I don't think his reaction will be initially that big if he returns on a Raw before WrestleMania. If his first appearance is on WrestleMania or the Raw directly after WrestleMania then he'd get a bigger reaction as there will be more fans that are more aware of wrestling outside WWE. I'm sure there will be a lot of AEW chants. In terms of if he gets buried or not, it depends on if he can connect with the crowd or not. He'll have the spotlight on him at first but if he doesn't deliver, he'll just be another guy.

Ukrainians potential being killed is obviously worse but that doesn't mean you have to be okay with Russian athletes being punished for being Russian. Some may mention that more but that's because there isn't really a need for a discussion to know this war is brutal and shouldn't be happening. Do you think because war is worse that xenophobia against Russians is not only fine but should be encouraged? I'm giving you a chance to say no because that's a pretty horrible conclusion to come to, but for some people, that's where all the evidence points.

So that proves that any potential buyer from a non-western country must also be negatively involved with their government...? Huh? These people might turn out to be dodgy but you can't go "guilty until proven innocent" on people from countries you don't like. And Roman might be a prick but him being targeted for this war still isn't something that I'd say makes sense. No doubt he is a dodgy bastard but all of that was seemingly fine a few weeks ago. This is just down to him being Russian rather than him having any deep links to this war happening. If he was any other nationality right now, it'd be business as usual. I do wonder though, with people supposedly mad that he acquired his wealth in a questionable manner if the football authorities will strip Chelsea of the trophies they won under him. Although, if they haven't done it by now, they're probably unlikely to do it.

Was supposed to just be a routine hip surgery from what I've read. Not an expert on the subject but shocking that it could go from that to three heart attacks, having to be put on life support, and then eventually needing to have that life support turned off. RIP.

That sounds like both the left and the right in America to me...

There's being wary and then there's pouring all of their countries crimes on to them.

So when I now see this Saudi Arabian man I have to see him as being complicit to executions and everything else that's wrong with Saudi Arabia...? And that's not supposed to be xenophobic? People's paranoia and laziness when it comes to countries that aren't in our media that much, especially outside of politics, is pretty sad. That's not mental gymnastics either. That's just a case of not being a bigot.
-
Are you American/live in America? Because you seem to have turned this into an emotionally charged, tribal, left/right situation where it's all about "gotcha moments". This is why both Fox News and MSNBC seem like complete trash whenever I've seen clips.

Saudi Media Group are supposed to be separate from the government. Obviously we can argue about how separate they actually are but I don't think peddling conspiracy theories is productive... To be honest, not even sure what lesson is supposed to be learned from Abramovich. Still don't know what connection he has to this war happening other than him being Russian. This attitude of going after anyone from a country whose government is bad, isn't good in my opinion. This is supposedly a bid not backed by a government but you'll still see Mohammed Bin Salman's face being associated for no reason. Borderline xenophobic to be honest. I don't like it.

I think we should go full US media and call Waylander a secret Russian agent...
-
Saudi Media apparently in the running now. Don't know if this is a group independent from the Saudi government (although some would treat it as the same even if it was separate...) but a media group owning a football club seems like a weird situation to me. Like BT buying Bayern Munich.

He's not necessarily incorrect. Anyone trusting the sincerity of power hungry politicians is being extremely naive. It's bad guys vs. bad guys.

The Hardy Boyz as a tag team wouldn't do much for anyone to be honest. It'll just be a case of doing the same thing again but with them being older. Jeff Hardy/Darby is probably where most the interest will be as Darby is basically a young Jeff Hardy. The debut itself wasn't done that well in my opinion. The segment was kind of cringe and poorly acted. Jeff Hardy doing a dance when he's supposed to be running down to save Matt, who was getting slapped around, didn't look good. To be honest, Darby and Sting walking down slowly to save Matt wasn't great either. Jeff needs to do stuff away from Matt and Darby needs to cut ties with Sting as well. I know there's nothing they can actually do with Sting (which is why they shouldn't have given him a long contract) but this isn't it in my opinion.

When it comes to countries that people know a lot about, everything is kept separate. When it comes to countries people don't know a lot about, everything is connected.
-
Regardless of what their intentions are. Countries are more influenced into become more "progressive" and in tune with other countries from more social contact rather than from being cut off in my opinion. That's more to do with sporting events taking place than a country's foreign sporting investments but even with that, excluding them doesn't really achieve much. I also don't think people look the other way based on "sports washing". Most will separate the two and judge accordingly and some will just judge it all as bad. I've never come across anyone that has had the attitude of "this sporting event/investment makes up for everything". They don't exist. I also don't like the double standards in which it's applied. It's like if the Olympics were held in the US, that wouldn't be considered sports washing as the country's international politics is separate for anything else that goes on but if it were in China or Saudi, it would be considered sports washing. For me, I don't think people actually let sports affect how they see things politically and the term "sports washing" isn't applied consistently anyway. All the terrible political stuff should be covered and that's down to good reporting and should be independent from reporting on sports. If they're kept separate then you can't conflate the two. I prefer that attitude to conflating sports with politics and branding all as bad. That's not to say I'm happy about the ownership of Chelsea, PSG, Man City, or Newcastle (hell, I'm not even happy with our owners) but that's more from a sporting point of view than a political point of view.
-
To be honest, I don't think it does work. People just separate a country's crimes from anything else they're doing. They rarely justify the bad things. The bad things are bad and the things that aren't bad, aren't. To me, "sports washing" is a cringe term that only seems to be applied to non-western countries that people don't know much about so they act as if everything must be connected in some way. Saudi buying Newcastle is irrelevant outside of football and isn't that serious in the grand scheme of things. The media could cover Saudi bombing Yemen a lot more if they wanted to. Them buying Newcastle isn't relevant when it comes to that as the coverage wasn't great before they took over Newcastle. To be honest, journalists seem to talk about the crimes of a country more when "sports washing" is taking place. Maybe there should be more of it so that there's more coverage...
-
That's depressing but that's unfortunately how it is. Having any sort of power or serious say in international politics unfortunately means you either have to have an insane amount of money or people are scared you're gonna bomb them.

The Ukrainian FA to strip Tymoschuk of all his caps for Ukraine and all his trophies he won in Ukraine for not speaking out against the war while also being a part of Zenit's staff. Just me that thinks that it's a bit messed up to strip someone of their sporting accolades because they're not politically outspoken in your favour? Going after Russians that have nothing to do with the war was already bad enough in my opinion and starting a witch hunt against Ukrainians that aren't politically vocal is another example of the symbolic, PR side of this war just being poorly thought out.

The sad thing is that the hypocrisy isn't that difficult to see but people will still just go along with the narrative that's being provided by the media.
-
Russia, America, and China being the top three isn't surprising (although I'd have thought China would actually have a lot more). Any country that's desperate to be seen as the #1 superpower is going to have a government full of cunts and will have enough firepower to represent their cuntishness.
-
This is why I'm not in favour of going after any innocent Russians. It isn't right in my opinion but everyone has to make it look like they're joining in somehow. EA removed Russia and Russian teams from FIFA 22. This is going from being anti-war and anti-Putin to just being anti-Russia in whatever form Russia comes in.
-
Putin is nearly into his 70s. I can see him being reluctant to retreat and just might escalate things even further and go nuclear.
-
Most Liverpool fans are glory hunters to be honest. Same for every big club that gained their popularity through success.

People like to follow the narrative being provided by the media.
