  1. Yeah they would. Yeah that’s unfortunately very true and very common, pretty fucked up tbh. I dunno how some people can be so self-absorbed on holiday they can forget that the staff at their destination are humans too. I landed yesterday so far I’m having a good time in Maui though.

  2. Queue jumping, bad manners, rudeness etc. is one thing and it's indeed very common everywhere; treating locals as if they are inferior and only there to serve is what makes my blood boil.

  3. Was amazing. Pictures don't really do it justice so that in itself hopefully tells just how good!

  4. Just a week. Nothing really special planned. Gonna go to a traditional Luao (dunno if I’ve spelled that right) for our dinner plans tonight. Other than that no real firm plans other than driving the Road to Hana & going to the National Park here. Well other than I’ve got firm plans to spend time at the beach, by pools, and to do a lot of hiking. We might play golf if I can convince my wife, but I don’t think I’ll be able to… Oh and going to Mick Fleetwood’s restaurant because I’ve heard he’s there a lot so meeting a founding member of Fleetwood Mac is a possibility Cheers mate! Hope I’m assuming you’re back from your trips? Those pics looked great, hope it was as fun as the pictures made it look.

  6. My friend intervened once with queue jumping in Turkey by Germans, they were very arrogant ignored him and carried on to the front of the queue for the boat. Think some of all races are like this though until recently Europeans and Americans travelled more.

  7. Precisely my thought, too. It's just another example of his lack of leadership. 'no one told me'. It's not his fault and never is, according to him. Probably looks in the mirror and thinks he's had a jolly good day every day.

  8. Why would the Prime Minister have to be told that it was against the rules?

  9. That kind of rude behaviour and attitudes towards locals rooted in deluded feelings of superiority is sadly quite widespread among western - especially American and British - tourists in developing countries, in my personal experience. It's hard not to intervene sometimes.

  10. A successful night for Chelsea Speaking of Chelsea. The Blues had a very good night at the Fifa Best Awards. Thomas Tuchel won the award for the Best Fifa men's coach for guiding Chelsea to their second Champions League title after only joining the club in January. Edouard Mendy won the award for the Best Fifa men's goalkeeper after a successful first season with the club. Emma Hayes won the award for the Best Fifa women's coach as her side won a treble of domestic trophies. And Jorginho and N'Golo Kante were named in the men's world XI.

  11. Usually, I have an immediate aversion to romantic appointments because they very rarely work. Lampard didn't. Solskjaer didn't. Arteta is very, very debatable but I would say that he hasn't. However, Everton have gone with the tried and true and it hasn't worked. To me, it always felt as if Koeman and Ancelotti thought they were too big for the club (that's a criticism of them, not a negative statement on Everton's size as a club) and that they thought they were doing them a favour by just being there. I know Silva has had to work his way back up from the Championship since it went wrong for him at Everton but it looked as though he had thoughts that Everton were a stepping stone. Rooney would see it differently, he has shown admirable loyalty in difficult circumstances with Derby (he could have said "fuck this!" in the summer and walked away) and has shown sufficient qualities to suggest that he deserves a chance there. If you consider Solskjaer's experience was in the Norwegian league and relegating Cardiff with a horrible brief period in the Championship and Arteta had never managed in his own right before he got the Arsenal job, then yes, Rooney would be a shout as the position Derby are in is nothing short of remarkable with what he has at his disposal.

  12. Spain has now said he won’t be able to perform on any of Spain’s ATP tournaments unless he gets vaccinated. I’m starting to feel sorry for him now. Trying to get his agent’s number because there’s a hole in the fence of my local park’s tennis courts and I know where that hole is. He can play there. Although the park keeper is a bit of a nutter... He chases after people with his wheelbarrow.

  16. First of all that's pretty impressive considering they started the season without even a starting eleven of senior players. Secondly, asking "good enough for Everton" isn't how it works. By that logic, Champions League winner Benitez should have been amazing and he was shite. Martinez won an FA Cup, Koeman had mixed it in the European spots with Southampton, Ancelotti is now at Real Madrid walking La Liga having won their first trophy of the season this weekend already. They were all plenty "good enough for Everton" but none of them brought us success. The best manager we've had in our lifetime is David Moyes (depressing I know but clearly true). When we brought him in, he came from Preston in the Championship and Everton was the biggest managerial job he'd had by a long way. Experience and current standing should be taken into account but to dismiss someone as "not good enough" because they've never managed at the level is far too simplistic. You need to get the right guy based on a range of criteria and while it would be far from an ideal signing, I'd rather go for it than Martinez or Nuno Santo.

  17. Here, "true colour" image on the left with HSO colour mapping after assigning RGB colours to narrowband channels (Hydrogen as red, Sulfur as green, and Oxygen as blue). That image then gets processed additionally to balance the colours and get the details out, resulting in the image on the right.

  18. Bloody hell. Look at the timeline: This is obviously an uninhabited island, but other ones also suffered extensive damage. Their communications are mostly cut off. 3 deaths confirmed so far.

  19. not really. Some are very special specimens of people and you can tell quite obviously, others are on the other end of the scale. The other thing I forgot to mention, and was the only slant on the holiday, is that Americans are very rude, abrupt, abrasive and arrogant in their attitude towards staff. Not saying its all Americans obviously as it'd be a massive generalisation, but the ones we saw on holiday were. I don't want to claim its a race thing as there's no evidence of such, but you know when it's just in someone's persona? Basically they just love to boss the staff around, all black staff I add. The way they'd ask the staff for things was mad. Very bossy - instead of just politely asking for something, it's more like 'get me this... Get me that'. Like what you'd see a master do to a slave. It was disturbing at times. Oh, and most of the Americans we saw at our resorts were fat. Obesely so. Some morbidly obese.
