Don't imagine Napoli will get much (if anything) with this draw.

Probably not, but defensive teams like Napoli are just the type of teams that can frustrate Barcelona. Napoli have beaten Juventus and Inter Milan in recent weeks, so they are starting to pick up form again. Barcelona should win, but it wouldn't be the biggest shock if Napoli get a result tonight in front of their home fans.

I'm not as invested in Napoli as much as I used to be, but I'm still gonna hop on the bandwagon as I have a serious soft spot for them and are still my European side.

Barcelona are in the worst state in years. I still think they'll have a little too much here.

Barca dominating in possession as expected. Napoli with one gameplan to try and catch them on the break. Couple of times they have had space but players were offside.

GOAL NAPOLI!!

Great goal from Mertens. Picked his spot from the edge of the box and dispatched it beautifully. Barca caught on the break!

Zielinski should be on a team like Bayern or Juventus really. Insane talent and he’s just as good as I remember him.

Napoli doing well. Barcelona hates playing Manolas!

Erm he's not really done that well in the league this season...

Griezmann has never ever ever been a world class player.

Very average. He’s Atlético Madrid/Dortmund quality at best.

Fair enough I haven’t invested as much in Napoli this season but he’s hugely talented. He’s capable of things like he did for the goal.

I'd argue that you just named two world class teams, more so with Atletico.

Napoli is doing well to frustrate Barcelona. They are playing this one perfectly, with letting them have all the possession of the ball, but 30 yards away from the goal.

Gattuso drew that one up perfectly.

They don’t have the expectation of the big dogs. Griezmann isn’t elite enough to play for Barcelona.

Yeah, I think I know what you meant, just saying let's not forget that those two teams have had a marvelous decade.

Even at Atlético I thought he was overrated to be honest but he’s much more suited to play there than at Barca.

This kind of bleeds into our conversation yesterday about what makes a good striker.

I don't think Grez is a world talent that could play in any system, but at Atletico he was elite because he was always in the right position and scored goals by the boat load.

Atletico were more world class with him than without him, tbh.

I agree. I mean they won the hardest league in the world, and did well in the CL...

Awful looking there from Busquets...shocking as he seems to always be bit of a shit.

He's out in the 2nd leg.

God I hope Mertens isn't injured at all. He's fantastic to watch.

Mertens is in fact injured, and is having to be subbed off.

Fuck off Sergio

Disagree. The best Atlético Madrid in my life was the one with prime Diego Costa and David Villa. The one that won La Liga and reached the CL final in the same year.

Griezmann delivered but didn’t take them that far.

Dunno if I'd call it that, but I suppose it's always a big deal when it's someone that's not Real Madrid or Barcelona winning it. I think it's hard to say Griezmann's not world class, tbh, he was obviously the key attacking player for Atletico and France (when France won a World Cup - and yeah, I'm known to scoff at international performances... but you've obviously got to be good to be a key man at a World Cup winning side).

Tbh, I'm not sure if Barca was the right move for him - I'm sure a more stable Barca would be a better fit... but right now Barca aren't looking like the well oiled machine we've known them as for the last 15 years. But it's obviously going to be different when you've got everything built around you because you're by far and away the best attacker on the side, to going to a side where you're not the best and you're not even the second best attacker (because Messi and Suarez exist).
