  1. Superb season again. A real benchmark for what can be achieved through excellent management, great player development and smart recruitment. Should be proud as I’m sure you are of the team you have right now. One of the very best the league has ever seen. Only robbed of another title by a dodgy state run club, who admittedly are brilliant, but very different in their composition to how you’ve been put together.

  2. @Happy Blue if you did want to go with something cheaper than the PodGo... here's what I've got, with a demo by Ola too:

  3. Actually, and I'm honest here, it's short-sighted the messure a league's competition level only by the fact, which team won the title. Also Real Madrid won more Spanish titles, than Bayern won German ones, although the Spanish championship is younger than the German. To be frank, English people pointing at the Buli with the note of failure to compete has more to do with the English inability to give German football any credit - highlighted by their delusional claim England and Germany were rivals on International level, although Germany won 7 big titles compared to England's 1- than with reality. That said I share many people's desire for a champion that aren't Bayern.

  4. It's all they have now, well and truly living in the past while cheering on their local rivals to win the league.

  5. That's it for the season, folks! Thanks to everyone for taking part once again, it's a bumper table this season with so many people taking part in at least one round - a total of 27 entrants! It's also worth noting that we only had time for five rounds this season and didn't need to dabble in Portugal or the Netherlands like we have in the past, reflecting the much higher standard of picking and the longer runs our round winners were able to put together. As for the title battle itself, it was neck and neck between @Bluewolf and @Michael but it's the Chelsea fan's consistency that wins out. @Michael narrowly beat @Bluewolf in the English, German and Spanish rounds and they cancelled each other out in the decider in France, but his non-score in Italy (Atalanta 1-4 Roma in Gameweek One) in a round that his title rival won ultimately sees him miss out by one point! Honourable mentions as well to @Storts who completes the top three and @Rucksackfranzose who bagged the biggest points haul of the season of 12 in La Liga.

  6. trans issue is classic dead catting. Create a massive culture war over something that effects less than 0.5% of the population so that the voters forget the supply chain issues, the falling GDP and GBP, the fact that over 1 in 3 English children are being born into objective poverty.

  7. I've just flicked from the UK Politics thread to this one using the next unread topic button. I think that's the biggest dose of complete right-wing shite I've been exposed to for a long time and that's coming from someone who frequently sees Daily Mail front pages shared on his Twitter feed. The trans debate is such an unbelievably fringe issue that 99% outside of people screaming (on both sides) on social media don't even know what it is, much less decide which they're going to vote based on it.

  8. While I also have reservations about Ten Hag being a success in the short or long term, there's definitely enough in parts of their existing squad to get more quality out of if they can surround them with the right players.

  10. I know I'm well late with this but just started season 1 of Breaking Bad. Just currently at the stage where Walter is starting to enjoy breaking the law. Gotta say I'd been told it was a slow starter but now I'm gripped.

  15. Apparently the Met have seen this as well and decided this wasn't worthy of a fine. Absolutely disgraceful if that's true. Look at the collection of booze on that table at a time when only two people were allowed to meet indoors. It's saying a lot that the Tories reckon their best play throughout this whole scandal (about 6 or 7 months now isn't it?) is to stick by this clearly politically untenable buffoon. The next election really should be an open goal for Labour and the other opposing parties. They better not fuck it up.

  16. I'm so sick of this cunt and his party that won't get rid of him. What the fuck are they clinging on for anyway? This government literally hasn't done anything since they won their majority aside from scandals and u-turns. Being in power is enough for them and they've realised that their best option at this point is hope people have forgotten how shite they are before the next election and the incessant smear campaign their mates in the media deploy against Labour is enough to allow them to cling on for another term. Not a single member of that party has a genuine vision for the country anymore.

  18. If you look at the EPL from the 1992-93 season it's the same, the likes of Blackburn Rovers & Leicester were new winners as it had (and still is) dominated by Man United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Man City, correct me if I am wrong. Maybe Spurs might suddenly pop up as winners next year knowing Conte, I wonder what the odds are on that happening, I wouldn't mind putting a few quid on that as a bet.

  19. I agree with that. I'm just saying the dominance of the money clubs goes back longer than 10 years in most leagues. Now you have Man City winning 4 of the last 5 in the EPL. That's no competition either. I wish all those big clubs had gone on to do their Super League thing. Then the rest of us could get on with cheering on real competitions.

  20. Congrats @Bluewolf being the winner and once again @RandoEFC for running this brilliant game and I will look forward to the next one like a lot of others I presume.

  22. He just gives us a totally different dimension, and for some teams a fear to play against him. He runs the channels well and is tireless despite his age. And confidence to the rest of the side knowing that if he's playing they can provide a chance and there's a good chance he'll finish it. 15 goals in 25 games. Pretty damn good for a 35 year old.

  25. the democrats are so infused on identity politics and pigeon holing people that they will find out the hard way that 90% of America is not interested in progressive agenda, speech marks, unrestricted abortion, cultivating the past as a political weapon for radicalization or hocus pocus gender fluidity. most Americans want security and preservation of the freedoms and liberties they faught for centuries ago, economic prosperity, sustainability and progression of American values. there was once a joke that you know someone is a pilot because they will tell you applies to LGBTQ Today, the new presser made sure to tell people that she was black, lesbian and immigrant like that is an achievement over competency which she exhibited none in her not understanding a very basic question just to tow the democrat agenda that america is systemically racist, everyone that doesn't agree with us is bad blah blah fish paste. it is time for moderates, cons and independents to kick progressives out and get back to normality, the days of bill Clinton and Bush Jr seem like a bygone time.

  27. Dictators saying stupid stuff like this has never gone well for them in the end. " If they can't buy bread eat cake ". Our corrupt PM said beggars can't be choosers about toeing the line of US. This has made him more hated than his corruption. People can be poor and weak but that doesn't mean they are stupid and tolerate insult.

  29. So there's a very intriguing mystery with the Voyager 1 happening now. Basically, the probe is still operating normally (receiving and executing commands from Earth, gathering and returning science data), but the telemetry/location data it's sending to Earth appears to be completely random and don't reflect the probe's actual position https://www.jpl.nasa.gov/news/engineers-investigating-nasas-voyager-1-telemetry-data

  31. Those are all brilliant... I'm a hobby photographer and have a huge interest in astronomy, but I only managed to take a half decent photo of the Milky Way once and a few of the star trails; nothing special at any case. Would absolutely love to try proper astrophotography with proper equipment... big respect to those who took all of these... My favourites at this moment (not in order): That NGC 3521 Galaxy image is something out of this world

  33. The problem as I see it, is we could have both leaders of Tories and Labour locked up for socialising during lock downs. Ok Boris looks worse yet the data came later on Labour as the Tories were defending themselves. This is such a non-issue when we consider Tony Blair lied about weapons of mass destruction and we attacked Iraq. People do not care about this, it is more about economics, jobs and inflation caused largely by Bidenenko's desire to push Russia towards conflict. They just underestimated how seriously they would take it. They gambled sanctions would cripple Russia yet again that has not worked so far. Currently smuggling in weapons for the Ukrainians to use so no end in sight so no fuel through the pipelines and no wheat or pesticide from two of the worlds biggest providers. The fuel price increase inacrease the cost of all manufactured goods and processed food and transported food.

  34. Thiago Alcântara faces a battle to prove his fitness for Liverpool’s Champions League final with Real Madrid after undergoing a scan on an Achilles problem. The Spain midfielder, 31, sustained the injury during the first half of Liverpool’s 3-1 Premier League win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday. The problem is not serious but he will need to respond to treatment quickly this week, given the tight turnaround to Saturday’s showpiece in Paris.
