While I fully expect this thread to go downhill (and quickly), I will say that I have always loved the smell of books. Go into a used book store and smelling the books just makes me feel at peace.

A sea breeze, I remember when we emigrated to Australia in the 60s, six weeks by ship, and the smell will always be there for me, and my old man was an ex-navy man and when we landed and ended up in a house way in the bush area of Dandenong he could not stand it and we ended up moving to Port Melbourne right beside the sea because he was at home there smelling the sea air.

On a serious note:

Gasoline

Seaweed and the smell of the sea in general

Garage - the amalgamation of rubber, motor oil, metal scents

Earth (or even asphalt) after rain

Freshly cut grass (though this one isn't odd at all, I think most love it)

Hardware store - that mix of wood/wood dust and metal scents

Also agree with @Eco about loving the smell of books. And new magazines.

Ditto to that too, I could spend ages in a book shop or library just leafing through the books and anything that sells books, magazines, any bit of stationary especially pens and folders.

Another smell I loved was any Sports balm, playing rugby before we left the dressing room you would rub it over your body and the smell would fill up the dressing room, and doing boxing the smell of the leather punching bags and speed balls etc.

My favourite aftershaves - Dior Sauvage or Mont Blanc Legend.

Freshly cut grass.

Petrol/Diesel.

Fish & chips.

Home-cooked food as soon as you walk in to the house after a long day.

Aware some of those are already mentioned but they are pleasant.

There are some perfumes that a woman will wear that absolutely blow my mind. It's insane.

I think the perfumes are meant to do that. Pheromones or some shite like that.

I feel the same way, although there's some perfumes where if I get a whiff of them I've immediately got a migraine - my body immediately rejects those smells.
