  1. Tbh I’m not even sure it was right to ban Russia from international tournaments for invading Ukraine. I obviously think their invasion was wrong - it’s clearly a crime against humanity. But it’s a bit fucking weird when countries have invaded other countries in our living memory… and they don’t get the same kind of treatment. I’m sure any Iraqis who saw Russia get banned for an illegal invasion probably thought “what the fuck?” At best, it comes off as just hugely hypocritical. At worst, it’s Europe & FIFA signaling to countries with brown people that their lives just aren’t worth as much as white peoples. And it’s a disgrace that the sale of weapons to Russia is what manages get the world pissed off about the Iranian government. Not like they hadn’t been slaughtering kids in the street for a month before this talk of kicking them out of the World Cup… and like you say, all the involvement in government & sport & women inclusion have been issues since this government came into power.

  2. Just read about how FIFA could chuck Iran out of the World Cup due to governmental influence and issues around inclusivity with women. Firstly, the thought of chucking a country out on human rights laws when you're hosting the tournament in Qatar is ridiculous. Secondly, despite them having these inclusive issues with women and football for 40+ years this has stemmed from Iran allegedly selling drones to Russia. So if Iran get banned I'd expect Harry Kane can put his rainbow captain armband in the bin behind because England shouldnt be allowed to go because of the UK deals with selling firearms to Saudi Arabia. Whilst the governmental influence is a fair point which caused India to be suspended, we're less than a month from the tournament starting and those players for Iran have qualified on merit and have no influence what happens at a governmental level. Even if you were to replace them with the next deserving team from Asia it would be UAE. Are we going to dig up there human rights records? The whole moral stance may project an initial healthy image to the world but for Fifa it would be like putting on an armoured vest that's had the armour taken out.

  9. Just read it up. Doesn't sound like rocket science. Basically you need to be healthy, athletic and know how to read a map. Oh and blindly follow orders without questioning them of course.

  11. Because you're very stubborn, that's why. Even when presented with facts, you choose to refute it to suit your own opinion. I'll happily be proved wrong, but I'd love for you to find other recent examples of what you claim to be true. But I think you'll struggle. Basically, you claimed something. It proved to be false. You've double-downed on it and now look like a bigger fool than before.

  12. Gone through previous PL seasons. The following teams won 3-2 after being 2-0 down in the game. Also noted their results after the comeback victory... Man City 3-2 Aston Villa (22 May 2022) - End of season, no further games Everton 3-2 Crystal Palace (19 May 2022) Next game - lost 5-1 away at Arsenal. - Worth noting this was right at the end of the season so not much 'form' to follow... Brighton 3-2 Man City (18 May 2021) Next game - lost 2-0 away at Arsenal - also at end of the season, so 'form' limited.. Southampton 3-2 Burnley (4 April 2021) - in their next 9 games (until the end of the season), they only won 2. The immediate games after this win, they lost 3 and drew 1. - Form after the win - LLDL, or LLLDL including FA Cup. Watford 2-3 Everton (1 Feb 2020) - Form after the win - WLDLD Southampton 2-3 Wolves (18 Jan 2020) - Form after the win - LDDWW Wolves 3-2 Man City (27 Dec 2019) - Form after the win - LLDWL, or LLDDL including FA Cup. Newcastle 3-2 Everton (9 March 2019) - Form after the win - DLLWW Man Utd 3-2 Newcastle (6 Oct 2018) - Form after the win - DWWLD, or DLWWWL including Champions League Man City 2-3 Man Utd (7 April 2018) - Form after the win - LWWLD, or LWWWL including FA Cup Crystal Palace 2-3 Man Utd (5 March 2018) - Form after the win - WWWLW, or WWLWW including Champions League So, they're all the occasions in the last 5 seasons that a team has come back from 2-0 down, to then win 3-2. @Chickasaw you said it 'happens often' that form improves after a team makes that kind of comeback. So 8 occasions in the last 5 seasons (not counting the latest 3 occasions as it was end of the season). 6 of those 8 occasions saw the team lose their next game. 4 of those 8 occasions saw the team winless for the next 3 games. Are you man enough to admit you're wrong too ?

  16. I had a look to see what happened to your form when you won 3-2 at our place last season (the 2 late Bergwijn goals). You lost your next 3 league games. Have you never noticed that a period of good form normally follows after a team comes back to win 3-2 after being 2-0 down So your team with lots of pedigree, history and tradition (as if no other side has this either), didn't have a period of good form after winning 3-2 late on... Let's take another side that arguably has pedigree, history, tradition - West Ham. They beat you 3-2 after being 2-0 down in October 2017. They didn't win for another 6 games after that. Yes, I am that bored to look at results that far back .

  20. Vindication on what? Richarlison didn't even play last night. Let's be honest here, you didn't even give him a chance from the start, and he's not even done anything that badly this season so the moment he was ever going to do one or two things wrong, you'd be straight on it. I guess being injured didn't help his cause. But you wrote him off before he even kicked a ball. Only been a few months and you think you've proved yourself right.

  24. The irony that you have to pay money for being you really does sum up a slew of things that will start user migration from the platform to other places. The real question now is where can they go? The answer really is nowhere. Nothing has the kind of reach Twitter does and I feel like this is all just a by-product of reactive thinking from Musk. He needs to recoup his costly investment and the only way to do that is to either shoves ads down the user-bases throats or to charge them for services. He's going for the latter and it's not going to end with the platform's users being very happy about it. I'd rather they crated fiscal bucket plans for advertisers to help boost revenue there and at the same time charge for metrics on the platform vs stupid things like verification, etc. A lot of marketing firms use Twitter as a litmus test for how their users are behaving or getting a general feel on how the community reacts to news. Make that a paid subscription because even if they say no they'll slowly come crawling back when they have to get the data. I'd also go so far as to completely eradicate public search functionality and force search engines to pay for the access to data either via user protection or by allowing monthly allowances on data and annual subscription costs.
