But Rebels... I visited the Clone Wars series and despite some crappy filler (particularly early in the series) what a truly fantastic 4-episode finale. SW at its finest. With the bonus of vastly enriching (together with the more general kaminoan conspiracy plot) the Revenge of the Sith movie.

  3. In terms of providing additional 'hope', there is also suggestion/speculation that having passed common colds caused by certain coronaviruses different from SARS-CoV-2 may offer partial immunity to some extent as it has been reported the existence of SARS-CoV-2-reactive CD4+ T cells among individuals not exposed to COVID-19. https://www.cell.com/cell/fulltext/S0092-8674(20)30610-3
  4. Is Boris going to compromise with ERG in terms of conditions of lockdown in a trade-off with the stance with negotiations with EU or he does not need that given favourable parliamentary arithmetic?

  7. In general, the family of Coronaviruses mutate/evolve slower than influenza. That said SARS-CoV-2 is new, we don't fully know it and we can only assume it is going to behave following that pattern. It seems to be somewhat better at propagating than common influenza (2x?), which is no slouch in that regard. There is no immunity. Vaccines and antivirals do not work with SARS-CoV-2 (if laboratories had kept onto researching on the 2003 SARS virus and produced a vaccine the latter MAY have worked to some extent, but as it was the epidemic was contained investigation stopped, sad). So we've got to wait for a vaccine for quite a bit of time. The death rate is reportedly between 4 and 50 times higher, but we need to take this with a grain of salt as the amount of unreported cases (many of them asymptomatic) may be huge (thus considerably lowering the death rate, possibly one order of magnitude). Hopefully after one, two or three infections, immunity can be acquired passively, and although becoming endemic, the virus may turn to only affect children in a very mild way until they acquire immunity to the virus (and hopefully to similar viruses from the same family).
  8. Up to this point the current dengue outbreak looks more worrying in Peru than the coronavirus one.
  9. If we apply Ockham's razor it looks to be bogus. Many people in contact with many different species of living animals (in turn also in contact between them) already makes a strong case for a zoonotic explanation, currents doubts about if it is a snake a bat or whatever notwithstanding.
  10. Crazy idea! How could Xavi leave Qatar for the prospect of working in an authoritarian regime?

    Star Wars

I enjoyed the movie. In comparison The Last Jedi actually annoyed me at so many levels... I cannot see any way to successfully bring to an end the vision of Rian Johnson set in TLJ. No matter how "courageous" it is deemed to be by critics, it made no sense at all and it was going nowhere plot-wise. Fortunately the plot of RoS feels like a retcon of the former (implied by C3PO's memory prowess). Certainly not perfect, but the most entertaining film of the Disney trilogy.

  15. She is so full of herself, isn't she? She rejoices at all the wrong things. If this is a winning discourse, the outbidding dynamics between Tories and UKIP/BrexitParty has tilted the UK strongly towards a political landscape where only far right nativism can be competitive.
  16. Cancelling A50 and starting negotiations again would be clearly seen as a case of perversion of rules by the EU and EU member states. Surely, the EU would offer the May Deal and refuse to engage into any new negotiation.
