Lyon 1-0 Juventus - Wednesday 26th February, 2020 (1st Leg)

Recommended Posts

Of course I'd love for Lyon to win this, but I don't think there is a way for them to do anything with this match.

Lyon have been pretty poor this year, and while Juve haven't been 'normal' Juve, but they should be find against Lyon.

On paper Juventus should go through over the two matches. Lyon have serious injury problems and their form has been inconsistent. However, Juventus have also struggled in several matches this season, so the Italians will have to be on top form to succeed in this encounter, as is expected of them. But I think that this tie could be closer than some anticipate it to be. I think that the draw is probably the most likely result in Lyon though.

No real chances in the first 15 minutes of this game. Juve with most of the possession, but not too threatening with it so far.

Been great for Lyon the past few minutes, but that was a great run from Arour!

Yes! Get fucked Juve!

I wonder who's under more pressure to win the CL this year, Sarri because he's got Ronaldo on his Juve… or Pep because that's what the City owners really want.

Pep I think. It's the one thing the City owners have wanted for several years.

Dembele with a chance but his shot is wayward and swerves away from the Juve goal.

God I hope the European football ban remains in effect after CAS is done with them.

VAR check for handball. No penalty. Correct call.

Just kidding...at first glance it certainly looked like it.

Think it's important to mention Lyon scored when De Ligt was off getting treatment for the head injury. They took full advantage.

To be fair, Juve haven't offered much at all in this first half so far. Lyon are looking the more dangerous team right now.

But have almost scored 2 or 3 more times with him on the pitch.

Juve are lucky this is only 1-0.

Ekambi with a powerful shot that just goes over the bar.

I know. But he was clearly a miss in that CB position.

Great half from Lyon...worried as they are only up by 1.

I fully expect Juve to come out in the second half and be better.

Lyon were the definitely the better team in the first half, they had all the dangerous chances. First they hit the bar through Ekambi's looping header. Then Lyon broke the deadlock with a lovely goal. Aouar did excellently down the left flank, he dribbled past Danilo and then he crossed the ball into the area where Lucas Tousart made a lovely run from midfield and he then planted the ball into the top corner of the net.

Lyon will be pleased with that first half performance.
