  1. And won an unprecedented treble in Spanish football. Ironically something only matched by another Barcelona team, could you imagine how much Tesco would polish Real Madrid off if they'd won two trebles?
  2. Completely changed the way the game is perceived around the world. Honestly those two Champions League winning sides are the best football teams I've ever watched. It was peak Guardiola and we'll probably never see anything match it again.
  3. United don't have a bad team as it is... Do they need another striker when Sanchez has come in? Probably not if he's at 100% this season. I like Pogba but he's never carried United, at Juve he was always part of a strong midfield with the likes of Pirlo, Vidal, Marchiso...you had creativity, teamwork and defending with those three alone...however the support of their current players hasn't been enough. I'm guessing Matic, Fred and Pogba is the expected midfield line up this season?
  4. Watch your mouth Potter I played football with him once

    Work/Jobs Thread

I literally enjoyed work night shifts, throughout the weekend, with a 4 hour round travel at times cleaning toilets than I do my current "cushty" admin role

UK it's generally fairly close by.
  7. I feel like you lot losing him was a blessing in disguise, not to say he was shit because he's not but his general play of cutting in from the left and shooting is repetitive and seems to break up the fluidity of attacks. Definitely noticed that at times during his time at Barce so far anyway, not sure if @SirBalon would agree there. But your attack is so fluid now and Salah means Coutinho is almost a forgotten man...if not for the ridiculous price tag anyway.
  8. Barce wouldn't have paid £146m upfront anyway, they were desperate for Coutinho after the Neymar fuck up. Daylight robbery there.
  9. Jurgen Klopp has still spent money and spending that money is exactly the same as everyone else spending money. Who cares if Guardiola is spending oil money, the Premier League is full of oil money, television money is no different. Imagine if Liverpool sold Coutinho, then bought a load of deadwood with the money made available and flopped. Nobody would be saying "well technically he's not spent anything because of net spend, great bloke is our Jurgen". So far Klopp has spent big and spent wisely, but to say he's not spent anything or it doesn't matter because of net spend wrong. Evidently I've been watching far too much Suits because I really couldn't care less about this shit
  10. I'm not bothered about whether you do well or not, the point is going over your head.

    Rugby League

Rabbitohs top of the NRL, pretty close top 8 so far. @Spike you a Broncos fan?
  12. Net spend allows you to analyse how the club makes its money. Using it in an argument about how much Klopp does or doesn't spend is idiotic. Klopps comes from Liverpool's transfers, United's comes from them being a bigger club than you. Your argument for Klopp can be used for Mourinho, as if he is just going to say "na Ed mate you have all that Pogba money the club has generated, spread it around the board, I'm happy with what I've got." The fact is Klopp has had big money made available to him, the board did not need to reinvest player transfers into the squad but they did. And he's now gone out and spent it. To say he hasn't spent anything is to ignore the basics of running a club. You made a profit, that profit was put into a "war chest" and Klopp went out and spent it. He is one of the biggest spending managers in the league, he's just been given the funds from player sales rather than merchandise.

    Boxing

Looking forward to Whyte Parker, hoping for a Whyte win. The guy is a beast, want to see those body shots against Wilder.
  14. Net spend is only relevant when talking balancing the books, but whether you've made £160m through tickets, sponsors and merchandise or if you've made it from player sales....you're still spending the same money. Klopp through the use of the market and selling Coutinho especially has been able to spend millions. He's had a transfer committee behind him to also buy and sell. He should be critiqued just the same as any other manager spending what he does.
  15. I know he's fit now, I was referring to when he first joined Chelsea.
  16. Yeah, finished not long after they signed him. Doesn't mean he's back to full fitness or 100% sharp.
  17. What's happening to Ross Barkley this season? My understanding is that he wasn't that fit to jump straight back into the team after his long term injury last season. Is he expected to be a first teamer or will it be another classic Chelsea case?

  19. They must be strapped for cash then.
  20. Are we surprised that a campaign based on xenophobia, racism and Islamophobia has been fined for breaking the law and referred to the Police? Treading on reasonable grounds for a second referendum now?

I'm guilty of hammering the first few lengths and then struggling the next. Best is when you can just get a continuous speed with no need to stop.
  22. Yeah plus a lot of people in their 20s/30s who will remember Ronaldo for example, Inter to most people around me when I was young seemed the more likeable side.
  23. I don't think think we actually have any Italians on the forum so it dwindles down to foreign support where we have 1-2 Inter fans and that's about it? Don't have any Juve fans I don't think and they're the biggest club in Italy.
