters broke but my partner never went in to labour. They gave her Oxytocin Monday afternoon which led to abnormally painful contractions. She was in the very small number of people that Epidurals have zero effect on. After 13 hours of being witness to what I can only describe as a live exorcism she had just dilated 3 centimetres as the baby wouldn't put his head in the engaged position and he was now very distressed. The doctors called for an emergency C-Section and thankfully that's where our luck changed. The spinal worked on my partner and Noah entered the world at 0718 weighing 6.7lbs. Him and mother have been doing very well and they're hopeful they'll be released tomorrow.

  6. Yesterday, they rescued two persons that spent over 11 days under the rubble; it's nothing short of a miracle to me, as like you said, the more time passes, the more unlikely it becomes. Heart melting video.

  10. Welcome back. There have been a few changes to the forum to help limit the number of resources we're using to help keep the forum afloat. As standard everyone can still use the forum normally and post wherever they want, although I've changed a few things: There is now a 30 second flood control which includes things like the unread content tab (every refresh is a new query to the db) Signatures have been disabled The number of reputations you can give out is now 2 per day (this one seems dumb but the reputation table on the database is the 3rd biggest one which surprised me when I was looking at ways to cut back) Previously donators could upload images and videos to the server although this has been limited to just images under a new subscription scheme. All of these things will be available or be unlimited through a subscription (not mandatory but it will help with costs) that'll hopefully help balance the costs vs the resources battle we've had since we moved off our original server. ___ Discord will still exist alongside the forum since it seems to work better for live events like F1 although, for the most part, the Discord will be tidied up to accommodate the fact the forum has returned. I've also added a new payment option called Stripe which is an alternative to PayPal and lets you subscribe to the forum without creating any new accounts. The donation button has been removed as I'm hopeful that the £3.50 is low enough to get more people on board and help keep the forum funded on a monthly basis.

  11. I have no sympathy for any player that joined them this summer. Raphinia, Christianson and Kounde all had good contracts lined up for them at Chelsea but they chose to put on there birdbox cloth over there eyes and chase the Barcelona fantasy that died when Neymar left. The same with Lewandowski who 'fancied a new challenge'. All you have to do is look at how legends of the club have been treated, the mental transfer spending, the way they're forcing out players with smear campaigns and the Frenkie De Jong story to know something is seriously wrong. It needs one of the Governing Bodies to impose some form of transfer ban to save the club from itself. This gambling of a Super League that only three clubs seem willing to participate in at present is crazy and something UEFA shouldn't be best pleased about. If the stories about Martin Braithwaite holding out for his full pay are true then he should be hailed as a hero. He was signed in completely unreasonable circumstances and the smear campaign pointing out his wealth through his property investments is completely unreasonable. If they release him because he won't take a pay cut without paying his wages he's going to get a lot more than the club owe him now at court.

  14. Bit late but here's some pics of my trip to Krakow, minus the Auschwitz one's I'd already posted seperately. All the snowy pics are from a day trip to Zakopane, in the mountains. Amazing place. Apologies for the spam, just skip if you like

  15. I haven't shared this before but ive never been so depressed about the future of this country. I have a fairly stable job that pays well but if my mortgage was up for renewal I'd have to sell as there's no way I'd be able to make repayments at 6%. I live in what was until about six months ago an attractive place for people in there 20's and 30's to buy because we have fast trains to London. Not any more. There's so many houses up for sale either because landlords have had enough or people need to downsize urgently. I've already had to make 'smart sacrifices' with my quality of life in preparation for the energy bills to come in but were so reliant on electricity its really difficult to do so. I've never needed to live on credit cards but I think by next year that's a likely situation. I've never been anxious about the future but this is the first time I'm beginning to feel it. Even when Brexit happened and Covid started I felt confident that 'in five years things will change' but I don't get that vibe any more. I feel I may have been naive and over estimated the competency of all the top seeded politicians in this country. It saddens me the things we used to take for granted my Son may not have the luxury of doing when he grows up. Like shopping trips to America because the £ was so strong and drinking regularly in the choice of any pub/club. Pints were close to three pounds when I was 18. They're now around seven pound + where I grew up and I know my yearly wage hasn't doubled. That's a minor example but you get my drift.

  16. So i am back after roughly more than two years away? Lot of things happened to me good and bad over the two years. I moved to Germany in December and recently found a flat and now waiting for a Visa for my wife and the new member of the TB gang my one year old son. Yeah became a dad too last May, so that is exciting. My mum also passed away a month before my move to Germany last year in November and i had so little time to accept it all if i accepted it at all. Currently in a transition period as i look to move to a different job and connect with my family. The last year and a half was filled with ups and downs so much happened in a short period that put so much pressure on my mind. However things are starting to click, my hard work and efforts here are paying off in a way. So looking forward to the future for the first time in quite some time. Hope you guys and your loved one's are well

  25. Here is the final table for 2022-23 Second place in the Eredivisie round sees @nudge complete a clean sweep of top three finishes and round off a dominant season at the top of the standings - congratulations! @Dan's 2 points in the final round are just enough to keep 2nd place ahead of @Stan, who rockets up the standings to finish on the podium having given us just the second double-figured score of the season in the final round. At the other end, @Rucksackfranzose scored 90% of his season tally in the final round to drag himself off the bottom of the table and leave @CaaC (John) as the lowest scorer of those who entered every round. It was also a quiet season for two-time champion @Viva la FCB. Thanks to everyone who took part this season - see you in August!

  26. This is why Women don't bother coming forward and reporting sexual harrasment. There gets to a point where the victims refuse to testify anymore after the ordeal of all the court procedures. Sometimes it can take forever for cases to be resolved. Even then, other cases are deemed higher priority. It's easy for victims to become despondant. We saw photos. We heard video recordings. She has bruises, blood from her nose. I've no qualms as going on record and saying he is a very, very lucky man. The system is broken. Less than 1% of sexual offence reports end in a conviction. Thousands don't get reported because of the lack of belief in seeing justice. So what hope is there until the Government do something to correct this? We've seen people get off before, and will continue to do. More needs to be done to allow Women (or Men) to have the balls to come forward and feel they have the backing and support to seek justice. As for Greenwood, he's a young man who has got a second chance in life that he's very lucky to have. Rightly or wrongly, he has to take that. That's all I can say about him right now. But whilst he may be innocent in Black and White on paper, there will always be a contentious Grey cloud that follows him now and he'll never escape it.

  27. It's been a little while since we went now but here are some pictures from our holiday to Croatia. ...And for a little brucie bonus, we took this shot of Mostar Bridge on a day trip to Bosnia which was an experience. Thoroughly recommend it if you haven't been and all of that was without even getting down to the heavily tourist infected Dubrovnik.

  30. Mexico was hot literally and figuratively. Never been there in the summer before but man was it a great place to recharge and relax. We've been to the resort once before just before COVID and it's some of the best beaches in the Mayan Riviera plus it's a massive compound (6 hotels on it). Ventured a bit, did a fishing trip and went to Chichen Itza (hadn't been there in about 12 years), went to a few different cenote's and snorkeled a bunch. Ive got a tonne to sort through but here's some for pics for now!

  31. Made "Chicken Kiev" from scratch for the first time. It turned out a lot better than I had anticipated. But there's still room for improvement and I know what to do better next time. Still pleased with the outcome though. The whole thing took me 2 1/2 hours.

  36. Oops, sorry! There were a few snorkeling tours around but we didn't do it. We had the option to but chose a few different excursions instead. If anyone ever goes Jamaica, Dunn's River Waterfalls is an absolute must. It's hard to put in to words just how good that experience is - you can climb the waterfalls with a tour guide and it's so worthwhile.

  38. I am no longer positive with COVID, according to my most recent test. I've had no booster, but I'm double jabbed. I'd say for me it was about as mild as it could have possibly been - only really symptomatic for a few hours on one day. Other than that, pretty much felt fine. I've heard that some mild-moderate cases can be quite unpleasant though.

  46. I have exactly fulfilled the requirement profile. I am German and was the first to name a team. In this respect, you are now either a fan of Jeddeloh II or you can look for a new forum. It's as simple as that. Everything has already been discussed with Benson, @Stan, @nudgeand @CaaC (John). Stan has also agreed to help you find a forum without commission. Due to the difficult current Covid situation, however, it will probably not be a football forum.
