This little girl has been hanging out on my patio for some time now. She won't let us pet her but she'll take food from our hand. She's so skinny so I'm trying to fatten her up.

Yeah, I'm a sucker for homeless cats. I've been trying to get her to come in but no luck so far.

Lovely cat! But I know you mean good, but I'm always wary feeding strange cats. She could have illnesses like diabetes or some intolerances that don't allow her to eat certain stuff. I always gave my neighbours cats some treats, until the owner told me that he's on a diet on doctors orders.

There shouldn't even be a small. It's large or "I believe you're looking for Starbucks".

It's totally normal in pretty much all places I've been... Depending on the restaurant/bar/pub, they either ask you which sort you want, or just bring you whatever is on tap.

Ah ok. Normal here. Then they usually ask "Alt oder Pils?" and I just give them a bewildered look and order an Alt. We're in Düsseldorf god damnit!

I believe he means ordering a beer without further instructions.

Haircut. Not impressed.

I wasn't sure if she belonged to someone else until she showed up with a clipped ear. That's a sign that she's a stray that was caught, spayed, and re-released. Pretty sure she's living under a shed a few houses over.

I can tell you that so far I have been quite successful with ordering Pils.

It's with a heavy heart that after only four years of having her, the gammy eyed fluffy fool known as Lola was put to sleep last week. She wasn't even 8 years old. She was not looking right at the beginning of April as her breathing did not look right at all. Took her to the vets and after checking her over, they said she had loose teeth and booked an op for her. A couple of weeks later, we took her to the vet again (different location) as she was still not looking right (despite painkillers). Was told the same thing that it was toothache. Last Thursday, we felt her stomach and it was pretty hard (as well as her breathing still not being right). Went to the vets and requested a full scan, but was told to expect the worst. The worst happened. We were told she had intestinal cancer that spread throughout her entire body. Our options were to either keep her drugged up at the vets and delay the inevitable, or put her to sleep. I don't think the chosen option needs further explanation. We went to the vets the following morning to say our goodbyes and that was that. It was the first time I ever saw any of my dogs put to sleep and I'd rather not do that again. My other dog has lost a companion for the second time now and is currently lost without her.
