Hope you had a good one @Any O'Brien

Yeah saw that, very sad.
He was the Crawley manager just last season - very highly rated coach it would seem. Shocking news, seems out of the blue as well.

Taylor rolling back the years by winning the World Matchplay earlier this year. Going to be weird when he retires in the next few months.
Semi Final of the Grand Slam next with Taylor and MVG should be good. Hoping for a Taylor win!
Did you see the Wright/Anderson game? Will take some game from Taylor & MVG to live up to that one!

My grandfather my idol passed away this morning unexpectedly. I'm shattered. I know we all go through this but in a week where I'm meant to commit my long term future to my job and department - it's just another reminder that life is short(that cliche) and incredibly unpredictable. Got me thinking.
So sorry to hear that mate - thinking of you my friend.

My sources tell me that a certain player has been sold, I can't say who as I don't want to be exposed as the mole. I've checked twitter and there isn't a single word of it.
Lets just say it's a sale that will be celebrated
Colback?
He was completely out of the squad on Sunday, great news if it turns out to be true.

Perez was decent today. However Hellas Verona were shit so impossible to read anything into it.
I do think we should have picked better opposition.

It's a shame what happened with those two, they both looked great when they first burst onto the scene but have sadly fallen into the footballing abyss.
Mitrovic has never been any good.
Perez is a good footballer, I think he'll turn into a very good player in a few years, probably still looking for his best position too.
-
Need bodies in this week desperately, some fans like Mitrovic, I'm not one of them. I do think there's a footballer in Perez but he needs a bit more nurturing yet, still a young lad.

2-0 now.
-
I wouldn't mind a new full-back either, not sure about either of them two.
I reckon there'll be another 3 or 4 to come in but we definitely need to be shifting some dead wood.

Merino joins on loan with obligatory £6m purchase if he plays a certain amount of games.
Samaris deal dead now.
I don't know anything about him but it's nice to see faces coming through the door.
Though if he happens to disappear off the face of the earth when he's getting close to that amount of games then we know why

€10m as well apparently. Hope not.
Is he not on a free?
-
Never seen him mentioned once.
-
£12.5mil deal agreed - a lot of money but if he's Rafa's man that's good enough for me.
Hopefully this is the start of a glut of signings.

Pretty anonymous. Didn't do anything wrong, didn't do anything good.
Perez looked lively, Gayle looked lively, Shelvey hit some good balls, Elliott made some good saves.
Mbemba was shite, Haidara was shite, Diame was shite, Mitro was shite.
Lascelles looked fat.
I wouldn't mind seeing Elliot start the season as number one, think he's the best keeper at the club.
Not surprised by the players you've listed as shite, we do need some reinforcements, should be able to get Murphy over the line next week hopefully.

Lots of open space and pre season mistakes from both sides last night.
Aarons looked good. Has he also grown a ft?
Mbemba had an absolute stinker at right back.
Haven't seen any of it, not really interested in pre-season.
How did de Jong do?

You're being a bit harsh. I'd definitely have more faith in Brentford to go up this season than Sunderland.
Not sure I would.

We heard all this bollocks ten years ago in The Championship mate when Charlton came down. "Theyve got too much money, they can sign anybody, nobody will be able to compete soon enough" They haven't been back up since.
We'll see, I'll still be surprised to see Brentford up anytime soon.

If that was the case with relegated sides having such a big advantage we wouldn't be seeing two sides getting promoted for their first season in the Premier League like Brighton and Huddersfield are.
I said they're only going to get stronger.
Villa spent ridiculous amount of money but had a manager that didn't know what he was doing. They'll go up next season.

Other than Middlesborough who are about as good as they were two years ago the teams coming down are having to rebuild entirely. This league is completely open this year and there is an opportunity for teams to capitalise like Huddersfield did.
Perhaps.
The likes of Villa, Norwich, Derby, Reading, Fulham etc will be strong and particularly with Brentford looking like losing their best player, I don't think there's many that will see them causing too many problems.
