Sort of. Headache/eye pain whenever I try using the laptop.

More importantly, have you found the vaccine for coronavirus yet?

Can't. Busy watching Alarm für Cobra 11 xD

They filmed that on our street once. But my mom made me go to school and I couldn't watch. :( You could see our house and my dads old car in the show though.

Round 4 Answers

Question 1. Name the oldest player to win Footballer of the Year award in Germany. (1 pt)
Answer: Lothar Matthäus at 38 years old.

@Tommy, @Stan, @Faithcore and our new participant @Relling all got this one right.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Question  2. Name the only 1. Bundesliga player to win "Goal of the month" award with an own goal. (1 pt)
Answer: Helmut Winklhofer in August 1985, Uerdingen vs Bayern. And it was glorious.

In all honesty, I didn't expect anyone to get this one right. Well done @SchalkeUK.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Question 3. Which German player got into debt of almost a million Euro betting on cricket matches while drunk? (1 pt)
Answer: Dietmar Hamann. A big cricket fan, he lost almost 300k in one night betting on matches and his alcohol fueled betting spree spiraled into a million Euro debt soon after.

Well done @Tommy and @SchalkeUK.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Question 4. Which former player had a nickname exactly the same as the screen name of one of the participants of this quiz? (1 pt)
Answer: Reinhard 'Stan' Libuda, got his nickname as a nod to Stanley Matthews.

@Faithcore and @Rucksackfranzose got this one right. I am also tempted to give half a point to @Stan who couldn't name the player but guessed correctly that it's his name :D

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Question 5. Which club's mascot was claimed to be kidnapped by the ultras? What was the reason behind it? (2 pts)
Answer: This was a bit of a trick question. In 2015 Union Berlin ultras group claimed to have kidnapped the club's mascot in order to find out where the club's next training camp will take place. Obviously, this was a joke. Here's the picture the ultras sent to the club:

Union Berlin complied and announced their training camp plans.

Unsurprisingly, nobody got this one right.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Question 6. Name the former 1. Bundesliga player who had a song dedicated to him by an Austrian rock band in the 90s. (1 pt)
Answer: The one and only, Toni Polster. The song "Toni, lass es polstern" was performed by an Austrian band with a brilliant name of Die Fabulösen Thekenschlampen.

@Tommy@Faithcore and @Rucksackfranzose get 1 point each.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Question 7. A few years ago an amateur club had their kit sponsor banned by their local football association. Why? Who was the sponsor? (2 pt)
Answer: SV Oberwürzbach with a pornstar Lena Nitro ads, banned by the local football authorities due to its immoral content incompatible with sport.

I expected @Rucksackfranzose to get this right and he delivered - 2 points.  @SchalkeUK@Azeem@Faithcore and @Stan all get a point too.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Question 8. Name the club which had a living mascot, but cooked it and served it to the players of the club before an important match. What animal was it? (2 pts)
Answer: Kaiserslautern, the animal was a pig which they were gifted by the city in 1970 and which was cooked and served to the players before the 1972 DFB Pokal Final. Spoiler: Kaiserslautern lost it.

Well done @Tommy for naming the animal right! Nobody got the club correctly. Most of you wanted to see Hennes dead. You bastards. Also @Faithcore, you might want to have a word with @Rucksackfranzose. His unofficial suggestion was to cook your zebra.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Question 9. Name the manager who was sacked and given a stadium ban by his former club. What was the reason? Additional point for naming the club. (3 pts)
Answer: The one and only, Peter Neururer. Got sacked by Hannover because after managing to stay up, he thanked the club's old board of managers instead of the new one, so they sacked him and gave him a 10 year stadium ban. The ban was officially removed after he re-joined them a couple of years later xD

Well done @Tommy and @Relling! Surprised no one else got this one.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Question 10. Name the manager who lost a bet and had to walk 170 km from Nürnberg to München. (1 pt)
Answer: Udo Lattek. He made a bet to walk from Brussels to München if Bayern won the CL in 1974. After that happened, the route was changed to Nürnberg-München, Lattek only did 35 kilometers though.

No correct answers here.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Scores and updated standings will be posted a bit later.

I do have a feeling that this is a bit too difficult. Thoughts?

Very defensive again. It's okay, none of us, including Inga, rate you by how many points you get in a little quiz.
