Premier League Off-Topic

According to the Daily Mail, Vincent Kompany told Darren England he was a "fucking cheat" multiple times in their match against Chelsea. Now if the Daily Mail is telling the truth (and that's a big if) it makes what Kompany said after the match so funny. After the match, Kompany said: "I've said it to the referees themselves, the officials, refereeing hasn't been good enough this season. And I have said that in, I think, a constructive way." -

Do the comments say it's because PMGOL just hate Wolves? -

Every Liverpool fan I know has completely lost patience with him and just us to eat the loss and move him on ASAP. Terrible signing. Julian Ward must have been a United or Everton fan too. Came in, pissed away a load of money on some bad signings, then promptly quit and fucked off into the sunset. No idea where he's at now, but he probably shouldn't be working in football lol -

If anyone's interested in Salah for a decent price this summer, I think we'd be mental not to sell. He's been rubbish since his return from the AFCON injury and is genuinely looking like one of our worst players out there. He'll always be a legend and I've got nothing but respect for the man for how he's played for us but... I'm increasingly believing he's well passed his best. Nunez needs to be shown the door ASAP imo. I've given up all hope with him. He's aged me with his incomprehensibly shit finishing - I'm tired of watching him play for us. In some ways, maybe the way things have fallen off for us so dramatically is a good thing in the long run. I think now nobody will question really any big changes Edwards & Hughes might want to make and I think there's a lot less pressure on Slot/whoever the fuck comes in after Klopp considering how the season's fallen apart. -

Yeah that's because Arjen Robben was actually world class, while Diaz is a million miles from world class -

He works hard but he's got absolute dogshit end product. Like Arjen Robben, always just cutting inside looking to shoot - only problem is he's fucking shit at shooting. -

Two goals down in a Merseyside derby and he's putting on defenders instead of bringing on the young striker who's actually looked clinical when given a chance for us... terrible all around from Klopp and from the squad. Nothing to play for and nothing to lose now, might as well bench the flops like Nunez and Diaz and give the kids a go instead. Got a hell of a lot more faith in them tbh. -

No it was fucking stupid. But some of these players should be forced out for the way this season’s fallen apart tbh. -

Not to keen on Szobo starting over Endo at the moment, but would be a good match for him to rediscover form. -

Chelsea are so fucking shit it's unreal -
If we end up with Slot... and United and Everton keep their managers... there won't be a single strand of hair on the head of any manager for any of the 4 clubs from Liverpool & Manchester.

Dunno how he wasn't sent off tbh, that was a shockingly bad challenge. -
They probably shouldn't.

It's always a minority that's extreme, but the extremists are a problem and their rhetoric reaching more and more people inevitably leads to more extremism. And this small minority has caused quite a bit of noise with their rhetoric, as well as managing to kick off a few times into outright violence. If you've got a university scrambling to at least look like they're making an effort to look like they're protecting students so they don't get hit with a big lawsuit, it's either a considerable minority or they're a very motivated minority. No just saying people far away from being in actual harms way of this conflict shouldn't be using protests that should be done in the name of human rights and Palestinian statehood shouldn't be using platforms to spread hate and encourage violence.
-
I don't think they should ban protests, but when shit crosses into blatant hate speech (as above) and devolves into violence - which has happened now at Columbia University multiple times (and neither "side" is blameless)... the school is right to step in and demand protecting for its students. Evidently, though, that's not enough to quell these protests from growing, their rhetoric getting increasingly ugly, and the threat of future violence seems unlikely. I don't think being pro-Palestinian or having sympathies that lie with the Palestinians makes you necessarily antisemitic. I don't think being Israelis or pro-Israel people all hate Arabs and think it's just fine for the IDF to slaughter them. But I think there's substantial people amongst the pro-Palestine/pro-Israel sides that take advantage of this conflict to just spread their hatred. But you're right that these extremists aren't helping anybody. They're not doing anything to better the lives of anyone actually impacted by their "cause" - they're just spreading hatred.
-
I don't think we should be pretending like things like this aren't antisemitic: How would we feel if that was 5 black guys standing around with BLM flags & some guy in white robes holds up a sign that says "the Klan's next targets"? Some of the footage coming out of the Columbia protests are outrageous, the media coverage has been insane to me - it's scenes that rival that white nationalist "Unite the Right" in terms of open displays of racial hatred, sort of just being swept under the rug. There's been this trend among the far-left to champion good and worthwhile causes that deserve support: Palestinian statehood, racial equality, ending police brutality... and then go about support of these things in the most repulsive and repugnant way that draws criticism for these worthwhile causes. Then leaving the movement in tatters for the next trendy cause to protest for. It's honestly a disgrace, because worthwhile causes that make the world a better place should be supported. But going about it in a way that is disgusting is going to do nothing positive. And I don't see how displays like this picture from Columbia University, or chanting things like "gas the Jews" or "Jews go back to Poland/Romania/Europe" are going to lead to anything positive for those who actually want to see Palestinian statehood and a restoration of Palestinian human rights and dignity.

Watching that tactics video @Danny posted, I actually thought the opposite. It requires some big changes to how our defense and midfield are set up, a season after we'd spent a lot of money to totally rebuild the midfield. And I think would necessitate making quite a few big changes next season, where I think we're destined to struggle due to being in transition of systems, that I think might have made the process go on a bit longer than it would for a manager that plays with a back 4. Cos really with our central midfielders, only really Endo and Mac Allister would fit in with Amorim's tactics imo.

Chris Bascombe & Melissa Reddy with similar articles now too - might be something in it.

I'm genuinely worried it'll be Mourinho.
