  1. It seems that Valverde is against signing Bellerin and the favourite to be brought in is now Nelson Semedo. I haven't seen enough of Semedo to judge but from what I've heard of him he definitely won't be a bad buy and I'd be pleased with that, depending on the price at least. Hopefully we get Benfica to lower their asking price a bit.
  2. Zinedine Zidane is not one of the best managers in the world.......yet.
  3. Whoever does the transfers at Bayern is an absolute mastermind. If it's one thing I admire a lot about Bayern Munich it's their ability to pull off deals like that James Rodriguez one. German efficiency for you.
  4. I'm happy to hear that there's at least a chance of change and hopefully soon too, before Bartomeu and co. drive the club to ruins...
  5. Yup, I read that Benedito gathered enough signatures for a vote of no confidence against the current board

This is an amazing episode from Anthony Bourdain's show, focusing on Trinidad & Tobago, and I thought that it'd be a fantastic watch for anyone of you who wanted to know a bit more about T&T's culture, traditions and food. Anyone who has approximately 45 minutes to spare should give it a watch. Trinidad is a really diverse and interesting place and there's a lot more to it than what people from the outside give us credit for, and I thought Bourdain did a fantastic job highlighting a lot of it, so...yeah, I recommend watching this to anyone interested in learning more about my country!
  7. @SirBalon Any chance that the vote of no confidence works? Irrespective of who we bring in, that would represent a great summer for FC Barcelona if it were to happen.
  8. Seems like Arsenal are going to be getting Lacazette and Mahrez. Will be tremendous signings for them and would strengthen them a lot already...now imagine if they manage to keep hold of both Alexis and Ozil in addition to those two signings...Arsenal would certainly be a force going forward.
  9. I'm not really sure how to feel about Gerard Deulofeu being back quite yet, especially since he's displayed some traits that won't make him a success at Barcelona, such as excessive ball hogging, for example. He'll need to learn to cut stuff like that out in order to be good for us, but here's to hoping he does and he takes his chance to finally be a proper part of FC Barcelona's senior team, for the sake of the club. What I would say is that for the price, which is beyond peanuts in today's market, it was a good buy in that respect. I wouldn't rule out Barcelona buying another CB either, but how serious do you think the Leo Bonucci rumours are? I mean, he's in the discussion for the best CB in the world, but...why the intrigue from Barca? It doesn't add up for me, especially since he's 30 years old and he'd cost a hell of a lot to prize away. Here's to hoping the RB signing, be it Bellerin or someone else, is confirmed either this week or next week.
  10. Mateu Morey will not be joining Bayern Munich, according to your own board.
  11. ‪Congratulations to Barcelona B for earning promotion back up to the Second Division, and also to our U-12 team for winning the La Liga Promises tournament with a 3-2 victory over Real Madrid! ‬
  12. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2717227 A really beautiful piece on the eve of Lionel Messi's 30th birthday
  13. If we do sign Lucas Lima it'll be interesting to see how he does. If he works out and he's as good as they say he is in Brazil ( including Ronaldinho ), he could be a huge boost to us as we push on in the business end of the season, meanwhile if, worst case scenario he doesn't, it's a free agent signing, so we won't be losing anything. I'd take a bet on him. Could be amazing reinforcement to have ( which we lacked severely last season ).
  14. I'm not pissed that we lost Mboula specifically, but we really need to stop losing these young guys at such an alarming rate...we're letting too much slip through the cracks. This is one of the things I hope Valverde can eventually stunt, as I'm aware he does look at youth and place an emphasis on them, much like Pep Guardiola.
  15. Gerard Pique is the best centre back in the world on his day, he's certainly a MUCH better defender than Sergio Ramos, who for whatever reason many people seem to rate.
  16. I don't mind you talk your shit where the shit belongs, but why does he come into the FC Barcelona thread to make posts like that? I absolutely abhore Real Madrid but I haven't even been to the Madrid thread even once. And nowhere else on the forum have I made any Teso-esque comment about Real Madrid or Cristiano Ronaldo. It's like his entire purpose is to oppose Barcelona, Messi and just spout bullshit. He isn't interested in discussing football, he's just anti Barça and anti Messi. I'm with SirBalon and @LaSambadeStGermain. It's really annoying, what this character does.
  17. Yup. Barcelona is a very difficult club for players to come to and adapt, and most times a lot of players initially struggle. So now that the likes of Paco Alcacer, Andre Gomes and even Denis Suarez have been there a year, I expect them to be much better this coming season. So as far as depth goes, I think we'll reap the rewards of the fruit that were planted last summer. And as you said, I'm looking forward to seeing more of Roberto in midfield. He'll be a quality back up option in his actual, natural position! Get a world class midfielder ( ideally Verratti ) and an actual Right Back ( my first choice is Bellerin but I won't mind Nelson Semedo as a second choice either ) and we're looking in good shape for the coming season.
  18. I think that a player's price is determined by how much they are worth to your club, not how much they are worth on the market. So if Verratti is priced on what he's worth to FC Barcelona, then to be honest he is worth it, even for that exorbitant fee. Marco Verratti would be a huge, huge signing for us, as he's the closest thing in terms of his play style that there currently is to Xavi. I really, really hope we do get him.
  19. According to them he isn't really an upgrade on Aleix Vidal ( defensively ) and might even be a downgrade when talking about going forward in the attacking third. That seems to be the general consensus on him over there
  20. The ones from a blog called "Barça Blaugranes"
  21. I'd love us to get Bellerin, I don't see anything wrong with him and I don't understand the negativity a lot of Barça fans view him with. I think he'll do really well at the Camp Nou, and he's my personal first choice to fill that Right Back gap.
  22. @SirBalon As an Arsenal supporter, would you prefer Barcelona got Hector Bellerin or Semedo? It seems a lot of Barça fans are against Bellerin's signing
  23. Went to see the Wonder Woman movie in Imax this weekend....it was really, really good. Gal Gadot was amazing in the Wonder Woman role. It's definitely the best DC movie since The Dark Knight.
  24. I'm looking forward for next season to start, to be honest. It's also going to be great seeing Girona in La Liga as well, another Catalan team and the first time they're going to be in the top flight in their history!
  25. This is excellent. It's been quite some time since we had a world class midfield that was the focal point of our team. Looking forward to this hopefully coming to fruition.
