  1. Yeah, sorry. I wasn't meaning to belittle your obviously very real concern. Just more the British press with headlines like 'KILLER VIRUS HEADING TO UK' do not help matters and are just preying on people's concerns. The amount of people effected so quickly is a concern but still a fairly low death number of 17, it may well prove to be highly infectious but not so deadly. Hopefully.
  2. I'm in Soho at the weekend, Chinese New Year? OMG JAMES BOND'S GOING TO DIE!
  3. Then they still have a very minimal chance of being effected. It's just the usual hysterical tabloid reaction.
  4. Be funny if we all die by January 31st, so we're still in the EU when we become extinct.
  5. Why? It's affecting what, 0.0001% of the population? Even in those it does it's mostly a cough and a sniffle, it is dangerous for the elderly and young, like any flu. Anyway, we're due a massive pandemic. Possibly wipe us all out? Be good for every other living thing.
  6. Manchester City fans protested against it with pre made signs pitiful bitterness.
  7. While I'm in favour of VAR, I do think there is an argument about the 'spirit of the game' when it comes to the most minimal of offsides. But ultimately, it is offside.
  8. Arrogant Europeans moaned then and they're still moaning now.
  9. So it's pretty clear that the Council won't be giving out any loans for the stadium now, which is something of a relief in these austere times. Usmanov has paid 30mill just for first dibs on naming rights, pretty likely he's going to be funding this I'd say.
  10. Really? They have always been a tempestuous club, highly prone to emotional changes and bust ups. They had 10 managers in the 1980s, it was only really Cruyff's management that brought any sense of stability and made them into the huge club they are, before then they really weren't regarded as one of the great European clubs. Other than that it's only Guardiola who's had any sustained period of success without falling foul of the Barcelona establishment. Incredibly similar to Real Madrid in terms of how they behave.
  11. Of all the ignorant, misinformed, stupid shite that gets posted on this forum, this post is right up there.
  12. I doubt it actually. If Boris Johnson has even the slightest political nouse he will know how deeply unpopular Trump is among the general population. Also how unpopular any military involvement would be. He's just won a big majority of seats he won't want to plunge into anything like this so soon.
  13. In fairness, it's every 'great power' foreign policy. Throughout history the ones with power have manipulated, deceived and betrayed supposed allies when they saw fit. It's the way of the world. The UK just needs to keep its beak out, we are no longer an important power and just need to accept retirement. Hopefully meaning none of our young men needlessly dying.
  14. That's when they lose, which they don't do anymore.
  15. Klopp bleating about the amount of games, again. I like him but he's got to realise that football is so deeply ingrained in British culture over the festive period that it won't change, we have a winter break at the end of the month, be happy with that. He keeps talking about the fans etc, football is entertainment and these are highly paid professional athletes, it's one of very small sacrifices they make to be able to command such exorbitant wages. I wish he'd give it a rest on this.
  16. Well we are all biased, aren't we, by our views aren't we? I do have a good friend who votes Conservative, we disagree massively but I believe he has good intentions. You seem to only want the tories to win because it is upsets other people.
  17. Tbf it is actually a friendly game hut I thought the super cup was too. Only ones thst matter are leagues, European cups and fa cup.
  18. Charity shield taken off that then? Don't get me wrong it's a a shit trophy but I assume it's only discounted because Manchester United would have more trophies with that added?
  19. Not sure you can generalise your own experience. I am working class, nearly all my closet friends are, differing levels of income, property, relationship etc but none voted tory and don't see much positive that they offer. Its about values and worldview, obviously mine are very different to yours. 'politics of envy' is nonsense. Just as 'politics of selfishness' is.
  20. The Zac Goldsmith peerage really is hilarious, an absolute failure as a politician and someone who once railed against the unelected Lords, now given a cushy job by Johnson. This is a cross party issue, Labour and the Tories play the Lords game, trying to stack it with people to give them an extra advantage, it is anti democratic and a disgrace that these people sponge a living. Extra irony considering the whole Brexit debate has been centred around 'democracy' and 'unelected officials'.
  21. Both Arsenal and Everton are taking a while to gets things over the line, I imagine a lot of it is legal wrangling and who gets paid what. Like everything in life.
  22. Risk, but why not? Arsenal will have to be very patient though, he's learning the ropes on the job.
