  1. Today is a special match against a special team in honour of those 71 people who tragically lost their lives last year. Fuerza Chapecoense, we're with you all!
  2. Barcelona 3-2 Real Madrid La Blaugrana claim victory in what was an electric and entertaining El Clasico in Miami. Leo Messi and Ivan Rakitic quickly fired Barca 2-0 up in the first 6 minutes in what was a sizzling start to the match by the Catalans, but Kovacic and Asensio would peg it back to 2-2 before half time. Gerard Pique got the winner in the 50th minute to ensure that Ernesto Valverde's men took the victory.
  3. El Clasico is upon us once more, as tomorrow the two eternal rivals square off in Miami VISCA EL BARÇA!!!
  4. The mosaic that will be on display at the Clasico in Miami on Saturday.
  5. It was more positive signs in the 1-0 win over Manchester United, with the team dominating midfield again and showing versatility with being able to attack with possession, counters, slow build up plays and also fast transitions. We're not sure if MSN will be together anymore, but they were also electrifying and carved United to shreds in the first half. They were reminiscent of their 2015 form, an absolute joy to watch. In the second half we got another chance to see the likes of Arda, Vermaelen etc. and I thought Vermaelen was okay, didn't have too much to do but when he did he did them. Arda, on the hand....come on, there's no way he should still be a Barcelona player come September It's terrifying how shocking he is. Carles Alena was absolutely wonderful, I hope he gets a lot of chances this season...and Roberto at CM again, just like against Juventus, was a joy to watch.
  6. I'd gladly let Neymar go if it means getting other high quality players like that who would improve the team as a whole. Last friendly game of the US tour today against Manchester United ( the Clasico isn't a 'friendly' )...we'll be playing against a team who've played a lot of games already and are further into their preseason than us, so it'll be interesting to see how we get on against a team as sharp as they're supposed to be
  7. I'm reaching the point now where I'd prefer if he left, because after all of this and the way it was handled by him, if he stays I'm not sure I can ever forget this or look at him the same again. If he stays I won't say anything and I'd support him because he plays for my club, but in the back of my mind I'll always have this saga lingering there. Things won't be the same anymore As Johan Cruyff said, if you have doubts about playing for us, then you should not play for us. Neymar should just go...
  8. Yeah as long as his replacement is Paulo Dybala then to me it doesn't really matter. Dybala will be brilliant in a Barcelona shirt and alongside Messi
  9. That's great...whether he stays or goes I just want this saga to finally end, so hopefully it does after that meeting Did Neymar's performance last night made you desperate to keep hold of him or do you still not really care if he leaves?
  10. I heard about it....they said Neymar reassured his teammates that he would stay but when Neymar Sr met with the directors, it didn't go well and they expect Neymar to leave I don't really blame Neymar for this, his father is the one who deserves the blame. Is it €10 Neymar earns at Barcelona?
  11. It was a positive and encouraging start last night in the 2-1 win over Juventus. The pressing was great, for the first time in forever we actually dominated the midfield. I love how Valverde utitilised the players as well, with Denis and Arda not being used as CM's. Semedo made his debut and played it safe and shy, I hope soon we start seeing the flair that he usually plays with and not that more reserved version of him, but he was good. Samper, Alena and Marlon all put in promising and great performances, and I loved Sergi Roberto in midfield! Also, special mention to the wonderful, sublime performance Neymar put in, both goals, but especially the second one where he beat five Juve players before putting it past Buffon, were simply incredible. It was a great day at the office, started just the way we mean to go on. Positive signs early on, now we need to keep improving and keep heading in the right direction.
  12. Neymar leaving is far from the disaster some people think it would be, I only see us improving as a team and coming out better with that amount of money as long as it's wisely used
  13. I was thinking there's a chance both Clasicos could be really close together....Madrid are playing at the Club World Cup, so I think the first one will be postponed, and since we both play in the Champions League, they would have to reschedule it to closer towards the end of the season, like Madrid's match against Celta last season What if it's a straight shootout for the title over two legs, basically
  14. The boys are in the US for the preseason tour. It's just preseason but personally can't wait to see the lads back in action again, and can't wait to see how Valverde starts translating his ideas onto the pitch. FC BARCELONA PRESEASON FIXTURES 2017-18 Barcelona VS Juventus-Saturday July 22nd, 6:05pm GMT-4, 11:05pm GMT+1 Barcelona VS Manchester United-Wednesday 26th July, 7:30pm GMT-4, 12:30am on the 27th GMT+1 El Clasico-Barcelona VS Real Madrid-Saturday 29th July, 8:05pm GMT-4, 1:05am on the 30th GMT+1 Joan Gamper Trophy-Chapecoense VS Barcelona-Monday 7th August, 6am GMT-4, 11am GMT+1
  15. I won't say 1) is unpopular. There are a lot of people actually in favour of totally scrapping the away goals rule. Personally I agree with you, it should stand but shouldn't come into effect anymore during extra time. It's unfair to lose on away goals if, say, you only had 90 minutes at their ground but they got 120 at yours.
  16. What do you all make of reports that Neymar has agreed to join PSG? For me I struggle to think of why it makes sense. Leaving Barcelona to go to PSG will not increase his chances of winning the Ballon D'Or, as I assume this is partially about that. And if he values team success then why take that backward step from Barcelona to PSG? I just can't see why he would want to make this move.
  17. I was thinking if it were possible to loan out Yerry Mina for a year if we do buy him. We already have Pique and Umtiti as starters, and with Mascherano set to stay that's him and Marlon as backup ( assuming Vermaelen leaves, if not then that's five ). So if we buy Mina then I'm thinking we can loan him out for a year and then when Mascherano leaves next summer, he can take over that 3rd choice spot. I don't want him to stay in South America on loan though, it should be in Europe so as to acclimatize him so he'd gain European experience before actually playing for Barcelona.
  18. Rumour has it that Juventus would be open to letting Leonardo Bonucci go to AC Milan and the deal could be completed tomorrow. That's come out of the blue and is very surprising...that would be a huge coup for Milan if it comes to fruition
  19. The latest I'm hearing is that finally, FC Barcelona have signed a Right Back. An agreement for Nelson Semedo was reached with Benfica and the signing will officially be announced at midnight, so that's in about four more hours. Sport claim the fee is between 30 to 35 million, but like Machado said, when the official announcement comes I'm expecting there to be some weird clause(es) included EDIT: There we go, official confirmation.
  20. We've agreed personal terms with Nelson Semedo and Robert Fernandez is currently in Portugal trying to negotiate a deal with Benfica, as they want 50 million but we don't want to pay more than 40.

    Cricket

I saw West Indies surprisingly beat India in the T20 match on Sunday But in the ODI series India demolished us. India are a seriously great cricketing country, sometimes it feels like they have too much talent for their own good haha, kind of like Spain and Germany in football

My grandparents are pure Indian ( I'm mixed with Indian, Spanish and Chinese, which may seem like a lot of things but in Trinidad being mixed with just three things isn't much at all ) and when I went to school right next to where they lived, every lunch time I'd go across by them and I'd get roti...but since I graduated and I'm not there that often anymore I'm starved of my regular roti too Indian food is really amazing

That and of course roti are two of my favourite things to eat, really I also love the Indian sweets like barfi and kurma...when my friends who are Hindu have prayers or anything like that I always ask them to bring me some. A popular breakfast over here is what we call "sada" roti, which goes with virtually anything and tastes really great. I'm not sure if you'd know about it, because I think this is our own creation too ( though I'm not sure ), but this is it:

This is a Trinidadian delicacy called "Doubles"...I'm aware they sell Doubles in Canada and probably the US as well, but I'm not sure if the Europeans on here would've ever heard of it...when people come to Trinidad one of the first things they want to do is taste a Doubles from the place where it was born! It's fried bara ( flat fried bread ) with curry, channa and additional things like cucumber and mango in it as well. How do you guys think it looks? It definitely tastes great, if any of you guys ever decide to come here for a holiday you need to taste it
  25. True, he would be ideal. The price Spurs supposedly want for him is also around the same we'd have to pay for Bellerin and Semedo too, so I don't get why he isn't on our radar. It could be that we want someone younger who'd be here for longer, and both Bellerin and Semedo have the potential to be better than Walker is now when they're 27 years old. So it could be investing for both now and the future, that's my guess.
