  1. Was interested to see this because I'm always seeing people say that Salah never fills them with confidence when taking a penalty. And I don't know why because there's so much variety to his penalties. Only one miss, way back in 2017.
  2. I know I'm fully aware that there's plenty of decent proper Mancs. Sometimes 'banter' at football matches sinks to embarrassing levels
  3. They don't take profits out of the club. The profit will come when they sell. And it will be huge given how cheap they got it. It's just not true that they haven't invested though. They took on the debt left by Hicks and Gillett. They've invested in the stadium and training facilities. They want the club to be self sufficient when it comes to investment in the playing side. I've absolutely no issue with that. I've said previously that when we had Hicks and Gillett all I wanted was the club to be able to spend the money it makes. That is now happening.
  4. I think people do under sell Origi's contributions. This being a prime example. I mean, stepping up in a European Cup semi final to score two goals when two of your front three are out injured is pretty big like. But it's just brushed off as if it doesn't mean much. I'm trying to think of times where two of the front three have been out of the starting line up in league and European games. I can only think of Barca 18/19 and Everton last season. Origi scored four goals in those two games. Everyone on here was fuming with that line up for the Everton game too! He does seem to take more of a back seat when he plays with two of the others. Two of the three are very rarely out at the same time and as long as Liverpool are winning the games though it's not really an issue. The concerns if he had to start multiple games in a row are understandable but then he never gets the chance to even start back to back games so we just don't know if he would be good enough over those games. The last time he was starting regularly for Liverpool was 15/16 and 16/17 and he did go on a bit of a scoring run both times if I remember rightly. He's still only 25 too. Maybe Klopp sees something that is worth working with to keep him around at least for the time being.
  5. Rick has been moaning over the last few weeks that Liverpool didn't sign Werner and Havertz who would have cost upwards of £50m and £60m each. Let's not pretend this is because we're not spending £20-30m here or there. Werner may well have happened without a pandemic but it didn't so just suck it up.
  6. I've got a feeling Thiago will happen. If it does, I don't see why anyone would have an issue with Fabinho as fourth choice CB. It's better than going out and spending a needless amount of money on a player who would probably be on a similar level to a Ragnar Klavan.
  7. Yeah I was just being a bit of a cunt there. But seriously, if Klopp thinks that the likes of Jones and Minamino can step up to the required level, who are a few dickheads on an internet forum to tell him he's wrong? The same shouts of 'not good enough at the moment' or being underwhelmed with an £8m signing were leveled at players like Trent and Robertson three years ago. Only two years ago Henderson wasn't good enough. I was one of them that thought it too. But guess what, he improved massively.
  8. There's a lot to be said for keeping your best players. It's something a lot of us have moaned about in the last ten years or so. Keeping them does cost a lot of money, believe it or not. Klopp and the recruitment team deserve the trust of the fanbase after what has been achieved over the last couple of years. Klopp has a track record of vastly improving players but because people can't see it in £xm it doesn't count as an improvement apparently. What these people moaning really want is a sugar daddy to buy two £50m players for every position.
  9. We've had the odd game like that in the last two seasons though against teams you might not expect it. The important thing is getting the win
  10. Absolutely. You really need to stop comparing Liverpool to Man City though. Run completely differently off the pitch and the managers are very different in how they manage their squads too. What happened to waiting to see what happens between now and the end of the window anyway?
  11. When Matip is fit there's definitely a debate to be had between him and Gomez I think. Both good players and most would go for Gomez over Matip but let's not forget how good Matip was in the 18/19 run in and he started last season ahead of Gomez.
  12. I can't remember to be honest. I think at the time it was maybe quite a large fee for a player from a relegated side
  13. Sky reporting Wijnaldum held positive talks with Klopp and he wants to sign a new contract. None of the reliable journos reporting this yet though I don't think. Would be good if true though
  14. It's fair to raise the point about form pre and post lockdown but equally, that can be attributed to the job basically being done at that point. People will point to the Atletico tie too but the truth is Liverpool were actually very good in that second leg and they go through if Alisson was fit. You know that I don't wear red tinted specs when it comes to those running the club. I was more critical than anyone of the way they were doing things before Klopp, even up until 2-3 years ago if you like. I will call them out when they make stupid calls such as the furlough or copyright situations. What I don't think you can keep banging on about is way they've operated on football matters in recent years. Klopp has backed up pretty much every thing he's said or any decision he has made. Now is not the time to judge really is it. It's just tiresome seeing the same thing in every thread and on anything Liverpool related on social media
  15. Last July the same conversations were had. As it turned out we didn't have to wait until May to judge because the league was won by January
  16. As far as I'm aware he can only play centrally? Mad that you're moaning about lack of investment over 12-18 months when the two biggest trophies we all wanted have been delivered in that time, the mind boggles. There's also a couple of kids who will play a more prominent role this season (Curtis Jones potentially has a big season ahead of him) but it's like they don't count because they didn't cost a fortune. With the improvements of some players here already we're already potentially stronger. Of course there's going to need to be investment at some point and ideally I'd like to see at least one more addition but if it doesn't happen I'm ok with that. Start moaning if we stop winning. Or if we lose Wijnaldum without replacing him
  17. Why would selling Brewster push you over the edge? He's fourth, probably fifth choice for that central attacking position. I also get the feeling Klopp doesn't really fancy him.The talk is that there will be a buy back clause so I don't really see an issue with it if it was helping fund another signing. Love how you're just willing to ignore the financials which do a very good job of explaining why Liverpool won't take unnecessary risks at the moment.
  18. I think some fans would be happier if we were 4th/5th and needing to sign four or five each summer just so they can get 'excited' over transfers.
  19. They got the club on the cheap and they will make a huge profit whenever they come to sell. The investments in the stadium and Kirkby have been done in the form of interest free loans and that's absolutely fine. When we were going through all that shit with Hicks and Gillett everyone kept saying they just wanted the club to spend what it earned rather than it being taken up by £30m+ interest payments each year. My issue with them was always the transfer strategy and no one can say that it was working pre-Klopp. Appointing a proper manager like Klopp has been a huge reason why it has worked over the last few years
  20. Other clubs are taking out loans. Liverpool aren't prepared to do that
  21. Yes I know and it's why he's the perfect fit for Liverpool's business model. I'm sure ideally for him though he'd be able to bring in at least one more player this summer without selling to buy. That thread explains to those who think Liverpool should be able to go out and spend £60m on one player just why they can't, especially in the current climate. But he's very good at making the most of what he has.
