The memorabilia, which features things as wide-ranging as unique 1927 FA Cup Final mementoes through to contractual details of John Toshack's move from Cardiff to Liverpool, are being put up for sale at an East Anglian auction house. Bluebirds fans have outlined their concerns items from down the decades, which are enshrined in Welsh football history, could be separated off and sold to individual buyers. They are calling for the Bluebirds to buy back the collection from the private owner and preserve the precious asset within the club. Failing that, Cardiff supporters feel the authorities should step in, with Cardiff Council, the National Museum or the National Library of Wales other options for the collection. The items for sale are highly relevant to association football in Wales, they say, and must be retained here as part of the proud history of not just the Bluebirds, but also Wales' capital city.
