  1. Yeah, it ain’t the George until you get to Division One. Some of the teams start trying to play football then, but all will be quite organised an well drilled. I actualy think for the last few years Division One has been stronger than the Premier Division. We have our reserve team in Division Five, but the players in there are a long way off of being good enough for the First Team.
  2. Well this isn't too clear at the moment. It should be to the division we came from which would be the Essex Olympian Division One, but then from then on it will be into the Essex Olympian Premier Division. It is not clear though whether there will be any relegation this season as there are a few clubs who might not make the ground grading criteria for next season. There are also a couple of teams that are just well out of their depth in the NLS. Poor infrastructure, administration, etc. So it's no guarantee that regardless of where these teams finish they will still be permitted to continue within the league. What is meant to happen at the end of the season is the team that finishes top of each of the 19 Step 6 Leagues will be promoted into their regional Step 5 league and the teams finishing in the bottom two places will be demoted. Additionally, the top 9 second placed teams across all Step 6 Leagues, determined on an average points per game basis, shall also be promoted.
  3. Absolutely deserving of an upvote.
  4. Well you join the queue for a start.
  5. Short term to just get our house in order. I took a break from the club for about 5 years due to work. I came back this season just in time for pre-season. We've got a real good core of people involved, but there's a lot going on with too few people doing it, so dealing with that. I need to get more volunteers in. Longer term I want us to be a real community club. Football for all regardless of ability. So providing football for every age group and gender. And with the First Team we just want to get as high up the NLS as possible, but this season our objective is to stay in Step 6.
  6. Involved. Chairman/Secretary plus any other hats I have to wear along the way. Haven't had to do turnstiles yet.
  7. Too many egos. I was discussing this with the Development team at County FA earlier this week. There's quantity but not enough quality, and clubs are far too precious to merge with others. Generally will only happen if one takes in the other rather than an actual merger to create something new.
  8. This is sadly too true. Our area is saturated with teams which makes it so difficult to build a fanbase. We've probably also taken on a bit too much this season with the jump into Step 6, but it was an opportunity we had to take. Can you believe that at Step 6 [so only the second rung of the NLS ladder] we are the only team in our league that doesn't have a playing budget for players. I cannot for the life of me get my head around that players at our level are actually receiving money to play. It's a joke. But I don't want to end on a downer. We're trying to compete and build something bigger than just a successful First Team. Just need to get a few more bodies through the turnstiles.

    Happy birthday.
  10. So I don't need to bother with the first one at all? Nice. That'll save me some time.
  11. Time to try and encourage you guys all to follow my team, Newbury Forest. This season we're playing at Step 6 in the NLS for the first time. Essex didn't have a Step 6 competition for some bizarre reason, so The FA got one set up for 2018/19. As we are ground sharing with Redbridge we had the facilities to participate. Added to the fact that we were an Essex Olympian Premier League team up until a couple of seasons ago, and we had won the Essex Saturday Premier cup twice in the last 6 years, we were invited to apply. So now we play in Thurlow Nunn League First Division South which feeds into the Essex Senior League. It's a real exciting but extremely challenging season for us. We've got a great deal to do to build the support up, especially for the area we are in. So I'll give you regular updates in here, and hopefully you'll follow our exploits both on here, Twitter [@NeburyForestFC] and on our website [www.newburyforestfc.co.uk].
  12. I’ve got Hitman 2. So that's just a rehash of the first one?
  13. Just finished with Just Cause 4. Now my boys told me I needed to download Hitman, so that's up next.
  14. Have just started doing Lee Child's stuff. Like that to. You tried Paul Finch or Vince Flynn?
  15. I'd go as far as saying it would be an interesting read even to those who don't have an interest in football. It's a good book. I love Baldacci books. One of only a few authors that I've read all their books. Currently trying to read 'Steve Jobs'. Thought I'd be more interested in it, but it's proving to be quite a struggle.
  16. Well I think you're all stupid, because I'm smart, you're dumb; I'm big, you're little; I'm right, you're wrong, and there's nothing you can do about it.
  17. You're far too polite. When I was house hunting if I didn't like a place I didn't muck about. If I didn't like it from the off I'd say so and leave.
  18. Yeah. I agree with you that I think they went off the boil for a bit, but it got better. Not as good as it was initially, but that was always a high level to maintain. Else yo can just always watch it on mute and just enjoy watching Donna, Rachel and Jessica.
  19. See, that surprises me. I always took you as a thumb up Tom Holland kinda guy.
  20. Took my lads to see Spider-Man: Homecoming and I enjoyed it. Anything with Marisa Tomei in it though gets a thumbs up from me. Michael Keaton surprised me as Vulture. Didn't think it would work, but he was okay. 7.5/10
  21. If somebody wants to give money to charity regardless of the amount then fair play to them, whatever their reasons are behind it. They are not obliged to so in my view any money is better than no money.

Of course mate. It will be my pleasure. I've got the lot on Sky and was paying well over £100/month. Got into it with them just before Christmas and cancelled my subscription. Week before it was all to be turned off they called and offered to deduct 60% off of the monthly amount for nine months, which I took. As long as you're happy to take the risk that they'll call your bluff [but it the risk seems low from others I know who have done similar] then tell them you are cancelling. The cancellation team will call to offer you something to stay.
