  1. It's very early in the season but we've signed a gem in Said Benrahma, unfortunately not a lot of highlights on him with us but having watched him against Rotherham and Southend he's going to be make a name for himself this season. His first goal of the season for us at 2:22, longer highlights not available but spent the entire game tormenting Southend's defence.
  2. Suits Like @Eco said above, only just started watching this. Obviously knew about it for years and was tempted to give it a go about 5 years ago but it seemed a bit twatish at the time. Got to say now I'm hooked to it, managed to watch about 7 series in the last few weeks. There was one series where I thought the pace of everything dropped a bit (might be series 4), but other than that it's been class. Luke Cage Didn't know this was being made in line with Daredevil, Iron Fist and Jessica Jones. Gave some spoilers away about Jessica Jones which has pissed me off as I was tempted to give that a go too. But series 1 has been class.
  3. I don't know, that picture does make it look dangerous in that it could break an ankle if he's standing flat footed so if that's the case then fair play it's a red. This isn't much of an issue, but for me the biggest problem I have with the sport is the way fouls are called these days. You get fouls for contact rather than obstruction. Your hand could brush someone's arm when running next to them and they will dive and be awarded for the contact, even though there is no way in a million years that caused a foul. I like the quality of football from abroad and how it's improved the Premier League, and I like the improved quality of tackling that has followed it. But I hate the blatant diving that is awarded simply for contact being made in a contact sport. It just creates a safe space for grown men to hit the floor and roll as if someone killed their children, it's not the same level but I've been elbowed in the face by someone twice my size in Saturday league and funnily enough it didn't stop my legs from working. Footballers nowadays get the tiniest of touches and go down, I don't like seeing players get injured but whenever someone takes diving to an extreme I pray to the gods that created Roy Keane that his spirit will take control of someone's body and they get absolutely slaughtered in the tackle. It was great when Neymar got put out of the world cup in Brazil, karma coming back full swing. Just needs to happen to a lot more players. But back on topic....I agree, red card
  4. One footed, foot was essentially on the floor...at this point it's a contact sport.
  5. Thought that was a yellow at best, hardly reckless or dangerous.
  6. I don't think they'll be that hard to outplay this season. Says more about the Prem that most of their starting eleven were Prem players.
  7. If you're going to bet on us this season then bet on Watkins to score too, got a feeling he's going to rip the division this season.
  8. Everybody knows that Ashley is a shithouse, everybody. Fans don't choose to support a club based on it's ownership, but managers decide to work based on that. Rafa knew that Ashley was a shithouse and knew a lack of consistent investment would happen as it always has done. If he likes a challenge then fair play, that's down to him. If he didn't see it coming, then it's bad decision making. I wouldn't want Ashley within a mile of my club, you are nothing more than an asset to him. But Rafa knew that, I get the worshipping of him because he's fighting for the club, but he took a well paying job knowing fully what the owner is like, he's not a poor soul.
  9. Really not trolling, anyone could have told you something like this would have happened when he took over. Rafa knew, has nothing for people to feel sorry for. He gets paid a decent wedge for it too.
  10. We all know Ashley is a shithouse, so did Rafa. He knew what he was getting himself into, poor decision making if anything.

I love the forum to forum internet beef as if it's the Hilltop vs Alexandria except the main two culprits on here are less Rick and Neagen and both that dope who pretends to be an English King.
  14. @Dan This is probably our best chance of making a push for it, plus we play some of the best football, if not the best football in the division. But then again Cardiff went up last season and they definitely don't play great football I should be getting back from New Zealand midway through/towards the end of the season so if we do go up will get to witness it and witness it at Griffin Park which would be amazing. One of the biggest things I miss about England is going to Griffin Park, a small stadium but one of the best small stadiums around.
  15. To be honest mate I think we're beyond a surprise pick now, I doubt there will be many teams in this division that will clearly be better than us head to head and are chasing promotion and if they are, they'll probably make the automatics.
  16. If Grealish goes for £40m then Spurs have just given us a new benchmark to sell for.
  17. He looked like a child but outclassed the men, did look decent!

Tenner???? £15m minimum for a decent haircut. Though in New Zealand it's about $40 which is a bastard.
  19. Yeah I had a feeling Coke and Rio may have been signed under those circumstances. Be interesting to see how he does, he'll get plenty of games in the B Team and we need more players in it after loaning out and releasing players.
  20. Puig looks like a child, definitely needs some of Messi's growth hormones. There was a moment against AC Milan where someone's arm rubbed Puig's face and he went down to the floor and done about 10 rolls before mustering the strength to get up off the ground, definitely has that Barce DNA.
  21. Cole Dasilva has just signed a 2 year deal with our B Team, any idea what he's like?
  22. New season same old shit...but it's good to have football back and good to have Brentford back. I've not been this excited for a season since we went up...obviously last season looked like it could have been a good one for us at the beginning when we still had Jota in the side, but he left, so did Colin and Dean. We struggled to adapt but once we did we performed comfortably like a play-off team for the rest of the season, just couldn't make up on the lost ground from the beginning. Transfers In: Ezri Konsa - £2.57m Julian Jeanvier - £1.80m Said Benrahma - £2.60m Marcus Forss - Promoted from B Team Transfers Out: John Egan - £4m Florian Jozefzoon - £2.79m-£3m Konstantin Kerschbaumer - £900k Andrea Bjelland - Free Ilias Chatzitheodoridis - Free Maupay/Watkins/Forss Watkins/Benrahma - Sawyers/Marcondes - Canos/Ogbene/Judge McEachran/Yennaris - Mokotjo/Macleod Henry/Barbet - Jeanvier/Konsa - Mepham/Sorensen - Dalsgard/Clarke Bentley/Daniels This team is probably one of the most complete teams we've ever had, considering most of our shelf life has been League 1 and League 2....it's probably a stronger squad than what got us to the play-offs. We lost two centre backs, Bjelland to a free and Egan for a cushty fee...have brought in an England youth international in Konsa and supposedly experienced and "highly rated" defender in Jeanvier. We are expected to have to put up a fight to keep Chris Mepham with Leicester and Bournemouth both interested, but even if we lose him that brings us down to 4 centre backs so I think we're prepared. I've not included Woods into the above because he's definitely expected to leave, but he'd generally be a first team who'd rotate on busy weeks with Nico, Kamo and McEachran. Expect to see Macleod in a more advanced position throughout the season. If there was a season to put money on us it'll be this season, we're buying well now and selling even better. Egan for £4m, Woods for £7m and Watkins and Mepham if they do go to go for £15m a piece. We're don't have any proven, get out of this division 20+ goal forwards. But Maupay, Watkins, Marcondes, and Sawyers are all coming off of the back of promising seasons with more development in them and then the likes of Canos, Judge and Benrahma all seem to have the talent, just need to find the consistency. I'm not sure automatics will be on the cards for us this season as I think we'll end up in the play offs, but I think we'll go through periods where everything clicks and we blow whoever is infront of us away.
