    The introduction of the group stages to the UEFA Cup was the downfall of it. At the very least, having a different format to the Champions League made it something to watch. Having a knockout competition from the off was one of the best parts of it, and didn't just make it a lesser version. Bring that back and then we can start having some serious changes that people, outside of boardrooms, would like to see.

    All this talk of the Super League being a closed shop, and everyone outside of the major countries in Europe already thinks of the Champions League as a closed shop already. This new plan only benefits the larger leagues again. UEFA need to have some balls and reform it properly. What exactly are the big clubs going to threaten to do? Set up a Super League...

    NFL seems to have confirmed it's 17th game, basically seems to be their version of the EPL's 39th game idea.

    Amazon adding more sports to their broadcasting, as the exclusive home of Thursday night football. Would be interesting to see if they start to have their own on air talent or, like with English football, just borrow a few commentators and presenters for a their programmes.

    Font is the candidate (supposedly) bringing in Xavi as coach and Puyol as the new head of their youth development, right? Seems like a nice thing to have as an election pledge, going a bit like Ajax / Bayern, but seems a huge gamble to make.
