Whether it's Gordon Ramsay himself or the people who edit his shows in order to market him that way, it's the absolute lowest form of 'entertainment'. Engineered yelling and swearing in situations that absolutely don't require it, can't believe enough people continue to watch it to enable him to make a career out of it.
  2. So what's wrong with City doing that? Why don't they spend £10-15m trying to find and develop the next Dele Alli or the next John Stones instead of paying six times that for players who are established but never in a million years worth that money.
  3. Man City will literally pay £50m for a rotation player and it's their own fault for spending that much on players that aren't worth it in the past. Don't tell me that "today's market" is responsible for prices like this. The value is still out there, I've made this argument in other threads about Spurs (who finished ahead of City this season lest we forget) signing most of their first team for less than £20m. It's not the market, it's a question of whether clubs are stupid enough to pay triple the actual necessary fee because they can and or they're too lazy to find a viable alternative who might just need slightly longer to develop into a top class player for £20m instead of £60m. Absolute embarrassment the lengths City and similar clubs will go to to get their man.

Hamou what a daft twat. Hoping for a miracle from Muzza to win the French but if he plays well it's not out of the question. Been six months since he's been at his best though.

I must be a madman because I actually love steak however it comes barring the extremes. Can't handle it burnt black or bathing in blood.
  6. Nobody can prove whether or not Ferrari did it on purpose but if you know anything about F1 and particularly Ferrari's history with team orders, it's the absolute height of naivety to treat the possibility as if its laughable or some sort of media conspiracy. It's not like the race has given us much else to talk about. Some absolute duds so far this season unfortunately.
  7. Alonso's Honda engine blows up in the Indy 500 when he's in contention for victory, unbelievable.

I've put a little bet on both Nadal and Muguruza to win the singles. Dominic Thiem is the real one to watch and could have a big tournament if Murray and Djokovic carry on as poor as they have.
  9. Depends if that's the asking price. I expect it might be in that region, maybe a bit less than 70m but yeah, fair enough.
  10. Costa is a great goalscorer but, for all the baggage, isn't all that. I genuinely think you'd be better off with Lukaku, who is absolutely too full of himself and unproven at the top level, and goes missing in matches where the side aren't on top, but in a Chelsea side dominating 9 matches out of 10 would absolutely fill his boots.
  11. Stroll has been a massive disappointment so far. A good start in F1 is everything and I genuinely believe careers of these young drivers can be swung on whether they get a top 10 finish in their first 2-3 races or whether they have a couple of crashes.
  12. How has Atsu actually done for you lot this season? Was absolute shite when we had him on loan but then again Martinez never seemed to want to give him a proper chance.
  13. Sorry if this belongs in Transfer Rumours thread... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39999869 Wayne Rooney states that the only English club he'd consider moving to is Everton. Would still take him back on a short contract at a reasonable wage.
  14. Season Seven Trailer = Potential Spoilers: EDIT: I can't be the first person to notice the spelling mistake in the thread title?
  15. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11670/10884692/arsenal-shareholder-alisher-usmanov-makes-bid-for-full-control-of-club This could be big news.
  16. I still don't see it. There's too much money in football, too many clubs desperate to buy the right new player at almost any cost, and not enough common sense or patience. When managers get sacked for finishing 3rd when they should have won the league, there is no time for "well let's just wait it out for another year and get him at a sensible price next summer" because 90% of the time someone else will buy the player and the other 10% of the time if your results aren't perfect, not signing the player will be hung over your head. I'd say there's absolutely zero chance that Lukaku leaves on a free in two years' time. Zero chance.
  17. If Chelsea don't then some daft cunts like PSG will. I'm not arguing for a second that Lukaku is worth £70 million but anyone who thinks that nobody will pay that price for a striker who has scored a lot of goals, tends to score "Match of the Day" goals, and constantly talks himself up in the media (see Pogba) is naive, and that's putting it lightly. If not £70 million then you're looking at £60 million. Is he worth that much? No. Is anyone worth that much? Maybe Messi/Ronaldo. Is that just the way things are in football these days though? Yes, sadly it is. Lukaku will go for stupid money that he's not worth and he'll go this summer. If nobody will pay it then he'll just leave in January for £45 million or next summer for £30-35 million.
  18. Still confused and bothered by this. Should have been done, new contract is the best deal for the player and the club, it's a no brainer. If this goes tits up and Barkley ends up going elsewhere and being a success while we fail to replace him the pitchforks will be out for the board again.
  19. As usual, unsure on the new kit but always takes some getting used to and I'm sure I'll get to like it.
  20. Mirallas has signed an extension keeping him around until 2020. Still too inconsistent to be a first choice for me but happy that he can stick around anyway. Slightly surprised by this though as I never got the impression Koeman was a big fan of his.
  21. Coleman has signed a 5 year contract today. I'm glad but it means he better fucking had come back strong from this injury!
