  1. so I take it Ronaldo won't be going to Chelsea now
  2. Any fan will tell you that its not Potter that is the problem, its a certain American that came in and decided to make himself Director of Football
  3. I am not a big international football fan so the issue of whether trippier et al get time is not a major issue, while I would not be upset with them representing their countries and hopefully doing it with the same pride and intensity as they do for us, I would also not really be upset if Trent plays and Pope/Wilson are hardly used if at all, I would also have not really been upset with Ivan Toney who deserved to go (on football basis) and probably could have been added over a passenger like Phillips.
  4. a P63 has a midair collision with a B17 at an air show yesterday. seeing how the P63 comes it it looks like he lost visual of the B17 due to the low altitude his nose is above the horizon and the B17 is out of visual
  5. Ukraine destroyed the only bridge into Kherson it is more a strategic withdraw so they don't leave troops isolated on the wrong side of the river and unable to supply. the river is a natural barrier and a zero point. I see the UK ministry of defence and intelligence put up an up to date map and people screamed it is not true because CNN and co said Kherson was taken, in reality the gains are minor and Russia controls 200-300 miles inside Ukraine from east to south. the war is NATO reneging on the Minsk accord and proliferating military occupation beyond the red line drawn in 1990. the only solution to this madness is peace talks but NATO will not bully Russia into consensus on their terms. if this continues then I'm afraid the consequences will come.
  6. pretty good reality perspective rather than support Ukraine because the puppet masters that started it tell you too.
  7. Running Trump would be a very bad mistake and will undo the positive work done, Republicans turned a few seats in California and New York and the landslide shift in Florida shows that it is about the quality of candidate. Hershel Walker and Dr Oz were terrible candidates and not very ensuring that the quality of candidates both democrat and republican in Pennsylvania and Georgia are pretty bad all round. I wouldn't go along with Biden claiming that because the house and senate didn't move that much is a sign of victory, it was a case of mitigated damage but for a Democrat president protected by social media to have such a terrible rating but the perpetuated lies about the end of democracy and civil war shows that the Democrats are not offering up much and benefited from terrible candidates running against them. Like Brand did say and it is a common view point by neutral commentators that the culture war is cooked up to distract people from what America is really doing, selling war since 1950
  8. He is for decentralised government, anti globalist and all its nefarious mechanisms. I don't really see any problem with his political views.
  9. The cost of stability is that eventually it catches up, Liverpool have the 3rd oldest team in the league and grandfather time affects people differently. There are a lot of variables that could not be predicted but they knew two years ago that most of the "stars" are in their prime to regression years, players from 29-33 years are lottery tickets to grandfather time. Arsenal took the youth rebuild approach and will be good for a very long time because of it.
  10. part of me will curious if some dodgy money comes in, whether there will be a "moral dilemma". I'm going in the other thread but it seems like some are not opposed to it.
  11. Im conflicted, it is probably the last time Burn or Wilson will have the chance to go to a world cup, but I would rather they don't.
  12. I think it will take us a while to be a genuine threat to the status quo. this season we are that plucky underdog, the Tampa Bay Rays that are deservedly punching with the heavies, but the new FFP rules will make it hard for us to spend a lot of money until we can pump up our commercial revenue. of course plans are afoot to address that going from a measly 6m a season with castore to a lucrative deal with Adidas. we also amortized 10-15m per season for 10 years on shared naming and stadium sponsorship and then there is Aramco and Aston Martin sponsorships. If we get to the champions league that would be another cash windfall so there is a lot to play for other than being that plucky underdog
  13. spurs may become a team that shows money isn't always the way to trophies, for the last 15 years spurs have blown big money bags on building teams and they haven't done jack.
  14. Zaha is a good player but his window is closing, I think he is to hold now to be interested in. He should stick it out with Palace.
  15. interesting analysis, hard to say a guy with 4 or so goals can be considered a bad thing but the explanation is worth it
  16. Dietmar Hamman suggesting Liverpool get Joelinton like the good ol days when we were stepping stone United. there are two chances of that happening, fuck and all. stats wise it looks like Fabinho and This to had great games and in general all of Liverpool's players had good games so I looked at the methodology and it's scewed towards attacking play. defensively Liverpool have become unrecognizable, Leeds forced Liverpool into a cramped central orientated game and outright murdered them on the flanks normally a Liverpool strategy. the last goal sees a winger get past 3 defenders without any trickery, just basic running through and the three pool defenders just gave up then VD gets isolated against 2 Leeds players. Liverpool are dead last in tackle success rates which is probably the biggest reason to their struggles, but the team that played in Paris seems to be physically and mentally gone.
  17. it's fair to say Potter has inherited side that doesn't fit his style, the problem being is many are newish players that Tuchel/Boehly bought.
  18. I quite like how Arteta has hon about his business and credit to arsenal for backing him following 8th, 8th and 5th.
  19. a cup competition based on knock out rules is a crapshoot much like a world series run, the best team often doesn't win. it doesn't change the fact that Chelsea haven't looked like a championship winning team since 16/17. Since Conte they have had Sarri, Lampard and Tuchel not much stability or planning, this past off season was a mess
  20. https://talksport.com/football/1233924/dele-alli-besiktas-manager-comments-everton-loanee/ not sure where this goes but looks like dele is done.
