Work with a lot of gay men mate! Hahaha
-
Well I suppose the Romans were into a bit of that weren’t they? All those greasy Gladiators and all that.
-
I didn’t know he was that way inclined.
-
Really? Is that how you think football should work in terms of judging a head coach? You get knocked out in the SEMI FINAL of the LEAGUE CUP against Arsenal and this is a NEW LOW? I feel sorry for Zidane under your judgments because he’s just been knocked out of the Copa del Rey by a side playing in Spain’s first division for the first time in their history and is 19 points behind Barcelona in first place. I wonder why they’ve had patience with him.

Only two players and on only two occasions has a Real Madrid player been applauded in unison by the Camp Nou for an individual performance of utter excellence and those two were and remain Alfredo di Stéfano and Laurie Cunningham.
-
I know what you’re getting at and that’s also important. I’m not disagreeing with you and am just stating what you say that they should be remembered like the rest. I mean, he was the first English player to player for Real Madrid and was the most expensive signing in the world at one point because he had merited it.
-
Indeed mate and that’s what’s sad about it for me.
-
No player should be forgotten and I know you wasn’t trying to attempt to compare the two, but to bypass Fashanu is one thing (unforgivable), but Laurie Cunningham? Come on! There are much more lauded English players than Cunningham and the only time Cunningham gets his moment of limelight is through curiousity videos or documentaries that are racially motivated due to certain eras and the culture of the time. That’s not football! That’s not how his name should be called up and I would prefer wonderfully illustrated videos like that didn’t have to be made because they’re educational almost if you get what I mean and where does that tell you things are?

Pedro is another like that... Totally ambidextrous with batter qualities in one foot for some things and others on the other foot. I’m almost totally ambidextrous myself and I understand this confusion when asked questions that others find more confusing when watching me do something.
-
You see mate... This is where “the football fan” lets me down and I don’t want to go down the racial avenue on these things because it opens up a can of worms that doesn’t really offer much in terms of analysis or even anything anywhere near a conclusion. When we think of historic English players we all think about the usual suspects give or take a few names but some are automatically excluded through no fault of our own and down that road I’m not even going to go. But I’ve spoken about Laurie Cunningham various times since I joined the other place back in 2013. He was a pioneer of sorts and something of an enigma through no fault of his own. But I don’t want to harp on now so I’ll just leave it at that.

Sorry? You operated on people at THE BEACH?!?
-
Aaah! And the transparency when wet!
-
They can be amazing to be honest.
-
I’d like to know why these things weren’t happening 5 or 6 years ago. Everytime players like Özil and Alexis came in which were anomalies, they were due to pressure. This seems more organic and correct decisions but why didn’t it happen before and why were we subjected to stale bread all the time!
-
@Dickie Mate... I know it doesn’t help now because of how you fell, but time heals the hurt and when you least expect it someone else comes into your life. Head up mate!
-
He has committed errors defensively because he is naturally a midfielder but he is very competent in the defensive areas due to his physical attributes and pace on and off the ball. But he doesn’t commit as many errors as he used to.

Yep... There are various legends (some based on very high probabilities) that Galicians inhabited the British Isles especially the Cornish and Welsh regions. The connections between Ireland and northern Spain are well documented historically.
-
Really! Because both those surnames are very Galician especially the first one. obviously you don’t want to post your surname here but it would be interesting to see if your surname dates back to those regions.
-
He joined the group for the first time today for training which means that at least one more week will be needed before the club medical team give him the go ahead.
-
Apparently PSG were sniffing around in the summer and approached him while he was in Ibiza... I think it’s a defence mechanism against Qatar.

Sergi Roberto renews until 2022 Sergi Roberto is player number 2 in the renewal spree FC Barcelona have started. Sergi has extended by one year on his previous contract that was due to run out in 2021... It seems that the intention was to raise the buy-out clause which has gone from €100m to €500m. This particular contract renewal will please the Barcelona fans no end.

General La Liga Discussion
SirBalon replied to Carnivore Chris's topic in Spanish Football Forum - La Liga
Yeah, I must say that Paco Jémez seems to have gone completely mental. He’s always been very vocal but since his return to La Liga and Las Palmas, he’s coming out with the most ridiculous things, things that are best left in the dresssing room. He’ll never get The Spain job in this manner and to think that he was once touted as a possible future Barcelona coach. -
Hahaha... Don’t know about the Shakira videos stuff. I think she’s been begging him to be in one for a long time but he has been hesitant to do so from what I’ve read. As for leaving the club... I very much think so because he’s his own man with his own opinions in how things should be. He is very creative and thinks out of the box with a great perception on what the future holds... In other words the perfect entrepreneur. In my opinion he’ll leave the club alltogether so as to build a team and structure before putting himself up for election. He’s always said that he knows exactly how the club needs to be run and also where football should go in the future so as to be more in tune with the modern business ideal football lives in but also adding more of a fan inclusion into it all. Obviously he’s been brought up in a club that’s actually owned by the fans in FC Barcelona, but when he speaks about football in a general form he always makes sure people understand that he’s thinking about the PLCs too which for him have detached themselves from the real club fan.

That’s a bit of a strange extension to sign to be honest but it goes along with the thought that Piqué is going to retire early from football as he’s always alluded to. He already said that he would be retiring from international football after this oncoming World Cup in Russia and I doubt he’ll be staying on from 2022 as a professional footballer. He has many businesses ongoing and is building a massive media empire at the moment plus he’s made it no secret that he wants to become the president of FC Barcelona.
