  2. Well, the wee fella Avocado is with our daughter now around her flat and has been introduced to his big brother and sister (Pudidn & Banana), a couple of growls and hisses and Avocado putting his back up but all quiet on the western front now.

  3. Former Augsburg player I presume. His evil twin Max Philipp just moved to Bremen. When on the pitch together they completely negate each other. In the event that they collide in a foul, a black hole spawns.

  5. I like that, quality footballers wanting to play for us again for more than just money. ETH has changed the outlook of the club in a matter of months, you can have the money of the oil clubs but the reality is a top player would always choose a successful and decent Manchester United over the likes of the cash rich oil clubs like Newcastle.

  6. Love that. It's on my places to visit this year.

  7. I know it's a joke, but I would assume most of Hoffenheim's players live in Heidelberg, which is one of the most beautiful cities in Germany.

  8. The Killing Fields is a pretty good movie, I think watching it as a kid was the first time I learned about the events there. There's also a new-ish film available on Netflix and based on a well-known memoir of a survivor, called First They Killed My Father. I would actually recommend it over The Killing Fields, as that one is told mostly from the perspective of a Western journalist, whereas First They Killed My Father is authentically Cambodian and uses Cambodian actors, music, and language.

  9. Not sure if this feels inappropriate or not but I was taken away on a surprise weekend away to Krakow. Really great time. Would recommend. I've got to say though, Auschwitz...wow. That will stick with me for life now. Never seen anything like that before, and whilst it was incredibly harrowing, I felt completely vindicated in going. On a side note, I would actually say that it would be amazing if all middle schools could arrange to take their students over and see something like this. Too many kids are entirely influenced by Social Media, at an age (13-16) where they are thinking their little gangsta's, and show little respect for those around them and have no concept as to what these people went through. You can read all the books in the world and see videos but when you go there in the flesh, it's a different kettle of fish. Sorry, completely digressed. Here's a few I took from Auschwitz anyway. If anyone's ever thought of going and had doubts, I'd just go. In a weird way, you'll be glad you did.

  10. Our turnover/wages ratio is absolutely terrible which I think is a major issue with FFP. Our wage structure is absolutely ridiculous (non-existent). Players like Keane, Doucoure, Mina, Allan, Tosun being given 4 year contracts on anything from 60k to 100k a week, turning out to be nowhere near worth it and then sitting on their contracts on the bench for years while they take millions out of the club every year. Just another aspect of the amateur running of the whole thing. It all adds up.

  12. After knowing I had Covid, the first morning I woke up and realised "Oh shit, right, I got Covid", I smelt my hands to test if I can still smell anything.

  14. Nice one, I've just added that to my Netflix list so I'll give both a go. The trailer reeled me in so that's right up my street.Didn't realise it was done by Angelina Jolie either so very interested to see what she's produced.

  18. If you want a similar harrowing experience and you find yourself in Southeast Asia one day, make sure not to skip the former S-21 prison and the Killing Fields in Cambodia. It's crazy how little of it is known and taught in Europe.

  19. I'm not too critical of Ducksch, personally. Even if he won't ever be a goal-machine in the 1. Bundesliga and even if there are some other things to be unhappy with, he still managed to get 3 goals and 7 assists so far, not so bad for someone in a promoted team! He still has something to offer to the team, in my opinion.

  20. I was so sure that nothing would happen in the remaining transfer window, I haven't even bothered to read the news There were rumours about Maximilian Philipp, but I just couldn't believe it. Another clever transfer given our resources; I wonder if there's an option to buy at the end of the season. Philipp should at least provide competition for Ducksch, at the very least! A bit disappointed that Burke didn't work out for us; he did score some very important goals at the start of the season, but was unable to build on that, unfortunately.

  28. Sore throat yesterday. Totally zoned out today, for most of it. Lack of energy, lethargy, shivering and constant headache. Maybe that's the fever for a day. Don't want to lose my taste or smell

  30. Terrible news since he is one of our best players this season, midfield doesn't function the same without him. Apparently we are close to get Marcel Sabitzer, I guess he will be competing with Fred for that Eriksen position.
