  1. They finished in the top 10 in Division one and had the best defensive record in Spain that season. Getafe around that time were actually a solid mid-table side who were tough to play against, they even eliminated Barcelona in the same tie Messi scored that goal in. In fact, before last season they had been in the top flight for around 13 seasons consecutive. While on the subject, that's quite impressive really for a club that was only founded in the 80s, especially when you consider that they have to compete against far bigger clubs in Madrid in Real and Atletico. As for favourite Messi goal, it's probably still this:-
  2. I like Adams myself and would always wish him the best but I still don't understand why clubs in Spain would want to bring in English managers/coaches, when there are better options out there. Why did Valencia get Neville and not just give Voro a chance originally? Why did Real Sociedad go in for Moyes when Eusebio was clearly the far more suitable option? Granada are a mess either way and nobody will save them this season.
  3. I don't get why any Spanish club, whatever league position they are in would go in for an English manager. Not even English clubs want them and Spain has a lot of talented coaches who would also demand less money.
  4. Why start with Andre Gomes in midfield, Mathieu in central defence and Mascherano at right back? Masch should have played as a centre back with Sergi Roberto at right back. Raktic, who has rediscovered his best form lately, should be starting and the only change I can understand is Iniesta as there is a big game against Juventus midweek and he can only play so many minutes per week now. But even then, I think he can play a lot more than the minutes he's getting lately and him starting doesn't necessarily mean he has to play the full 90. Gomes and Mathieu are terrible and the team lose more than win when those 2 start. I don't understand Enrique's rotation policy at all and it gets worse. He's pretty much thrown the league away whenever he's had chance to capitalise this season.

We've already had summer up north unfortunately. Those 3/4 days of sun last week were a miracle and probably the only sun we are likely to see this year.

I feel it lately haha. It's due to getting up extra early everyday, it starts to take its toll. It's not a bad thing getting up at 5:00 on a saturday though bro as that's when the fish are feeding. We have all moved here mate as the old forum was full of bugs, never updated, the new owner was a cock who didn't have passion for the forum, so the likes of Rab and Harvey created a new forum. It has all the same members on here, so it's as if TFF hasn't gone anywhere, we've just had a fresh start. Welcome back either way bud and hope you stick around.
  8. Ye once I've gotten through the campaign I will start having a bash online I think I like the look of Ghost Recon Wildlands as well. That's definitely a game I need to purchase at somepoint
  9. I just recently finished the campaign on that about 3 week ago or so(well I still have a boss to beat as I was struggling with the last one, but I will go back and smash it at somepoint) and I enjoyed it. There was nothing technical about it, but It takes you back to your childhood of playing on arcade shooter games. It was addictive for a while and well worth the 15 quid or whatever it was that I paid for it. There is still more I can do on it as well if I want to go back to it at some point. Battlefield 1 is the game I'm playing at the moment.
  10. What do you think of Big Pun's son, Chris Rivers, Erick? 4:38 He absolutely smashes it on that. The rest of them are pretty average though for me, but he smashes it. Beast.
  11. Jadakiss kills it on that as well. Very underrated.
  12. That instrumental is ridiculous. Snowgoons make the best beats these days by far.
  13. Sampaoli being at Sevilla offers more competition oh the other hand, so in that sense it works out better. I'm honestly not sure about Valverde though and believe he could have done more than he has at Athletic(he's done well, just could have done a bit more for me), especially in the Europa league. Then again, he would have far more resources at Barcelona and more money to spend on areas he needs to strengthen. The downside to Athletic is that you're limited in who you can sign. He also believes in youth, likes to utilise them and his style of play is suited to Barcelona.
  14. I've been avidly watching Barcelona's games now for god knows how many years and never seen anything like that. There have been some incredible last minute goals and moments that I have witnessed such as Rivaldo vs Valencia to tie up 4th place or the goal by Iniesta vs Chelsea in 2009, these are always moments that stand out above the rest. But the Sergi Roberto's last minute goal could well top that when looking back in the future, mainly due to the remarkable comeback(well 2 comebacks technically) prior to the goal, which looked utterly impossible and I doubt I will witness anything equal again in the Champions league knock out stages. It's got to be noted that PSG spend a ridiculous amount of money and are a team who are absolutely full to the brim of quality, so it's not like it was a simple a case of coming back against an average side after a howler of a first leg. In the first leg, it wasn't just a case of the away team being poor, but the home team playing marvellously well and showing their true quality. This was a strong opponent that Barça needed to score 5(well 6 in the end) against and to score 3 of those when there is 87 minutes gone off the clock seems unreal. You were having to pinch yourself to see if it hurt. At 3-0, it looked certain, but once Cavani scored, that certainty became practically zero. Ter Stegen was an unsung hero. He made a few vital saves, but what stood out for me was when he came up for the corner late on, then decided to stay up there. He caused all types of problems for the opposition by doing this, he weren't just a keeper coming up to try and grab a late goal, but he actually had a presence and it played a massive part in the winning goal if you watch him carefully. What a keeper he is becoming in general. He's certainly grown this year after a shaky start to the season and he can only get even better with age. He makes mistakes, but all young keepers do at his age when they are still developing and gaining experience. You can't beat German keepers and Barcelona are in safe hands for potentially another ten years with him between the sticks. On another note, Sergi Roberto has been the most heavily criticised player this season, so for him to be the one to grab the winning goal is great for the lad. The fact is, he's been played out of position for so long but if he played in midfield he would probably excel more in my opinion. I'd like to see him tried out more there, although it's difficult at the moment given that there is no other man to play at right back at all since the injury of Vidal. Speaking of the midfield, I think Rafinha is currently doing an excellent job and you can see why Enrique is starting to favour playing him a lot. What can you say about Neymar? He's been class since he joined the club, although one thing lacking from his arsenal was him stepping up and making games like this his own. He's starting to show a lot of maturity to his game now and isn't just about his talent. If there is one thing you could be critical of him this season, it's the fact that despite being an absolute menace with his dribbling and showboating skills, his final product and decision making at the end of it had been poor, although it has been the total opposite recently, he's getting everything right again and with his new levels of maturity this now makes him one of the outright best and most dangerous players in the game currently. A great free-kick, a well taken penalty where he showed zero signs of nervousness, then to play a perfectly timed and weighed ball in like that with your weak foot rather than just hoof it into the box like 99% of players would in that position, really summed up the night he was having and the talent he possess. The team would have had a great go at making a comeback without the Brazilian's presence, although on the night, it wouldn't have been possible to actually achieve it without Neymar stepping up his game like he did. He was the decisive factor when it came to the crunch in the "second" comeback. Busquets(who was man of the match until the 87th minute, where you'd then have to go on and give the torch to Neymar) and Rakitic regaining their form has also helped the cause ten-fold in recent games. It's those 2 being at their ultimate best that has been lacking all season as starting Gomes just doesn't work. Umtiti doesn't stop improving at the back either, it's just his injury problems that are a potential worry for the future. No player could really be criticised on the night as everyone worked hard and it wasn't necessarily just about outplaying the opponent(I've seen better performances by the team from a pure footballing perspective) but a lot of heart and determination on show. A never give up attitude and the players had the belief from kick off until the final whistle. The defenders were helping the attack, the attack were helping in defence(when needed) and nobody was reluctant to sacrifice themselves whenever required to. As for the decisions. The first pen was fair, the one on Di Maria was debatable and the winning goal was nowhere near offside, although the second pen was definitely a dive by Luis Suarez. By the way, I hope it's Dortmund in the next round as it's a fixture I've wanted to see for years. Due to how Dortmund play, I think it would make for an enthralling 2 games and is something different.
  15. This thread has got to be brought back as it was one of the better one's on the old site(when at its most active) and it doesn't seem like a music section without it. I'll start it off with this new banger:- Meth's verse is class.

I think I've got leptospirosis or something. I started coming down with something on Sunday and thought it was just a cold but yesterday and the day before at work were absolute hell so I've decided to fuck it off today and have the day off. Or maybe I'm just exaggerating and have probably just caught a bug going around.
  18. Playing for Real Madrid who are full of some of the world's best is what makes the main difference. If he played for Sevilla then he's not going to find it as easy in this regard. To be fair, I don't think Bale's had it "easy" anyway. I've seen him struggle in loads of games.
  19. This thread worked on the other forum to speak about the smaller things which may not get much attention if created as a thread of their own. So it's worth a try here as well I think.
