Apologies for being awol for so long, I had to deal with a few health niggles and then I was completely blindsided by the news that my Father had been fighting pancreatic cancer for 8 months and hadn't told me. Two weeks after I was informed he died. Literally 36 hours after I saw him for the last time. So all in all 2023 has been a bit of a mixed bag. I'm hoping to be more active and even resurrect Mafia Wars.

Well this year has been quite something. My wife and I recently lost our 3rd baby during pregnancy, and had to give birth to our child at 22 weeks. Funeral is next week. I'm not sure I have the bandwidth for Mafia Wars this year sadly.

    Any tactical tweaks/formation updates?

Shifting between a 4-2-3-1 and 3-4-3 in match. Build up is a lot more efficient and patterns of play in the attacking phase provide the attackers a platform to express themselves. Defensive structure still very good.

    Stand-out youngster:

    Malo Gusto.

Unreal signing. This lad would start for most clubs. Going to have zero issues with James' out injured. Season typically is over when he's out of the squad.

    Most improved player:

Gallagher. Has done surprising well playing in a deep pivot. Not sure where his future lies though.

    Overall view on your pre-season:

    9/10.

Loved every second of it. Night and day difference between the disaster preseason of last summer.

Expected team vs Liverpool. (Nkunku out injured).

    Kepa

    James Silva Colwill Chilwell

    Gallagher Enzo

    Sterling Carney Mudryk

    Jackson

Against Brighton I saw two distinct patterns I'd really like to see more of this season, 4-1-4-1 off the ball, where Gallagher was alongside Chukwuemeka pressing opposition defenders. That looks like goals potential for a midfielder who can finish.

Then there was the 3-2-4-1 with Cucu tucking into a double pivot. I think there's going to be some serious invention from this side this season. Newcastle struggled to keep up with the position changes.

  4. It's good to be home! Mafia Wars will continue to be hosted on our Discord server - unless the majority choose to switch it back here. Discord isn't the forum, but Mafia Wars was that much more responsive on Discord as the last iteration showed.

  5. So despite Vince having left WWE, he still has a 80% decision right majority with them. He's trying to force his way back into WWE claiming he got 'bad advice' to quit over allegations he left over. I cannot believe he'd be so insane to do this given it's already hit WWE share prices.

  6. Matt Smith does look like one of those Christmas Island rock faces as a human being, which is curiously distracting. I don't think his performance as Daemon is all that bad to be honest, he's a decent actor. The issue for Matt when he plays a villain is that he lacks menace.

  8. Putin simply cannot be allowed to determine the sovereignty of another county, irrespective of his views on NATO. If the West abandons to Ukraine to Russia then we have learned nothing from History. Germany used ethnic Germans as a means to destabilize countries for expansionism and control in the 1930s and Putin is using exactly the same approach. Once Ukraine becomes a vassal state, Georgia will be the next. They're actively engaging in wanting to join the EU and by flanking each side of the country in problems it prevents the country from being able to do so.

Putin recognizes that a more democratic neighbour on its doorstep will only pull further away from their sphere of influence. Indeed by attacking now he's moving before Ukraine becomes too difficult to overcome. My concern goes out to the Baltic States, Putin will almost certainly want to extricate them from NATO. Whilst we cannot get into a nuclear exchange, Russia cannot be allowed to dictate terms of sovereignty for another nation.

@The Palace Fan @Devil-Dick Willie @6666 any of you remember right to censor? @Batardyou might remember them. They use to get the loudest boos I have ever heard. They were pure heels. Did feel like it's a bit odd to use that gimmick though for ivory as I'm not sure how many people would have heard of them

I remember them well. Bull Buchanan was a beast.

  10. One botch that wasn't picked up was McCool was eliminated early by mistake. That said, the amount of eliminations that were not shown live is fucking poor.
