It's so low as to make it barely worth considering. Unless he has some condition we are not aware of? . -
They have absolutely no idea how many people have had this disease, never have and never will. Many people don't even show antibodies if they've had similar infections before, that's without taking into consideration how inept and useless the whole testing process is. The country is paralysed by something we are not able to rationally assess.

Is it? The chances of anyone under 60 not recovering from COVID19 within 2 weeks are extremely low, and that's just for your average joe. I imagine for elite athletes it's even lower. -

Be interesting to see the impact of yesterday on Liverpool. Psychologically conceding 7 goals has to knock confidence. Champions have of course been spanked before, I remember Manchester United getting a couple of 5-0 pastings and still winning the league but will this prove a bigger hurdle? I imagine Klopp is probably the best manager to overcome it, he'll point to the abundance of goals everywhere, several deflections etc but it'll take some good management to coax the confidence back into Liverpool's defence, especially with an error prone goalkeeper behind them. -
If he comes through this fine, which is statistically still very likely, then be prepared for 'it's just a flu' theories to go into overdrive.

Is Mount an automatic pick now? He's had a terrible start to the season. Not saying he's not got potential to be top class but he should being taken out of the team. -
Liverpool now put into a local lockdown, where our arbitrary and reckless government can now fine you for seeing family members. The precarious nature of the economy, which relies so heavily on hospitality, will probably tip over now. I cannot believe what is going on anymore.

Fair play. that's quite funny. -
So for North Wales, neighbouring Wirral and Liverpool are not fully lockedown. So I can go to Snowdonia but they can't. The government have also banned singing and dancing in pubs. I think people are starting to realise the absurdity of all this now. People are not going to accept being banned from seeing family members anymore and who can blame them.

You might be ok, some research suggests that if you've been previously badly hit by colds then you might have more immunity to this virus, as structurally they are very similar.

Do you think he should get some hair replacement surgery? He’s too bald. -
The demonisation of our young people continues apace, told to go back to University for their 'education' when it was clearly just about ensuring the rent was paid to landlords etc. Young people should boycott Universities across the country, refuse to pay rent and tuition fees.

Been playing it all week, what a song. Didn't mind Liverpool winning the league when it was winding up Tory southerners and Mancs, but need Everton to step up now.

Is Alex Morgan injured or something? Could do with her on the pitch, this game has been dreadful.

If Trump gets the vaccine, is that him in office again? Not that he is any way responsible but the USA would be seen as heroic across the world, potentially.

Horrible circumstance, not that it's much comfort but a friend of mine who suffers awfully from asthma tested positive and didn't even know he had had it. I hope you manage to avoid it anyhow. There are some murmurings within the British press about how we go forward, the idea of an all solving vaccine seems to be slowly dying. I did think it odd that people thought there would be one that would wipe out a disease which is structurally similar to the omnipresent cold. We will be living with this virus, not killing it.
-
Probably better if you've had it and are ok, isn't it? I'd be happier knowing it's passed through me than waiting to get it, and they reckon 80% of humans will get it at some point. Having said that, they haven't a clue who has or who hasn't had it here. False positive/false negatives, the majority of people don't have symptoms etc. The likely number of people who had this virus is going to be so much higher than the recorded cases it makes any analysis almost impossible.

UK Politics & Brexit Discussion

Funding is only part of the issue, there has been a fundamental change in how our policing is done. There were actually far less police in the days of them on the beat. Now they’re all in cars, aloof and unknown to anyone. People will frame that as a change in response to how crime has evolved but I would suggest it is the opposite, crime evolves where it sees opportunity. The police are an impotent force now, focussed on stats. They are no longer a part of the community and this is a direct result of the way our country is governed. -

The Police are excellent when it comes to protecting property, that’s what they were setup to do. Not so good when it comes to protecting people, particularly at the end of the social scale. I don’t know what the ‘defund the police’ slogan even means, sounds like Anarchist twaddle to me. However, it’s fairly clear the police is pretty much broken here too. There should be a local policeman who patrols, on foot, every few streets or so. Community policing is pretty much dead now, the police are an alien presence among us who come into to deal with the aftermath of crime but do very little to prevent it. -

Johnson is no outlier, he is typical of what the Conservative party was set up to do, protect a certain class of people and their interests. The big problem is that this has now combined with radical free market ideology and we have a hybrid of old fashioned Toryism and rapacious businessmen. As far as I can tell Johnson is pretty unideological, he’s just the epitome of an over privileged ponce who believes he deserves power. This is perhaps more dangerous that having someone like Gove (a genuine zealot) at the helm because he can shield the real drivers from the sunlight and we become some tax haven republic with no rights. -
I’m not sure what it’s like where you are but round here many of the bigger bars are staying open till 3am-5am like they would do normally. These are places where people go at the end of the night when they’re fucked, social distancing non existent. I imagine that’s why the curfew is brought in, rather than pubs specifically. There is actually barely any evidence that pubs are a major source of transmission, they’ve been open 3 months and it’s only now cases have taken off.

Pretty sure he’s mentioned his age as around that before.

Maybe everyone should use the stairs? Nobody without a disability should use a lift imo. One of the big reasons that Covid is hitting us badly, which nobody seems willing to talk about, is because we are such an unhealthy nation.

You’ve not mentioned that for shankly and paisley many of those games were 2 points for a win. Klopp will go down as great but he will sit alongside those two, not above -
Pubs are the best thing about English culture, imo. And I mean pubs, not bars/clubs.
