Yeah at the time it felt mad to keep him given the way we ended that season. It never felt like he would turn it around after the semi final defeat and the 6-1 seemed a massive case of him losing dressing room. Maybe the plan was to wait around for Klopp and if so, it's all worked out brilliantly.

Rodgers would have needed to have started the 15/16 season well to have had any hope of keeping his job. The end to the 14/15 season was terrible. Throw in the embarrassing FA Cup semi final defeat too. He could have had no complaints if he'd been sacked after the 6-1 at Stoke.

He was without doubt the best available at that point. I had very little faith at the time that the club would go out and get him though. Fair point. Remarkable that he's conceded just five league goals though.

I think the issue is whether it's accurately measuring whether players are offside at the point the ball is played. The technology isn't completely accurate.

There's nothing wrong with the rule. The technology isn't good enough at the moment to call the tightest decisions though.

There's a huge drop off from Salah and Mane to their replacements. Can get by if they're missing for one game maybe but over a number of weeks? I think you're underestimating just how good they are. It would be difficult to keep up the form of the last 18 months without two of the best players in world football It also depends on how the fixtures fall too of course

Apparently the AFCON could be moved back to Jan/Feb next season. Would obviously be a big blow to us losing Salah, Mane and Keita for a few weeks

It definitely won't be March, that's virtually impossible I think. The only recent comparison we have is City 17/18 and they won it mid April I think
