  1. That penalty is harsh. Yea it's not in line with the body but the guy is falling and can't really help it. The protester is a legend btw. Iran-ukraine-lgbt hat-trick.

  3. It’s fucking embarrassing he celebrated like he scored it, because he thought he could get away with it. Now he has to explain to Fernandes why he stole the glory.

  5. Excellent finale to sink our teeth into. I think after wrapping all of it up its easily the best Star Wars series and it probably isnt that close. The writing is superb as you guys have mentioned.

  8. Their new songs do nothing for me, think they are significantly worse than their best stuff. But the videos are nothing short of incredible. Maybe they should consider a career change and move into movie-making full time

  9. That makes two of us! But his Wikipedia entry is pretty interesting Apparently, he's the son of one the US famous zoologists and educational children's TV shows hosts, had trials at Bayern, trained with La Masia academy and then played for Barcelona's US academy, before joining some university and then going to Germany to play for SSV Ulm's U19 last season. He is joining our reserves, we'll have to see if he makes it to the first team in the future...

  11. Round 2 done and dusted in a flash. Some very surprising results to predict for... @CaaC (John) remains top of the leaderboard and has a lead of 6 points. @Happy Blue / @LFCMike / @Toinho were some of the biggest movers and are now his closest challengers - all 4 players scored over 20 points. @Beelzebub also moved several places, up from 24th to 9th with a score of 21 points. @DeadLinesman and @Pyfish both next best with scores of 18. Only 6 points separate @Happy Blue in 2nd and @DeadLinesman in 13th. Then a further 6 points from @Bluewolf in 14th down to @Honey Honey in 25th. Don't forget to pick for Round 3 if you haven't done so already! Deadline is 3pm (GMT) tomorrow! PREDICT FOR ROUND 3 HERE

  12. Apparently, FIFA changed it and gave the goal to Bruno Fernandes. Arrascaeta for Godín makes Uruguay a lot more offensive. But they don't really have a choice. It's insane that Rafael Leão is still on the bench. This match is perfect for him.

  15. I think pouring beer is a waste of water (because eventually someone has to clean the glass) when it already comes in a bottle or a can. Unless I'm at a bar or a pub and then I'm expecting a glass because I have to pay extra so might as well make the bar tender actually do something than just hand me a bottle/can.

  16. I think most decent club sides would thrash most international sides tbh. But international football is completely different to club football - it's not like these managers get to work with these players day-in-day out.

  17. IMO Pedro is the best striker on the squad. But since he doesn't play in Europe he'll warm the bench.

  18. Agreed. No Neymar almost gives a bit of a psychological advantage to the opposition, that's how good he is. Raphinha seemed to do 1 good thing and 2 bad things against Serbia. Today it's not even been 1 good thing.

  19. It’s not about the impact of the ball on the skull. It’s about the whiplash. A helmet will only make a person head the ball harder causing more whiplash when they do.

  20. Petr Cech had a depressed skull fracture. The head gear protected his skull. This has nothing to do with heading a ball. Your brain will ricochet within your skull whether you wear a helmet or not.

  27. Germany vs. Spain watched by 17 Mio people in Germany. Best score of the tournament, but still a lot less than in previous tournaments. And the women's Euro final still holds the best score of the year with 17,9 Mio people.

  30. Exactly right. The last 6 years or so for Germany has taught me so much about football, and given me a new appreciation for Messi and his peak time at Barcelona. No one else in that squad can combat for headers like Fullkrug, nor will they make the same number 9 runs, or hold up the ball like he can. He must start for Germany to look anything like their best.

  32. Very early goal for Canada in Game 61, in the 2nd minute allowed @Bluebird Hewitt to gain 2 points for his 3rd-minute choice. No picks were close enough in Game 62 between Spain & Germany! Table after Game 62: @Bluebird Hewitt adds to his tally to go to 7 points, but remains in 16th place, our first winner in 7 games!

  34. Yes the first would should stop intervening negatively in these countries and playing their part in the systems of corruption that plague parts of the world. But then I think you’d see the price of basically everything go up… and honestly these first world countries often don’t have the answers to tackling poverty themselves. But like @nudge said, looking “big picture” at the causes of the problem itself… it doesn’t really address the issue as it is currently. And that issue is Qatar is a fantastically wealthy country, that literally relies on these migrants to function on a day to day basis (seriously, go look up how much of the population of Qatar is actually Qatari…). Despite this fantastic wealth, they’ve made the choice to be cruelly exploitative to the migrants they depend on. I think it’s made all the more fucked up given that Qatar aren’t exactly short of the resources to make life… not shit…

  38. Are you for real?... Because poor desperate people do desperate things to earn a living and support their families, especially when they get promised a decent salary in Gulf countries while facing unemployment, debt and low wages at home. When you don't have many options, you take what's available to you, even knowing the risks.

  39. It's crazy that you guys got triggered by me saying it must be because Germany aren't good right now. I have morals. I'm just not as naive as to think I'm gonna change the world by not watching football. It's moronic to be honest. You can say nonsense like "they won't like low TV ratings" but is the issue the human rights or the tournament being there? Low TV ratings in Germany or anyone in Europe isn't going to convince them to change their laws. Also, reality is that the tournament being there has created the discussion. Majority of people boycotting wouldn't care about human rights in Qatar if the tournament wasn't there. And the tournament being there already led to some reforms regarding the rights of migrant workers. Boycotting doesn't make sense. It might make you feel like you're doing something, and that's the only reason you're probably doing it, but you're not affecting anything regarding human rights in Qatar. It's not about a lack of morals, it's about not being delusional. Not watching the World Cup probably has less of an effect than a hashtag on twitter. But no, you must be a hero.

  42. Blame King Gustavus Adolphus of Sweeden for that. The ship was built on the orders of the King of Sweden Gustavus Adolphus as part of the military expansion he initiated in a war with Poland-Lithuania (1621–1629). She was constructed at the navy yard in Stockholm under a contract with private entrepreneurs in 1626–1627 and armed primarily with bronze cannons cast in Stockholm specifically for the ship. Richly decorated as a symbol of the king's ambitions for Sweden and himself, upon completion she was one of the most powerfully armed vessels in the world. However, Vasa was dangerously unstable, with too much weight in the upper structure of the hull. Despite this lack of stability, she was ordered to sea and foundered only a few minutes after encountering a wind stronger than a breeze. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vasa_(ship)
