  2. That vile couple who tormented and neglected their 6 year old child to such a degree that he ended up dying. Revenge is sweet. Karma is a bitch.

  5. I think what he means is that many footballers, especially in developing regions, come from underprivileged backgrounds where they were poor and treatedly badly by the society BEFORE becoming professional footballers, so once they start earning their living from playing football, they prioritise money above everything else based on their prior life experiences.

  6. Good to see members rise up and reject the motion. Seems to me that control of your club is far more important than what league you play in.

  9. Not angry, not even disappointed, I just don't care. Totally predictable performance and outcome against a side who routinely go and do that against mid-table/bottom half fodder, which is what we are, every week. No reason to expect any different because it's a derby. Anyone who thinks "the form boom goes out the window" in the derby hasn't been paying attention for a good 20 years or so. In isolation you can shrug games like this and City off but not when you go throwing in shite losses to Wolves, Watford and Brentford amidst the more inevitable humpings. 8 games without a win now. No manager can outrun that form regardless of how bad of a mess he inherited. Fans can't even be arsed to boo properly at the end. Most of them just given up like me. Hard to bring yourself to care when you see the same players that have now spent a good one-third to half of their top level career picking up a pay packet you could only dream of whole jogging around getting 4-5 different managers sacked. At least if we had a style of play or some exciting youngsters starting to make their careers there'd be something to get behind but right now there just isn't. No relationship with the manager, very few likeable or relatable players, nothing coming from the academy, no chance of signings in January and even if there were, we just expect the recruitment from upstairs to make things even worse anyway.

  10. Still such an odd concept to me. "Money talks" If I'm a top level player, then no matter where I play I'm going to earn more money than I can reasonably spend. Even if I played for say, Everton, and was world class, they'd pay me out the nose, not so much as man city or Chelsea, but they'd pay me 200k a week no sweat. Once your on that level, I think any intelligent persons priorities should be filling your cabinet and building a legacy. Either making yourself very special to one club, at the expense of silverware and playing in some different environments(Stevie G, Reus), or playing at many top clubs in many countries, maybe undermining your legacy at any one of those clubs, but building a bigger one overall (Ronaldo, Ibra) Money is an afterthought. Once I'm earning 10+ million per season, I couldn't give a fuck what offer Madrid make me, they can shove their collection of greedy individuals up their ass.

  21. The league didn't approve Kind's application. Hannover's board that time tried to amend the club's statutes so that Kind could take over anyway. The members protested and voted a new supervisory board, so that those amendments couldn't go on, though. We got a thread about that, will have a look and link it.

  23. I can't stand Hannover but that's not true, they even added 50+1 to the club statutes in the latest annual member meeting to ensure that Kind or other investors couldn't takeover even if the league dropped the 50+1 rule. https://www.transfermarkt.de/hannover-mitglieder-entscheiden-50-1-regel-jetzt-teil-der-satzung/

  24. My opinion on investors should be well known by now. Not too worried since this intention pops up every now and then- the potential investors usually change their minds, if the implications of the 50+1 rule and the resistance of (at least) parts of the club member dawn on them.

  28. Quite like the Jon Champion/Ally McCoist combination. I do miss Barry Davies commentating. Too many commentators, pundits, and presenters try to be the star of the show nowadays, thinking people are there to listen to their inanity rather than watch football.

  31. I think the weird thing is that there is no inherent reason why the successful teams need to be totally out of Everton's reach. When you strip Everton back to the material facts, they've got a big support and they've got resources which most top flight clubs across Europe would look at as being borderline-superclub levels. For example, I'd guess that the difference between Celtic and Everton, resources wise, is much bigger proportionally than the difference between Everton and Liverpool. And it's not like Celtic are some super efficiently-run club like Salzburg or Ajax. But I'd still expect the game to be competitive. I'd probably expect to lose because yeah financially the odds are against us, but I wouldn't think of it as a write-off just because their budget is a few times bigger.

  32. WEDNESDAY'S RESULTS Our next games are on Friday so let's do the midweek results early! - After their draw with Manchester United at the weekend, both @Stan and @RandoEFC decided to stay at Chelsea, which turned out to be a good decision as they beat Watford last night - 3 wins in 3 for me now with Inter means I'm slowly making my way back up the table, but for how long? - In their first match with Real Madrid, @ROBBIEFC picked up a win and 3 points - The only loss of the round came for @Lucas who ends a good run with Rennes to move to Lille Table Fixtures

  36. The fact that we're rolling out 3rd booster jabs and starting to speculate on when we'll get the updated 4th(?) jab to combat the new variant while third world nations are sitting on a 1% vaccination rate if they're lucky certainly leaves a bad taste in the mouth and should be a source of real embarrassment for the Western blob for sure.

  39. I think last season (in the group game where we played Jota when we didn't need to and he got a lengthy injury layoff) Klopp said something about how the money for each CL group match win is pretty high so he's encouraged to try to win those. I think it's a going to come down to a balance between a business decision and a football decision whether we rest those players. But from a footballing perspective, it's a no brainer - go full strength vs. Everton and rest players in the CL.

  41. Plot twist: Hannover 96's members elected exclusively candidates, who opposed the statute's change in question for the supervisory board, who appoint the board/directorate. Reckon this could mean the 50+1-rule violating amendments don't come into effect, which would make the DFL punishment redundant. https://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/bundesliga/startseite/745209/artikel_hannover_kinds-gegner-gewinnen-wahl-deutlich.html
