  1. I should really start learning Khmer, but damn it's a weird language...
  2. Cool! How did you like it in Hungary? I was considering it a while ago too, together with Czech Republic.
  3. Where in Eastern Europe did you live? I'm weird, I don't get Heimweh at all.
  4. I'm actually in Cambodia, hehe. I prefer SE Asia to the rest of the world, so ideally I intend to stay here for as long as I can, but there are a lot of countries I'd consider if I had to (actually considered moving to Panama, Malta or Georgia (country, not the US State) a while ago, but decided to stay here for the time being). I'm very flexible and don't particularly care, so no idea where I might end up haha.
  5. hey, when you come from Lithuania in the early to mid 90s, Milwaukee seems like paradise, I think No, things are not that great in LT. It used to be pretty cool in 2000-2007 when the economy was growing fast, but it's not very rosy these days. Cost of living is rather high while the salaries are still low, emigration rate is immense, we lost over 15% of our population in the last 10-12 years. Working-age population is declining, social security system will inevitably collapse in the (near) future. Corruption and bureaucracy are still a problem.
  6. Two of my cousins actually live in the US. Their family won the green card and moved to Milwaukee some 20 years ago, they were living in Chicago later I think, maybe still are.
  7. Not necessarily, knowing a Lithuanian is not particularly surprising as we're spread all over the world like a bunch of gypsies, haha.
  8. It's two completely different languages (Lithuanian is Baltic, Russian is Slavic), if you could understand parts of it that was probably Russian swear words as Lithuanians like using those
  9. You evil you, ruining people's days like that!

I'm extremely into seafood, so my favourite Thai is still Tom Yum Kung, it's a masterpiece... Not that much into Chinese, but I love the local Chinese seafood restaurant, they offer brilliant crabs, fish, clams and mussels. Also Peking duck is always nice when prepared properly!

Yes, a ot of Thai dishes uses coconut milk, especially curries. The key to Thai cuisine is balancing the five major tastes by combining various spices, herbs, sauces and pastes, so the flavour is very complex and rich. Lemongrass, kaffir lime, galangal, coriander, fish sauce, palm sugar, shrimp paste, chili peppers, garlic and basil are the essential ingredients. What's Cuban food? Never had any!

Messing up a lot of people's stomachs? Wow, never heard that one about Thai food! Seriously, give it a go. For me, Thai cuisine is one of the best in the world.

Hey, I cooked a lot of unauthentic Thai curries in the past, they still were great! Try adding some fish sauce and palm sugar as it helps to balance the taste and make it more authentic, hehe. Also, kaffir lime makes a big difference!

What kind of Thai curry? I barely cook these days anymore, mostly because it's actually cheaper to dine out here.

Aw, sorry to hear that Lucas... But it's not the end of the world, have a beer and move on!
  17. Ah, so that axe incident in Düsseldorf a few days ago was just you looking for Thomas?...
  18. It's not an American thing, I actually laughed at the flag being there too - even if it is expected. EU and LGBT support movement kinda goes hand in hand.
  19. It's a rally of EU supporters in Germany asking the Dutch to stay in the EU.
  20. Tell me about it; I have some friends visiting for over a week, and it's been a weird week trying to combine beer, whisky, work and fun. I haven't slept more than 4-5 hours each night since last Wednesday. Also tried eating frog for the first time.
  21. There are still hundreds of millions of UXOs around the world, including Europe, where hundreds or thousands tons are being uncovered each year, it's madness. It's even worse in Cambodia or Laos, you still can come across the landmines/uxo warning signs in rural areas.
  22. That could well mean the end of his career as well... Hopefully both Bargfrede and Delaney will be fit for Leverkusen.
