Think he's banking on surviving until extra time and then turning it on when Liverpool have hopefully run out of steam.

Their players are just told to stay in their rigid shape and follow the roles they’ve been designated. My issue is that the players were only pressing high when ordered to by the manager. Imagine spending that long sitting deep and then being told you’ve got to push up and press at a high speed. Football is played at a very fast pace, by the time they’ve heard the orders, they’ve already lost a couple of seconds which can be everything in football. When Simeone ordered them to press high they did it but at least a couple of the players didn’t press well enough and Liverpool were able to get out. What I mean is that high pressing is best dictated by the players and lead from the front. The players will know physically if they can commit to press and it should work from the front as a domino effect.
