  1. That's mad he's been nominated after drawing with Everton and Aston Villa and losing at Watford! Where do I vote?
  2. I wonder why that might be? You're still not wording this very well by the way are you?
  3. Young black footballers definitely get different treatment in the media though. Just look at some of the headlines that have been written about Raheem Sterling previously. I'm sure he also hit out at one of the papers not too long ago at the difference in their reporting of a young white footballer (Foden) buying a multi million pound house compared with the young black footballer (I forget his name but he's at City)
  4. Suarez scored a better one than that in the same game imo. The one where he flicked it around the defender and hit it on the half volley about 20 yards out
  5. Do any of the other leagues with VAR have this issue with offside? Was listening to something earlier and the point was made that it's all very English this 'let's change the rules because we can't get it right'.
  6. VAR 'should not be too forensic' - football law-makers set to issue guidance - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50944416 Football's law-makers say the video assistant referee system should not be "too forensic" when it comes to offsides - and should only be used to reverse "clear and obvious" errors. Five goals in the Premier League were ruled out at the weekend for marginal offsides, leading some managers and players to criticise VAR. Lukas Brud, general secretary of the International Football Association Board, said: "With VAR we see some things that are going in a direction that we may need to re-adjust." He said the body would reissue guidance on VAR's use after its annual general meeting in February. "If you spend multiple minutes trying to identify whether it is offside or not, then it's not clear and obvious and the original decision should stand," he said. He added: "What we really need to stress is that 'clear and obvious' applies to every single situation that is being reviewed by the VAR or the referee. "In theory, 1mm offside is offside, but if a decision is taken that a player is not offside and the VAR is trying to identify through looking at five, six, seven, 10, 12 cameras whether or not it was offside, then the original decision should stand. "This is the problem. People are trying to be too forensic. We are not looking to make a better decision, we are trying to get rid of the clear and obvious mistakes. "If video evidence shows that a player was in an offside position, he was offside full stop. If it's not obvious, then the decision cannot be changed, you stay with the original decision. "We will be communicating to all competitions that are using VAR some updates in the coming weeks, because we are observing some developments that are not particularly the way they should be."
  7. Our average at the moment would see us concede 30 over 38 games I think. Apart from last season and the season before that's better than most champions this decade

  9. Isn't the reason a lot of people discount it because it used to be shared if the match ended in a draw and that counts towards a clubs 'wins' in the competition?
  10. @Dr. Gonzo @Rick I think we'll only sign another CB when one of them actually leaves. Can definitely see Lovren going next summer seeing as it almost happened in the last window
  11. Fair play if they pull it off. Big statement. Interesting how he does in a job where he actually has to try and build something though rather than walking into jobs where a lot of the foundations have already been laid out
  12. Hoever, Van Den Berg and Elliott have been added to the CWC squad and will fly out after the League Cup game
  13. It would have definitely helped keep some of the traditional Labour seats if they stuck to Corbyn's original position of honouring the referendum result. Whether it would have been enough amongst all the smears to stop a Tory majority, maybe not.
  14. Can I ask why you think a centrist remainer might be a good option?
  15. The next Labour leader can't be a remainy type otherwise there's no way back. They need someone who will appeal to those that they've lost in this election. It's going to be difficult and probably will take more than five years but the vote on next leader is massive
  16. If we end up in the 3rd/4th place play off there's no way we're playing much of the first 11. Gini has travelled so is obviously fit to play in one of the games. We've plenty of options in midfield even without Fabinho. The defence is a concern though I agree
  17. Of course it's well behind the league and Champions League. The League Cup and FA Cup though? Well we're only playing two games to win this so I'd take it over the League Cup given the problems the semi final scheduling brings and the FA Cup, it would be nice to have a run in that but I wouldn't want us playing the first eleven to get through difficult ties. If we look at it properly, it's only really one extra game for the first team to win this. The kids will be playing the League Cup game and there should be a chance to rotate in the semi final
  18. My understanding was that we got permission to fly a few of the youngsters out after the Villa game, not sure what the situation with any first team players was. I think it's likely, as you say, a few of the fringe players will play in at least the semi final anyway Why are we losing league points to win this?
  19. I'd rather we weren't having to go to a place like Qatar to play this tournament but I absolutely want to win it. I think Klopp will use it as a warm weather training camp to a degree. The semi final should be an opportunity to rotate.
