I'd actually tend to trust neither side in a war. Unfortunately independant unbiased reports are hard to get.
-
You mean like the pictures the US provided to to prove their attack on Iraq were justified, since the Iraq had biological and chemical warfare?
-
The original tweet is from doctors without borders. Are you claiming them would do Hamas propaganda? Them an worldwide NGO known for their independance and neutrality?
-
As is the death of the quadriplegic patient the IDF snipper shoot in the neck? Mesmerizing how a war party you have sided with can't commit any war crimes regardless what they do.

Is this a jurist trying to lecture an old historian about old history?
-
Except Gaulish were far from being barbarians in the sense you use it here. Mostly the same rights with the important exception that they were alloweed to be crucified and could be enslaved.
-
Don't know were that's from but it's outright wrong. Gaul would have been given the status of a province but, no Roman citizenship. Not even people in the Italian provinces, like eg Etrurians, had Roman citizenship automatically. By the way, Rome invaded Gaul unprovoced. Also Gaul didn't flourish under Rome, but a region that was very rich beforehand, which is the reason Romans invaded it uppermost, has been melked ruthlessly. Oh, while you claim to be a jurist I studied old history at university.
-
Again a very ideosyncratic take of history. Edit: You mean eg the denominational parity in the Arab country Lebanon? And that's not even taking into account that numerous Arabs are Christians themselfes.
-
I know, it's no consolation. Still condolences!

German Football - General Talk
Rucksackfranzose replied to nudge's topic in German Football Forum - Bundesliga
Landesverband Sachsen-Anhalt (one of 21 DFB regional associations) have banned Kreisoberliga (9th tier) club Eintracht Gladau from association membership, and so automatically from their league for right-wing extremist activities. Although Eintracht Gladau is the second club, who experienced that sanction Sachsen-Anhalt are the only regional association that practiced this method, so far. Ostelbien Dornburg the other club that were excluded from the leagues for right-wing extremism were also from there. -
Didn't watch the trailer, will do it later. If this is as good as the series from the 80's it's worth watching.

@Dr. Gonzo will be delighted. Iran have now the chairmanship of the "UN Human Rights Council Social Forum". Not sure whether I should laugh, or the time for protest and armed resistance against the United Nations has come.

Well how to put it. Granted nobody predicted Mainz and Heidenheim would win against Leipzig and Stuttgart, thus 2 matches resulted in 0 points for all players. Still, although we had matchdays with similar meagre results, a top score of 6 points remains a paltry group effort. Matchday 10 1) 6666 6 points 1) CaaC(John) 6 points 3) Coma 5 points 3) Michael 5 points 3) Rucksackfranzose 5 points 3) Stan 5 points 3) Tommy 5 points 8- Bluewolf 4 points 9) nawoo 2 points 9) Viva la FCB 2 points Three players changed their position 6666 went up from 7th to shared 6th and John and nawoo changed their spots. Otherwise the table stayed the same Table after 10 matchdays 1) @Tommy 83 points 2) @Coma 74 points 3) @Stan 73 points 4) @Michael 72 points 5) @Viva la FCB 69 points 6) @6666 63 points 6) @Bluewolf 63 points 8- Rucksackfranzose 60 points 9) @CaaC (John) 57 points 10) @nawoo 55 points

DFB-Pokal 2023/24
Rucksackfranzose replied to londonerlilie's topic in German Football Forum - Bundesliga
This are the round of 16 matches: Stuttgart - Dortmund Saarbrücken - Frankfurt Gladbach - Wolfsburg Hertha BSC - Hamburg Homburg - St Pauli Leverkusen - Paderborn Lautern - Nürnberg Magdeburg - Düsseldorf Delighted there are to games between Buli clubs. Good chance for clubs of other leagues to reach the semis, since it will be only 4 Buli clubs at the quarters, at most.- 112 replies

Almost tempted to flirt with a Saarland-Pokal loss to Herrensohr after that comment, although I expressly support your request on principle.

DFB-Pokal 2023/24
Rucksackfranzose replied to londonerlilie's topic in German Football Forum - Bundesliga
6 Buli, 10 2.Liga, 1 3.Liga , and 1 RL club. Last time only 6 Buli clubs reached the round of 16 was 92/93. On a side note, 13 of 16 Bundesländer have less teams still in the competition than the Saarland.- 112 replies

DFB-Pokal 2023/24
Rucksackfranzose replied to londonerlilie's topic in German Football Forum - Bundesliga
Thank you all! That's a result I surely didn't expect before the match. The most surprising part is the win wasn't completely undeserved the way the match went. Of corse Bayern were the dominant team, stil Saarbrücken defended well, so Bayern hadn't that many opportunities to score I felt. Am aware I'm biased, however.- 112 replies

Think this explanation, war as a religious struggle, falls a bit short. Although some of the issues might be religion-induced, I'd be stupefied, if the marginalasation of Palestinians, and remarkable gap in standard of living between both nationalities would not massively contribute to the tensions. Although, I'm looking at this conflict from afar, this problems appear to have more social and ethnical roots to me than being a modern day religious crusade. In this regard, can see some similarities to the issues Northern Ireland had until the Good Friday Agreement and might be still having virulently.
