If United or Liverpool would have done that domestic treble (your not having the community shield as a valid trophy) then it would have been a media circus, pull outs in the press etc...Maybe a tv special. I agree with that to be fair but you can't take nothing away from Atletico, they stuck to their task and did dismantle you in the second half. A team without their structure would have crumbled and been a few goals behind rendering your keepers mistake null and void.

I actually thought Atletico were brilliant that night, your always going to have the lions share of possession at Anfield but Atletico stuck to their task, got some luck but took you apart in extra time.

Goetz, Reus, Gundogen, Lewendowski, Hummels, Kagawa, Blasikowski.... The spine of the team were all early 20's as they are all still playing to this day and that's without digging up the rest of the squad. Heavy metal football takes it's toll, no way can a team maintain the same level season after season after season. Klopp is an incredible manager but in my opinion his biggest flaw is he builds and incredible team and he doesn't rotate it enough, he sticks with his strongest eleven and he runs them into the ground. Liverpool rightly won the league last season but before the first lockdown signs were there fatigue was kicking in, Atletico dismantled you at Anfield and you looked out on your feet. The league was in the bag anyway, you couldn't be caught but it was a little glimpse into what lay ahead. Let's see what he does when he gets VVD back in the team, I will judge him then myself.

All these records and trophies and nobody actually cares other than City fans. First club to buy (sorry win) the domestic treble and it's not even been spoke about hardly since. United do treble in 1999 and it's still lauded to this day. Liverpool win first League title in 30 years and there are documentaries and street parties during a global pandemic. City can win 50 games on the trot, win countless trophies but the money spent building over a ten year period has turned people off football. He bought the club, he bought the A list players, he bought the best backroom team in European football, he then bought the best manager in world football. One thing he will never ever be able to buy..... The respect of the real football fan, any success gained by a club that's been grown organically will always dwarf whatever success City have built from cash. City fans may say United and Liverpool have spent silly sums, but that argument has it's flaw....... We've earned that money by being the two biggest sporting clubs/brands in England and it doesn't matter what City do or spend or win, that won't ever change. The End......

Surely Levy is considering his position now, Spurs have one of the best attacking line ups in the Premier league all he seems interested in doing is shutting the door and praying one of Kane and Son can break away to score. It's such an outdated system and it has to be carried out by a team with a solid defensive unit and Spurs haven't got that.
