  1. Casemiro has his flaws but there's no doubt he's essential for that team given the gaps and holes that can appear when Real Madrid lose the ball. He is however becoming increasingly more reckless in the tackle as time goes by and that puts me off him as a player. I think they could make good use of Marcos Llorente next season, he's much better technically than Casemiro and has the potential to become a big part of this Real Madrid team in the future. Modric, Kroos, Llorente, Isco all in the same team, that's class. I'd like to think they'd slowly integrate Llorente in next season as certain games suit Casemiro and others don't.
  2. Oh yeah he was. The game was already lost by then as we were 2-0 down with five minutes to go in one of the worst Chelsea performances I've seen from us in years.
  3. I worry about him sometimes during games but bans aside when playing (correct me if I'm wrong) he's never been sent off for us. He's a half a season man yes but his return is still good, Hazard got us through the second half of 2014/15, the first half of 2015/16 we were shit and this current season Hazard, Pedro and Fabregas have mainly got us through this second half, the goals and players have come from elsewhere. Not forgetting Costa was our player of the season until January and there are Atlético Madrid fans currently dying to get him back. For me if he can stay, and he himself is happy to do so (for one more season at least even), I think we're happy days, I don't see another striker that we've been linked with that suits our system as well as Costa does, hence it's not worth the money and effort bringing someone in. It is however important that we bring in another attacking player, we need someone of high level to join Hazard, Pedro and Willian. I couldn't think of a better signing for us than Sanchez, he would be a dream signing and he could operate up top as well as in behind, he has the perfect player profile for our system, unfortunately can't see it happening.
  4. I'm more than happy with Costa if he wants to be here, I think the 'baggage' part is overstated and it's easy for the media to play on the type of character he presents. His biggest problem is his technical ability which can worsen depending on what form he's in, if he's playing well and scoring goals his ability on the ball is not perfect (of course) but a lot better, it strikes me as mental thing with Diego to be honest. He also delivers a lot off the ball which can go unnoticed and it's a department he's much better in compared with some of the strikers we've been linked with. There's no way I'd want us going in for Lukaku for that sort of money.
  5. We can dream. Kante / Fabregas / Bakayoko / Chalobah Hazard / Pedro / Sanchez / Willian Costa / Sanchez / Bats
  6. Celta Vigo Very good season for them considering they have lost Orellana, Nolito and Augusto in recent times and given the resources they have. Looks like there's a lot of discontent at the moment towards Carlos Mourino which has escalated after the treatment of Berizzo, with Unzué being the likely favourite to replace him. Hopefully they can be innovative over the summer and strengthen the areas in their squad that need it and push on again next season but it's going to be difficult.
  7. Enjoyed this title win much more than the last, what a day.
  8. Looks like Berizzo could be taking over at Sevilla, it's going to be an interesting first summer for Oscar Arias. Under Sampaoli, they're a strange team to watch as their style can vary, sometimes they're playing at 100 miles per hour, the next they're playing at walking pace with Nasri and N'Zonzi dictating that and pulling the strings. It's well documented that most of their players dropped off this season and they definitely need signings and more depth to their squad for next season particularly in defence and in central midfield and they'll do well to keep a hold of N'Zonzi and Vitolo. It still remains to be seen whether they'll keep a hold of Jovetic as well who's been decent for them. I'm interested to see who they'll sign, seen a lot of Atlético Madrid fans saying they could have done with Kranevitter this season (which is perhaps true considering the lack of depth they've had in central midfield this season) but he hasn't really impressed too much for Sevilla, nor has Vietto for that matter either. Will be an interesting summer for Sevilla as always! Can safely say I'm more of a Betis man after living in Sevilla for two months.
  9. We don't seem to go too much over 30M these days, it would surprise me a lot if we spent 70M, the only way I could see it happen if we got a big chunk of money come in from elsewhere. I wouldn't be happy with spending that amount on Lukaku (or most players tbh) anyway and Everton will be tough negotiators (they have every right to be), like they were with us and John Stones. I say we play the long game with Lukaku, perhaps with his help we can catch him in the future in a summer where his contract is going to expire. I said when we sold him (which makes the quoted 70M even worse as well) that he'd be back with us at some point in the future, I'm pretty sure we could tempt him away from most clubs as well. I for one am more interested in what's going on in Costa's mind and I'd be more than happy to keep him for another season.
  10. Regardless of people's opinion of Costa in the second half of this season, if he does leave, he's going to be difficult to replace. His performances have improved recently but he's never performed consistently throughout a season for us yet, in 2014/15 it was the same only a bigger deal was made of it this season because of the China links, even last season he started playing well only when Hiddink came in. He'll be difficult to replace regardless, I like Lukaku because of his admiration for the club and hence there my heart is ruling over the decision but the money puts me off. As for Morata, I'd question whether he can be the main man for us throughout a season, I have doubts about his overall play and presence up top on his own. For me he's a good impact player or he does well playing up front as a second striker and there's always doubt there considering the managers he's worked for so far have yet to trust him with full responsibility in being the main striker throughout a season. Above all, I'd be happy with keeping Costa for another season if he's happy to do that. Regardless of what happens with Lukaku, I still feel we could get him down the line in the future if we really wanted to. Love this goal.
  11. Can only echo what others have said already, you'll love it. Went when I was younger (so perhaps wouldn't have appreciated the place as much as I would now) but still it was enough to hit me at the time, beautiful place.

    Off Topic

How was it mate? At our old Goals team I could have sworn the latest KO's were around 22:00 (maybe later). I'm the type that takes any kickabout seriously to be honest and would prefer to play with people who are the same, 3 of my best mates are the same which makes 2 on 2s very competitive which is something I prefer. Of course there's moments and times where we all meet up and it's just a laugh though at the same time. I like the competition but it takes a lot for me to lose my temper (in life in general to be honest as well). I'll have the odd pop at the referee but that's it and it's never over the top abuse anyway, it's just when I feel I need to remind him of something in the game. I can relate to people with referees at 5 a side as well, had experience with some who are similar to what Storts explained and they don't have enough control. In my experience being a previous referee it's best to snap out anything early on to get authority in the game and if done correctly you can then earn the respect of the players. We use to laugh at Goals that the referees even struggled with keeping the right scores, so it got to the point where we'd ask them constantly what the score was. I'd maintain the best thing you can do to a referee is be-friend them, shouting at them constantly can have some influence but not as much as people think and it can have the opposite effect as well in most cases. Anyone who was giving me constant stick on the sidelines, I'd constantly think I don't want to be seen as bowing to their pressure and most of all I don't particularly like this bloke either, so fuck him. Anyway I read a very good book recently and I'd recommend it loads for you football players.
  13. The back three seems to go to chaos when it's changed about and one player that hasn't impressed me at all playing there has been Kurt Zouma whose physical attributes (as it's been documented before) sometimes help hide his limitations as a defender. His injury came at the wrong time and the next two years are going to be interesting for him, for me he's still got a lot to improve on as a defender. Despite his weaknesses being still apparent, he was very good under Mourinho before his injury and he still has great potential. He must work on the tactical and discipline aspects of defending and also improve his ability on the ball (it's never too late). Maybe a loan spell could be good for him if we bring back/sign one or two defenders.
  14. I said when we re-signed him mate, he'd have the potential to be a great signing and he's never been as bad as people made out. I don't like how people say he couldn't play in a four man defence as the truth is he was our best centre back for the first two seasons in his first spell at Chelsea and in his last period/season of that spell he struggled in that position. Nevertheless, he was one of our best big game players in defensive midfield under Mourinho. Also not forgetting the Confederations Cup with Brazil in 2013 in which he was fantastic at centre back in a four man defence as well. Of course the system and management has helped him become a better player I'm not denying that, Luiz is at home in this system but it's worked wonders for every player and I think a part from Hazard and Matic every player has had a better season than the last title winning season. In all honesty, I think Luiz's form has dipped as the season has gone on and his biggest weakness is his eagerness to get to the ball which can catch him out at times, he needs to stand off a bit more. For the majority though, he's been fantastic and I say his form has dipped towards the end but I remember matches like Stoke away and Spurs in the semi final where he was an absolute man mountain. Above all, Luiz's season is a victory against those old school British defenders and players who are now pundits, 'clear your lines', 'a defender firstly must know how to defend', the likes of Neville, Dixon, Alan Hansen, Souness etc. Bobby Moore was the best defender this country has ever produced and he wasn't only an immaculate defender but a fantastic footballer as well.
  15. Happy Birthday Vedran mate! Hopefully you have even more reason to celebrate tonight.
  16. A good source of mine at the club says he was wanted by a Premier League club last season, good prospect. I'd like to see him in the Premier League playing regularly next season, for me there's no point staying within the Chelsea squad as I don't see Conte using him often enough. Same with RLC, Aina, Musonda etc.
  17. Credit to Poch and Spurs, nice team they're building there. Love the amount of English players they have playing regularly as well, wish I could say the same for us. Any Spaniard I talk to here in Sevilla, says they like Spurs.
  18. Interesting mate, although playing with higher intensity and pressing more doesn't have to result in giving away too many free kicks (not suggesting you're suggesting this by the way), it can be done correctly. I would like to see Matic play with more intensity and stop letting periods of the game pass him by. Kante mind has been giving away too many free kicks of late.
