  1. Yep. This is a bad one. Almost certainly criminal. And horribly immoral. Probably one of dozens of these calls he's made since the election... You really need to listen to the whole 60 minutes or a portion of it to see how delusional trump is at this point. He's fully incapable of accepting his defeat and knows he's likely to face criminal charges when he leaves office. He's unhinged and has nothing to lose. Agree it's not good for him or for the GOP ahead of tomorrow's Georgia runoffs. And coming in same morning as a profound Op Ed co-written by all ten living former secretaries of defence (including the two who served under trump) cautioning the military they may need to resist Trump if he tries to give orders inconsistent with a peaceful transfer of power. The fact these ten would feel the need to do something so unprecedented should sound alarm bells.
  2. This newly elected 41 year old congressman from Louisiana, Luke Letlow, was due to be sworn into Congress next month, however he has died from COVID 19 overnight.
  3. Received this bad boy for Xmas, which I didn't know existed. Looking forward to replaying 64 and sunshine and trying galaxy for the first time.
  4. I found this cathartic. Though its concerning to see the extent to which the Republican party have back his completely disproven claims and have echoed his calls for the result of the election to be overturned.
  5. On a per capita basis they are still in better shape for deaths than UK or Italy, but they have many states that are sparsely populated relative to those countries.
  6. Apparently America had 3167 deaths yesterday

  8. I can't help but wonder whether the University is more accurate in reporting its findings than the biotech company.
  9. For a start I think being an island makes a big difference, and we are very low on flight traffic now compared to before so we can control the 14 day quarantining of all new arrivals into the country and that stops a big source of the spread. Then really its just been that we stayed locked down until we had zero community transmission, and then reopened and used contact tracing to contain new outbreaks. Melbourne's situation was the biggest test of the resolve but ultimately they stuck to the strategy and appear to be back on course now. That meant pretty major lockdowns in Melbourne for longer than what most other places have endured.
  10. It may have been a press conference attempting a coup, but at least it had LOLs Jogi Loew behaviour....
  11. Melbourne was the source of Australia's only significant Covid outbreak which peaked at 800 cases a day in July but then we locked down very hard (schools shut etc). Today we clocked up our 20th day in a row with zero new cases from 10k daily tests, and the only positive cases around the country came from airport quarantine centre's. Likely this weekend we will fully reopen everything such as being able to have full stadiums again and restaurants back to their original capacity. We're finally in good spirits again. I think Covid is a lot easier to keep under control in summer.
  12. For certain the US is going to have a rough period over the next month. Hopefully not longer. They were a few weeks behind Europe with the third wave, but the cases and deaths yesterday were 200k and 1.97k respectively and still on a very exponential trajectory. To make matters worse Thanksgiving weekend is just around the corner and is sure to exacerbate things further.
  13. How the GOP has changed in 12 years...
  14. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2020/nov/10/johnsons-biden-win-tweet-contains-hidden-trump-congratulations?CMP=fb_gu&utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Facebook#Echobox=1605015330 What the fuck is this? What is Boris doing?
  15. Data from John's Hopkins shows the US recorded 201,961 cases in the last 24 hours. That has doubled in the last 7 days, and will probably keep increasing for a while after the election
  16. It is. The modern GOP are for the most part evil people taking advantage of lots of decent Americans. Almost all of those politicians are flatly dishonest about things they know better about. "If conservatives become convinced that they cannot win democratically, they will not abandon conservatism. They will reject democracy.”—David Frum Georgia senators David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler published a letter saying the Georgia election was a national embarrassment and calling on the Georgia secretary of state to resign. There is no basis for that. Biden is winning by 12500 votes which is massive compared to Bush v Gore
  17. It seems like he'll continue to bang the legal drum which will require an animated base for as long as he can, since that gives him the ability to raise money to pay off his campaign debts. I think he got pretty badly screwed by his former campaign manager. Possibly via illegal means. They had a billion dollars in April but by September they were well and truly in debt, and yet there was little visible media buys.
  18. Just imagine the awkwardness of actually being in that audience, but also being a sane human being. Just imagine what you'd be thinking in that situation....
  19. If you look at the fine print of this legal defence fund campaign it says: 60% of each contribution... to be designated toward DJTFP’s 2020 general election account for general election debt retirement until such debt is retired.
